1 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, (when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the peoples, fought against Jerusalem and against all the cities thereof,)saying,
1 A palavra que veio a Jeremias da parte do SENHOR, quando Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, e todo o seu exército, e todos os reinos da terra de seu domínio, e todo o povo, lutou contra Jerusalém, e contra todas as suas cidades, dizendo:
2 Thus hath the LORD God of Israel said: Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus hath the LORD said: Behold, I give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:
2 Assim diz o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel: Vai e fala a Zedequias, rei de Judá, e dize-lhe: Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que eu darei esta cidade na mão do rei de Babilônia, e ele a queimará com fogo.
3 and thou shalt not escape out of his hand but shalt surely be taken and delivered into his hand; and thine eyes shall behold the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with thee mouth to mouth, and thou shalt go to Babylon.
3 E tu não escaparás da sua mão, porém certamente serás tomado e entregue na sua mão, e teus olhos observarão os olhos do rei de Babilônia; e ele falará contigo boca a boca, e tu irás para a Babilônia.
4 Yet hear the word of the LORD, O Zedekiah king of Judah; Thus hath the LORD said of thee, Thou shalt not die by the sword:
4 Contudo ouve a palavra do SENHOR, ó Zedequias, rei de Judá. Assim diz o SENHOR de ti: Tu não morrerás pela espada.
5 [but] thou shalt die in peace: and according to the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings which were before thee, so shall they burn [odours] for thee; and they will lament thee, [saying], Ah lord! for I have pronounced the word, said the LORD.
5 Porém tu morrerás em paz, e com as incinerações de teus pais, os reis anteriores, que foram antes de ti; assim eles queimarão aromas por ti, e te lamentarão, dizendo: Ah, senhor! Pois eu tenho dito a palavra, diz o SENHOR.
6 Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke all these words unto Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem
6 Então, Jeremias, o profeta, falou todas estas palavras para Zedequias, rei de Judá, em Jerusalém.
7 when the king of Babylon's army fought against Jerusalem and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish, and against Azekah, for of the strong cities of Judah these had remained.
7 Quando o exército do rei de Babilônia lutou contra Jerusalém, e contra todas as cidades que restavam de Judá, contra Laquis e contra Azeca, porque estas cidades protegidas permaneceram das cidades de Judá.
8 [This is] the word that came unto Jeremiah from the LORD after king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people which [were] at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto them;
8 Esta é a palavra que veio a Jeremias da parte do SENHOR, depois que o rei Zedequias fez um pacto com todo o povo que estava em Jerusalém, para proclamar a sua liberdade.
9 that every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, [being] a Hebrew or a Hebrewess, go free; that no one should use of his brethren, the Jews, as a slave.
9 Que todo homem deveria deixar seguir livre o seu servo, e todo homem a sua serva, sendo um hebreu ou uma hebreia, para que ninguém se servisse deles, a saber, de um judeu, seu irmão.
10 Now when all the princes and all the people, who had entered into the covenant, heard that each one should let his manservant and each one his maidservant go free, that no one should use them any more as servants, then they listened and let [them] go.
10 Ora, quando todos os príncipes, e todo o povo, que tinha adentrado no pacto, ouviram que cada um deveria deixar ir livre o seu servo, e cada um a sua serva, para que ninguém mais se sirva deles, então eles obedeceram, e os deixaram ir.
11 But afterward they repented and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free, to return and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.
11 Porém depois disso eles se arrependeram, e fizeram retornar os servos e as servas, a quem eles tinham deixado ir livres, e os trouxeram à sujeição como servos e servas.
12 Therefore the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
12 Portanto a palavra do SENHOR veio a Jeremias da parte do SENHOR, dizendo:
13 Thus saith the LORD God of Israel: I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, saying,
13 Assim diz o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel: Eu fiz um pacto com vossos pais no dia em que eu os tirei da terra do Egito, da casa de servidão, dizendo:
14 At the end of seven years each one shall let his Hebrew brother go, who has been sold unto thee; therefore he shall serve thee six years, and thou shalt send him forth free from thee: but your fathers did not hearken unto me, nor incline their ear.
14 Ao final de sete anos deixai ir cada homem a seu irmão, um hebreu, que foi vendido para ti. E quando ele tiver servido a ti seis anos, tu deixarás ir livre. Porém vossos pais não me escutaram, nem inclinaram os seus ouvidos.
15 And ye were now converted and had done right in my sight in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:
15 E há pouco tornastes, e fizestes o correto à minha vista, ao proclamar liberdade cada homem ao seu próximo. E vós fizestes um pacto perante mim, na casa que é chamada pelo meu nome.
16 but ye turned and polluted my name and caused each man his servant and each man his handmaid, whom ye had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.
16 Todavia tornastes e contaminastes meu nome, e fizestes retornar cada homem a seu servo, e cada homem a sua serva, a quem ele tinha colocado em liberdade conforme a sua vontade, e os trouxeram em sujeição, para vos serem por servos e por servas.
17 Therefore thus hath the LORD said: Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, each one to his brother and each man to his neighbour; behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, said the LORD, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
17 Portanto assim diz o SENHOR: Vós não tendes escutado a mim, para proclamar liberdade cada um a seu irmão, e cada homem a seu próximo. Eis que eu proclamo uma liberdade para vós, diz o SENHOR, para a espada, para a peste, e para a fome. E eu vos farei ser removidos para todos os reinos da terra.
18 And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in two and passed between the parts thereof,
18 E eu entregarei os homens que transgrediram o meu pacto, os quais não cumpriram as palavras do pacto que fizeram perante mim, quando cortaram o novilho em duas partes, e passaram entre as suas partes.
19 the princes of Judah and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;
19 Os príncipes de Judá, e os príncipes de Jerusalém, os eunucos, e os sacerdotes, e todo o povo da terra, os quais passaram entre as partes do novilho.
20 I will even give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those that seek their soul; and their dead bodies shall be for food unto the fowls of the heaven and to the beasts of the earth.
20 Eu os entregarei nas mãos dos seus inimigos, nas mãos daqueles que buscam a sua vida. E seus cadáveres serão por alimento para as aves do céu, e para os animais da terra.
21 And Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes I will give into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those that seek their soul and into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which are gone up from you.
21 E Zedequias, rei de Judá, e os seus príncipes eu os entregarei nas mãos dos seus inimigos, e nas mãos daqueles que buscam a sua vida, e na mão do exército do rei de Babilônia, que se retirou de vós.
22 Behold, I command, said the LORD and will cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against her and take her and burn her with fire; and I will give the cities of Judah unto desolation until they are without an inhabitant.:
22 Eis que eu ordenarei, diz o SENHOR, e os farei retornar a esta cidade; e eles lutarão contra ela, e a tomarão, e a queimarão com fogo. E eu farei das cidades de Judá uma desolação, sem um habitante.
