Isaías 33

1 Woe to thee that dost spoil, and thou [wast] not spoiled; and dost deal treacherously, and they did not deal treacherously with thee! When thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; [and] when thou shalt make an end to dealing treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.
1 Ai de ti despojador que não foste despojado e que ages perfidamente contra os que não agiram perfidamente contra ti! Acabando tu de despojar, serás despojado; e, acabando tu de tratar perfidamente, perfidamente te tratarão.
2 O LORD, have mercy on us; we wait for thee: [thou] wert the strength of thy people in the beginning, be also our saving health in the time of tribulation.
2 Senhor , tem misericórdia de nós! Por ti temos esperado; sê tu o nosso braço cada manhã, como também a nossa salvação em tempos de tribulação.
3 At the noise of the tumult the peoples fled; at the lifting up of thyself the Gentiles were scattered.
3 Ao ruído do tumulto, fugirão os povos; à tua exaltação as nações serão dispersas.
4 And your spoil shall be gathered [like] the gathering of the caterpillar: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them.
4 Então, ajuntar-se-á o vosso despojo como se apanha o pulgão; como os gafanhotos saltam, ali saltará.
5 The LORD shall be exalted; he who dwells on the heights: [for] he has filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.
5 O Senhor é exalçado, pois habita nas alturas; encheu a Sião de retidão e de justiça.
6 And in thy times wisdom and knowledge, and the strength of salvation shall reign: the fear of the LORD [shall be] his treasure.
6 E haverá estabilidade nos teus tempos, abundância de salvação, sabedoria e ciência; e o temor do Senhor será o seu tesouro.
7 Behold, their ambassadors shall cry without: the messengers of peace shall weep bitterly.
7 Eis que os seus embaixadores estão clamando de fora; e os mensageiros de paz estão chorando amargamente.
8 The highways shall be broken down; the travellers shall cease; he has broken the covenant; he has despised the cities; he does not regard man.
8 As estradas estão desoladas, cessam os que passam pelas veredas; ele rompeu a aliança, desprezou as cidades e a homem nenhum estima.
9 The earth mourns [and] languishes: Lebanon is ashamed [and] hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel were shaken.
9 A terra geme e pranteia, o Líbano se envergonha e se murcha, Sarom se tornou como um deserto, Basã e Carmelo foram sacudidos.
10 Now I will rise up, saith the LORD; now I will be exalted; now I will be lifted up.
10 Agora, me levantarei, diz o Senhor ; agora, me levantarei a mim mesmo; agora, serei exaltado.
11 Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, [as] fire, shall devour you.
11 Concebestes palha, produzireis pragana, e o vosso espírito vos devorará como fogo.
12 And the peoples shall be [as] the burnings of lime: [as] thorns cut up they shall be burned in the fire.
12 E os povos serão como os incêndios de cal, como espinhos cortados arderão no fogo.
13 Hear, ye [that are] far off, what I have done; and, ye [that are] near, acknowledge my might.
13 Ouvi, vós os que estais longe, o que tenho feito; e vós que estais vizinhos, conhecei o meu poder.
14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with eternal flames?
14 Os pecadores de Sião se assombraram, o tremor surpreendeu os hipócritas. Quem dentre nós habitará com o fogo consumidor? Quem dentre nós habitará com as labaredas eternas?
15 He that walks in righteousness, he that speaks uprightly; he that despises the gain of violence, he that shakes his hands from receiving bribes; he that stops his ears to not hear of blood; he who shuts his eyes to not see evil;
15 O que anda em justiça e que fala com retidão, que arremessa para longe de si o ganho de opressões, que sacode das suas mãos todo o presente; que tapa os ouvidos para não ouvir falar de sangue e fecha os olhos para não ver o mal,
16 he shall dwell upon the high places: fortresses of rocks shall be his place of refuge: bread shall be given him; his waters [shall be] sure.
16 este habitará nas alturas; as fortalezas das rochas serão o seu alto refúgio, o seu pão lhe será dado, e as suas águas serão certas.
17 Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.
17 Os teus olhos verão o Rei na sua formosura e verão a terra que está longe.
18 Thine heart shall imagine the terror. Where [is] the scribe? Where [is] the receiver [of tribute]? Where [is] he that counted the towers?
18 O teu coração considerará em assombro, dizendo: Onde está o escrivão? Onde está o pagador? Onde está o que conta as torres?
19 Thou shalt not see that fierce people, a people of a darker speech than thou can perceive; of a stammering tongue, [that thou can] not understand.
19 Não verás mais aquele povo cruel, povo de fala tão profunda, que não se pode perceber, e de língua tão estranha, que não se pode entender.
20 Thou shalt see Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle [that] shall not be taken down; not one of its stakes shall ever be removed, neither shall any of its cords be broken.
20 Olha para Sião, a cidade das nossas solenidades; os teus olhos verão a Jerusalém, habitação quieta, tenda que não será derribada, cujas estacas nunca serão arrancadas, e das suas cordas nenhuma se quebrará.
21 For the LORD shall surely be strong unto us there, a place of broad rivers [and] wide streams in which no galley with oars shall go, neither shall [any] great ship pass thereby.
21 Mas o Senhor ali nos será grandioso, lugar de rios e correntes largas; barco nenhum de remo passará por eles, nem navio grande navegará por eles.
22 For the LORD [shall be] our judge, the LORD [shall be] our lawgiver, the LORD shall be our king; he himself will save us.
22 Porque o Senhor é o nosso Juiz; o Senhor é o nosso Legislador; o Senhor é o nosso Rei; ele nos salvará.
23 Thy tacklings are loosed; they did not strengthen well their mast, nor could they spread the sail: then the prey of a great spoil shall be divided; [even] the lame shall take prey.
23 As tuas cordas estão frouxas; não puderam ter firme o seu mastro, e vela não estenderam; então, a presa de abundantes despojos se repartirá; e até os coxos roubarão a presa.
24 And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein [shall be] absolved from sin.:
24 E morador nenhum dirá: Enfermo estou; porque o povo que habitar nela será absolvido da sua iniquidade.
