1 The burden of Moab. Certainly in the night Ar of Moab was laid waste [and] brought to silence; certainly in the night Kir of Moab was laid waste [and] brought to silence.
1 Oráculo acerca de Moabe. Porque Ar foi destruída numa noite, Moabe está desfeita; porque Quir foi destruída numa noite, Moabe está desfeita.
2 He is gone up to Bajith and to Dibon, the altars, to weep; Moab shall howl over Nebo and over Medeba: every head among her shall become bald, [and] every beard shall be cut off.
2 Subiu a filha de Dibom aos altos para chorar; por Nebo e por Medeba pranteia Moabe; em todas as cabeças há calva, e toda barba é rapada.
3 In their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth; on the tops of their houses and in their streets, every one shall howl, weeping as they come down.
3 Nas suas ruas cingem-se de saco; nos seus terraços e nas suas praças todos andam pranteando, e choram abundantemente.
4 And Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: their voice shall be heard [even] unto Jahaz; therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out; each one of them shall cry out for his soul.
4 Assim Hesbom como Eleale andam gritando; até Jaaz se ouve a sua voz; por isso os armados de Moabe clamam; estremece-lhes a alma.
5 My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall go up with weeping by the hill of Luhith unto Zoar, a heifer of three years; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.
5 O meu coração clama por causa de Moabe; fogem os seus nobres para Zoar, qual uma novilha de três anos; pois vão chorando pela encosta de Luíte; no caminho de Horonaim levantam um grito de destruição.
6 For the waters of Nimrim have run out: for the grass [of the courtyard] is withered away, the herb fails, there is no green thing.
6 As águas de Ninrim são desoladas; secou-se a relva, definhou a erva verde, e não há verdura alguma.
7 Therefore that which [each one] has laid up and their riches they shall carry away to the brook of the willows.
7 Pelo que a abundância que ajuntaram, e o que guardaram, para além do ribeiro dos salgueiros o levam.
8 For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof unto Eglaim and the clamour thereof unto Beerelim.
8 Pois o pranto já rodeou os limites de Moabe; até Eglaim chegou o seu clamor, e ainda até Beer-Elim o seu rugido.
9 For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood; for I will bring more upon Dimon: lions upon him that escapes of Moab and upon the remnant of the land.:
9 Pois as águas de Dimom estão cheias de sangue; pelo que ainda acrescentarei mais a Dimom, um leão contra aqueles que escaparem de Moabe, e contra o restante que ficou na terra.
