1 The burden of Moab. Certainly in the night Ar of Moab was laid waste [and] brought to silence; certainly in the night Kir of Moab was laid waste [and] brought to silence.
1 Esta é a mensagem contra Moabe: A cidade de Ar foi destruída; numa só noite foi arrasada! Também Quir foi destruída, numa só noite foi arrasada!
2 He is gone up to Bajith and to Dibon, the altars, to weep; Moab shall howl over Nebo and over Medeba: every head among her shall become bald, [and] every beard shall be cut off.
2 Os moradores de Dibom chorarão no lugar sagrado que fica no monte. Os moabitas choram a destruição das cidades de Nebo e de Medeba; em sinal de tristeza, rapam a cabeça e a barba.
3 In their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth; on the tops of their houses and in their streets, every one shall howl, weeping as they come down.
3 Andam pelas ruas vestindo roupas feitas de pano grosseiro; gritam e choram amargamente nas praças e nos terraços das casas.
4 And Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: their voice shall be heard [even] unto Jahaz; therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out; each one of them shall cry out for his soul.
4 Os moradores de Hesbom e de Eleal gritam de dor, e os seus gritos são ouvidos em Jasa. Os soldados de Moabe perdem a coragem e ficam tremendo de medo.
5 My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall go up with weeping by the hill of Luhith unto Zoar, a heifer of three years; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.
5 Eu choro por causa de Moabe. O seu povo fugiu até Zoar e Eglate-Selisia. Alguns, chorando, vão subindo até Luíte; outros, gritando de dor, fogem para Horonaim.
6 For the waters of Nimrim have run out: for the grass [of the courtyard] is withered away, the herb fails, there is no green thing.
6 O riacho de Ninrim está seco; todos os pastos secaram, as plantas morreram, não sobrou nada de verde.
7 Therefore that which [each one] has laid up and their riches they shall carry away to the brook of the willows.
7 O povo de Moabe foge para o outro lado do riacho dos Salgueiros, levando consigo todos os seus bens.
8 For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof unto Eglaim and the clamour thereof unto Beerelim.
8 Ouvem-se gritos por toda a terra de Moabe; em Eglaim e em Beer-Elim, ouve-se o barulho de choro.
9 For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood; for I will bring more upon Dimon: lions upon him that escapes of Moab and upon the remnant of the land.:
9 O rio que fica perto de Dibom está cheio de sangue, mas Deus vai fazer contra Dibom uma coisa ainda pior: ele vai fazer com que as pessoas que ficarem vivas em Moabe sejam devoradas por leões.
