1 And when they came near to Jerusalem unto Bethphage and Bethany at the mount of Olives, he sends forth two of his disciples
1 E, quando eles se aproximaram de Jerusalém, de Betfagé e de Betânia, ao monte das Oliveiras, ele enviou dois dos seus discípulos,
2 and said unto them, Go to the place which is before you; and as soon as ye are entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, upon which no man ever sat; loose him and bring [him].
2 e disse-lhes: Ide pelo caminho à aldeia que está defronte de vós; e logo que nela entrardes, encontrareis amarrado um jumentinho, sobre o qual ainda não montou homem algum; desprendei-o, e trazei-o.
3 And if anyone says unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord has need of him, and straightway he will send him here.
3 E, se algum homem vos disser: Por que fazeis isso? Dizei-lhe que o Senhor necessita dele, e imediatamente ele o enviará para aqui.
4 And they went and found the colt tied by the door outside between two ways, and they loosed him.
4 E eles foram pelo seu caminho, e encontraram o jumentinho amarrado à porta do lado de fora, entre dois caminhos, e o desprenderam.
5 And some of those that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?
5 E alguns dos que ali estavam lhes disseram: O que fazeis, desprendendo o jumentinho?
6 Then they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded, and they let them go.
6 E eles responderam como Jesus lhes tinha mandado; e eles o deixaram ir.
7 They brought the colt to Jesus and cast their garments on him, and he sat upon him.
7 E eles trouxeram o jumentinho a Jesus, e lançaram sobre ele as suas vestes, e ele assentou-se sobre ele.
8 And many spread their garments in the way, and others cut down leaves off the trees and spread [them] in the way.
8 E muitos estendiam as suas vestes pelo caminho, e outros cortavam ramos das árvores, e os espalhavam pelo caminho.
9 And those that went before and those that followed cried out, saying, Hosanna; Blessed [is] he that comes in the name of the Lord;
9 E aqueles que iam adiante, e os que seguiam, clamavam, dizendo: Hosana, abençoado é o que vem em nome do Senhor;
10 blessed [be] the kingdom of our father David, that comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
10 abençoado seja o reino do nosso pai Davi, que vem em nome do Senhor. Hosana nas alturas.
11 And the Lord entered into Jerusalem and into the temple; and when he had looked around upon all things, and it being now late, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.
11 E Jesus entrou em Jerusalém e no templo; e, olhando ao redor sobre todas as coisas; e chegando a tarde, saiu para Betânia com os doze.
12 And the next day when they left Bethany, he was hungry,
12 E, no dia seguinte, quando saíram de Betânia, ele teve fome;
13 and seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing upon her; but when he came to her, he found nothing but leaves, for the time of figs was not [yet].
13 e, avistando de longe uma figueira que tinha folhas, foi ver se talvez pudesse encontrar nela alguma coisa; e, chegando até ela, nada encontrou senão folhas, porque ainda não era tempo de figos.
14 Then Jesus, answering, said to the fig tree, Never again shall anyone eat fruit of thee [hereafter] for ever. And his disciples heard [it].
14 E Jesus, respondendo, disse à figueira: Nenhum homem coma fruto de ti daqui em diante para sempre. E os seus discípulos ouviram isso.
15 And they come to Jerusalem, and Jesus, entering into the temple, began to cast out those that sold and bought in the temple and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of those that sold doves
15 E vieram a Jerusalém; e Jesus entrou no templo, e começou a expulsar os que vendiam e compravam no templo, e derrubou as mesas dos cambistas, e as cadeiras dos que vendiam pombas;
16 and would not suffer that any man should carry [any] vessel through the temple.
16 e não permitia que nenhum homem carregasse algum vaso pelo templo.
17 And he taught them, saying, Is it not written that my house shall be called House of prayer by all the nations? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
17 E os ensinava, dizendo: Não está escrito: A minha casa será chamada por todas as nações casa de oração? Mas vós a tendes feito covil de ladrões.
18 And the scribes and the princes of the priests heard [it] and sought how they might kill him, for they feared him because all the multitude was astonished at his doctrine.
18 E os escribas e principais sacerdotes ouviram isso, e buscavam de que modo o destruiriam, pois o temiam, porque todo o povo estava admirado da sua doutrina.
19 But when evening was come, Jesus went out of the city.
19 E, vindo a tarde, ele saiu da cidade.
20 And passing by in the morning, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
20 E de manhã, enquanto passavam, eles viram que a figueira tinha secado desde as raízes.
21 Then Peter, remembering, said unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou didst curse is withered away.
21 E Pedro, chamando à lembrança, disse-lhe: Mestre, eis que a figueira, que tu amaldiçoaste, secou-se.
22 And Jesus, answering, said unto them, Have faith in God.
22 E Jesus, respondendo, disse-lhes: Tende fé em Deus.
23 For verily I say unto you that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Remove thyself and cast thyself into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that what he says shall be done whatsoever he says shall be done unto him.
23 Porque na verdade eu vos digo que qualquer que disser a este monte: Ergue-te e lança-te no mar, e não duvidar em seu coração, mas crer que se fará aquilo que diz, assim lhe será feito.
24 Therefore I say unto you that everything that ye ask for, praying, believe that ye receive it, and it shall come upon you.
24 Portanto eu vos digo que todas as coisas que desejais, quando orardes, crede que as recebereis, e tê-las-eis.
25 And when ye are praying, forgive if ye have anything against anyone, so that your Father who [is] in the heavens will also forgive you your trespasses.
25 E, quando estiverdes orando, perdoai, se tendes alguma coisa contra alguém, para que também vosso Pai, que está no céu, possa perdoar as vossas transgressões.
26 For if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in the heavens forgive your trespasses.
26 Mas, se vós não perdoardes, nem o vosso Pai que está no céu, perdoará as vossas transgressões.
27 And they returned to Jerusalem, and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the princes of the priests and the scribes and the elders
27 E eles foram novamente para Jerusalém; e, andando ele pelo templo, aproximaram-se dele os principais sacerdotes, os escribas e os anciãos,
28 and say unto him, By what faculty doest thou these things? and who gave thee this faculty to do these things?
28 e lhe disseram: Com que autoridade tu fazes estas coisas? E quem te deu tal autoridade para fazer estas coisas?
29 Then Jesus, answering, said unto them, I will also ask of you one word, and respond unto me, and I will tell you with what faculty I do these things.
29 E Jesus, respondendo, disse-lhes: Também eu vos farei uma pergunta, e respondei-me, e então vos direi com que autoridade eu faço estas coisas.
30 The baptism of John, was [it] of heaven or of men? Respond unto me.
30 O batismo de João era do céu ou dos homens? Respondei-me.
31 Then they thought inside themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven, he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?
31 E eles argumentavam entre si, dizendo: Se dissermos: Do céu, ele nos dirá: Por que então não acreditaste nele?
32 But if we shall say, Of men, we fear the people, for everyone judged regarding John that he truly was a prophet.
32 Mas se dissermos: Dos homens; eles temeriam o povo; porque todos os homens verdadeiramente tinham a João como profeta.
33 And answering, they said unto Jesus, We do not know. And Jesus, answering, said unto them, Neither shall I tell you with what faculty I do these things.:
33 E, eles respondendo, disseram a Jesus: Nós não podemos dizer. E Jesus lhes respondeu: Nem eu vos digo com que autoridade faço estas coisas.
