1 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name [was] Keturah.
1 Então Abraão tomou novamente uma mulher, e o seu nome era Quetura.
2 And she bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.
2 E ela lhe gerou Zinrã, e Jocsã, e Medã, e Midiã, e Jisbaque, e Suá.
3 And Jokshan begat Sheba and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim.
3 E Jocsã gerou Seba e Dedã; e os filhos de Dedã foram Assurim, e Letusim, e Leumim.
4 And the sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Enoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these [were] the sons of Keturah.
4 E os filhos de Midiã foram Efá, e Efer, e Enoque, e Abida, e Elda. Todos estes foram filhos de Quetura.
5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.
5 E Abraão deu tudo o que ele tinha para Isaque.
6 But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.
6 Mas aos filhos das concubinas, que Abraão tinha, Abraão deu presentes, e ainda em vida os enviou para longe de seu filho Isaque, ao leste, para a terra oriental.
7 And these [were] the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, one hundred seventy-five years.
7 E estes são os dias dos anos da vida de Abraão, que ele viveu, cento e setenta e cinco anos.
8 Then Abraham expired and died in a good old age, an old man and full [of years], and was gathered to his people.
8 Então Abraão entregou o espírito, e morreu em boa velhice, um homem velho, e cheio de anos. E foi reunido ao seu povo.
9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which [is] in front of Mamre;
9 E seus filhos, Isaque e Ismael, o sepultaram na caverna de Macpela, no campo de Efrom, filho de Zoar, o heteu, que está diante de Manre;
10 the field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth, there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
10 no campo que Abraão comprou dos filhos de Hete, ali foi Abraão sepultado, e Sara, sua esposa.
11 And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi.
11 E aconteceu que, depois da morte de Abraão, Deus abençoou seu filho Isaque, e Isaque habitou junto ao poço Beer-Laai-Rói.
12 Now these [are] the generations of Ishmael, son of Abraham, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, gave birth unto Abraham:
12 Agora, estas são as gerações de Ismael, filho de Abraão, que Agar, a egípcia, serva de Sara, gerou para Abraão,
13 And these [are] the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their lineages: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth, and Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
13 e estes são os nomes dos filhos de Ismael, pelos seus nomes, de acordo com suas gerações: O primogênito de Ismael era Nebaiote, e Quedar, e Adbeel, e Mibsão,
14 Mishma, Dumah, Massa,
14 e Misma, e Dumá, e Massá,
15 Hadar, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
15 e Hadade, e Tema, e Jetur, e Nafis, e Quedemá.
16 These [are] the sons of Ishmael, and these [are] their names, by their towns and by their palaces; twelve princes according to their families.
16 Estes são os filhos de Ismael, e estes são os seus nomes, pelas suas aldeias, e pelos seus castelos; doze príncipes de acordo com as suas nações.
17 And these [are] the years of the life of Ishmael, one hundred thirty-seven years; and Ishmael expired and died and was gathered unto his people.
17 E estes são os anos da vida de Ismael, cento e trinta e sete anos, e ele entregou o espírito e morreu, e foi reunido ao seu povo.
18 And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that [is] before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria; [and] he fell in the presence of all his brethren.
18 E eles habitaram desde Havilá até Sur, que está em frente ao Egito, quando se vai para a Assíria. E ele morreu na presença de todos os seus irmãos.
19 And these [are] the generations of Isaac, son of Abraham. Abraham begat Isaac;
19 E estas são as gerações de Isaque, filho de Abraão; Abraão gerou Isaque.
20 and Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel, the Aramean of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Aramean.
20 E Isaque era da idade de quarenta anos quando ele tomou como esposa Rebeca, filha de Betuel, o sírio de Padã-Arã, irmã de Labão, o sírio.
21 And Isaac prayed unto the LORD for his wife because she [was] barren; and the LORD accepted him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
21 E Isaque intercedeu ao SENHOR pela sua esposa, porque ela era estéril. E o SENHOR ouviu a intercessão dele, e Rebeca, sua esposa, concebeu.
22 And the sons struggled together within her; and she said, If [this is] so, why should I [live]? And she went to enquire of the LORD.
22 E os filhos lutavam dentro dela, e ela disse: Se é assim, por que sou eu assim? E ela foi consultar ao SENHOR.
23 And the LORD said unto her, Two nations [are] in thy womb, and two [manner of] peoples shall be separated from thy bowels; and [the one] people shall be stronger than [the other] people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
23 E o SENHOR lhe disse: Duas nações estão no teu ventre, e dois tipos de povos se dividirão das tuas entranhas; e um povo será mais forte do que o outro povo, e o mais velho servirá ao mais novo.
24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, [there were] twins in her womb.
24 E cumprindo os seus dias para dar à luz, eis que havia gêmeos em seu ventre.
25 And the first came out red, all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
25 E o primeiro saiu ruivo, todo ele peludo como uma veste de pelo, e chamaram o seu nome Esaú.
26 And afterwards his brother came out with Esau's heel grasped in his hand; and his name was called Jacob. And Isaac [was] sixty years old when Rebekah gave birth to them.
26 E depois dele veio seu irmão, e sua mão segurou no calcanhar de Esaú, e seu nome foi chamado Jacó. E Isaque era da idade de sessenta anos quando ela os gerou.
27 And the boys grew, and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob [was] an upright man, remaining in the tents.
27 E os meninos cresceram; e Esaú era um caçador habilidoso, um homem do campo. E Jacó era um homem simples, habitando em tendas.
28 And Isaac loved Esau because he ate of [his] venison; but Rebekah loved Jacob.
28 E Isaque amou Esaú, porque ele comia da sua caça; mas Rebeca amou Jacó.
29 And Jacob boiled pottage; and Esau came from the field, and he [was] faint;
29 E Jacó cozeu um ensopado; e Esaú veio do campo, e ele estava desfalecendo.
30 and Esau said to Jacob, Give me to eat, I pray thee, of that red [pottage]; for I [am] faint. Therefore was his name called Edom.
30 E Esaú disse a Jacó: Dá-me de comer, rogo-te, desse ensopado vermelho, pois eu estou desfalecendo. Por isso, seu nome foi chamado Edom.
31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
31 E Jacó disse: Vende-me neste dia a tua primogenitura.
32 And Esau said, Behold, I [am] at the point to die; and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
32 E Esaú disse: Eis que eu estou a ponto de morrer, de que me serve essa primogenitura?
33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he swore unto him and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
33 E Jacó disse: Jura-me neste dia. E ele lhe jurou, e vendeu sua primogenitura a Jacó.
34 Then Jacob gave Esau of the bread and of the pottage of lentils; and he ate and drank, and rose up, and went away. Thus Esau despised [his] birthright.:
34 Então Jacó deu a Esaú pão e ensopado de lentilhas. E ele comeu e bebeu, e se levantou, e foi pelo seu caminho. Assim Esaú desprezou sua primogenitura.
