¹ Job answered and said,

¹ Mas Jó respondeu e disse:

² How hast thou helped the one who has no power? Hast thou saved with thy arm the one who has no strength?

² Como ajudaste aquele que está sem poder? Como salvas o braço que não tem força?

³ How hast thou counselled the one that has no wisdom? and [how] hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?

³ Como aconselhaste aquele que não tem sabedoria; e como plenamente declaraste a coisa como ela é?

⁴ To whom hast thou uttered words, and whose is the spirit that comes forth from thee?

⁴ A quem proferiste palavras, e de quem é o espírito que veio de ti?

⁵ Dead [things] are formed under the waters and of its dwelling places.

⁵ Coisas mortas são formadas debaixo das águas, e dos seus habitantes.

⁶ Sheol [is] naked before him, and hell has no covering.

⁶ O inferno está nu perante ele, e a destruição não tem cobertura.

⁷ He stretches out the north wind over the empty place [and] hangs the earth upon nothing.

⁷ Ele estende o norte sobre o lugar vazio; e suspende a terra sobre o nada.

⁸ He binds up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.

⁸ Ele prende as águas em suas nuvens espessas, e a nuvem não se rasga debaixo delas.

⁹ He holds back the face of his throne [and] spreads his cloud upon it.

⁹ Ele retém a face do seu trono, e sobre ele estende a sua nuvem.

¹⁰ He has compassed the waters with bounds until the end of light and darkness.

¹⁰ Cercou as águas com fronteiras, até que o dia e a noite cheguem ao fim.

¹¹ The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.

¹¹ Os pilares do céu tremem e se espantam com sua reprovação

¹² He divides the sea with his power, and by his intelligence he smites its pride.

¹² Ele divide o mar com o seu poder, e com seu entendimento abate o orgulhoso.

¹³ By his spirit he has adorned the heavens; his hand has formed the fleeing serpent.

¹³ Pelo seu Espírito ele ornou os céus; a sua mão formou a serpente torta.

¹⁴ Behold, these [are] parts of his ways; but how little a portion have we heard of him? For the thunder of his power, who shall understand?:

¹⁴ Eis que estas são partes dos seus caminhos; e quão pouca é a porção do que se ouve dele? Porém o trovão do seu poder, quem consegue entender?
