1 The burden of the word of the LORD against Israel by the hand of Malachi.
1 Peso da palavra do SENHOR contra Israel, por intermédio de Malaquias.
2 I have loved you, said the LORD. Yet ye say, In what hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? said the LORD; yet I loved Jacob,
2 Eu vos tenho amado, diz o Senhor. Mas vós dizeis: Em que nos tens amado? Não era Esaú irmão de Jacó? disse o Senhor; todavia amei a Jacó,
3 and I rejected Esau and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
3 E odiei a Esaú; e fiz dos seus montes uma desolação, e dei a sua herança aos chacais do deserto.
4 When Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus hath the LORD of the hosts said, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The province of wickedness and The people against whom the LORD has indignation for ever.
4 Ainda que Edom diga: Empobrecidos estamos, porém tornaremos a edificar os lugares desolados; assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Eles edificarão, e eu destruirei; e lhes chamarão: Termo de impiedade, e povo contra quem o Senhor está irado para sempre.
5 And your eyes shall see and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified over the province of Israel.
5 E os vossos olhos o verão, e direis: O Senhor seja engrandecido além dos termos de Israel.
6 The son honours [his] father and the servant his master; if then I [am] a father, where [is] my honour? and if I [am] a master, where [is] my fear? said the LORD of the hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, In what have we despised thy name?
6 O filho honra o pai, e o servo o seu senhor; se eu sou pai, onde está a minha honra? E, se eu sou senhor, onde está o meu temor? diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos a vós, ó sacerdotes, que desprezais o meu nome. E vós dizeis: Em que nós temos desprezado o teu nome?
7 Ye offer polluted bread upon my altar; and ye say, In what have we polluted thee? In that ye say, We die of hunger in the service of the LORD.
7 Ofereceis sobre o meu altar pão imundo, e dizeis: Em que te havemos profanado? Nisto que dizeis: A mesa do Senhor é desprezível.
8 And when ye offer the blind [animal] for sacrifice, [is it] not evil? Likewise when ye offer the lame and sick, [is it] not evil? offer it now unto thy prince; will he be pleased with thee or accept thy person? said the LORD of the hosts.
8 Porque, quando ofereceis animal cego para o sacrifício, isso não é mau? E quando ofereceis o coxo ou enfermo, isso não é mau? Ora apresenta-o ao teu governador; porventura terá ele agrado em ti? ou aceitará ele a tua pessoa? diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.
9 And now, therefore, beseech the face of God, and he will have compassion on us; this has come by your hand: will he regard your persons? said the LORD of the hosts.
9 Agora, pois, eu suplico, pedi a Deus, que ele seja misericordioso conosco; isto veio das vossas mãos; aceitará ele a vossa pessoa? diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.
10 Who [is there] even among you that would shut the doors or tend [the fire] on my altar for free? I have no pleasure in you, said the LORD of the hosts, neither will the offering from your hand be agreeable unto me.
10 Quem há também entre vós que feche as portas por nada, e não acenda debalde o fogo do meu altar? Eu não tenho prazer em vós, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, nem aceitarei oferta da vossa mão.
11 For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same, my name is great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense is offered unto my name, and a clean offering; for my name [is] great among the Gentiles, said the LORD of the hosts.
11 Mas desde o nascente do sol até ao poente é grande entre os gentios o meu nome; e em todo o lugar se oferecerá ao meu nome incenso, e uma oferta pura; porque o meu nome é grande entre os gentios, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.
12 And ye have profaned it when ye say, We die of hunger at the service of the LORD and when ye speak that his food is contemptible.
12 Mas vós o profanais, quando dizeis: A mesa do Senhor é impura, e o seu produto, isto é, a sua comida é desprezível.
13 And ye say, Behold, what a weariness [it is]! and ye have rejected it, said the LORD of the hosts; and ye brought [that which was] stolen or lame or sick and presented an offering: should this be acceptable unto me by your hand? said the LORD.
13 E dizeis ainda: Eis aqui, que canseira! E o lançastes ao desprezo, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos; vós ofereceis o que foi roubado, e o coxo e o enfermo; assim trazeis a oferta. Aceitaria eu isso de vossa mão? diz o Senhor.
14 But cursed [be] the deceiver, who has in his flock a male and vows and sacrifices unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I [am] a great King, saith the LORD of the hosts, and my name [is] formidable among the Gentiles.:
14 Pois seja maldito o enganador que, tendo macho no seu rebanho, promete e oferece ao Senhor o que tem mácula; porque eu sou grande Rei, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, o meu nome é temível entre os gentios.
