1 But the LORD had said unto Abram, Depart out of thy country and from thy nature and from thy father's house unto a land that I will show thee;
1 Ora, disse o Senhor a Abrão: Sai da tua terra, da tua parentela e da casa de teu pai e vai para a terra que te mostrarei;
2 and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.
2 de ti farei uma grande nação, e te abençoarei, e te engrandecerei o nome. Sê tu uma bênção!
3 And I will bless those that bless thee and curse those that curse thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
3 Abençoarei os que te abençoarem e amaldiçoarei os que te amaldiçoarem; em ti serão benditas todas as famílias da terra.
4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him, and Lot went with him, and Abram [was] seventy-five years old when he departed out of Haran.
4 Partiu, pois, Abrão, como lho ordenara o Senhor , e Ló foi com ele. Tinha Abrão setenta e cinco anos quando saiu de Harã.
5 And Abram took Sarai, his wife, and Lot, his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.
5 Levou Abrão consigo a Sarai, sua mulher, e a Ló, filho de seu irmão, e todos os bens que haviam adquirido, e as pessoas que lhes acresceram em Harã. Partiram para a terra de Canaã; e lá chegaram.
6 And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite [was] then in the land.
6 Atravessou Abrão a terra até Siquém, até ao carvalho de Moré. Nesse tempo os cananeus habitavam essa terra.
7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land, and there he built an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
7 Apareceu o Senhor a Abrão e lhe disse: Darei à tua descendência esta terra. Ali edificou Abrão um altar ao Senhor , que lhe aparecera.
8 And he went from there unto a mountain on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, [having] Bethel on the west and Hai on the east; and there he built an altar unto the LORD and called upon the name of the LORD.
8 Passando dali para o monte ao oriente de Betel, armou a sua tenda, ficando Betel ao ocidente e Ai ao oriente; ali edificou um altar ao Senhor e invocou o nome do Senhor .
9 And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the Negev ([south desert]).
9 Depois, seguiu Abrão dali, indo sempre para o Neguebe.
10 And there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine [was] grievous in the land.
10 Havia fome naquela terra; desceu, pois, Abrão ao Egito, para aí ficar, porquanto era grande a fome na terra.
11 And it came to pass when he was come near to enter into Egypt that he said unto Sarai, his wife, Behold now, I know that thou [art] a fair woman to look upon;
11 Quando se aproximava do Egito, quase ao entrar, disse a Sarai, sua mulher: Ora, bem sei que és mulher de formosa aparência;
12 therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee that they shall say, This [is] his wife, and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.
12 os egípcios, quando te virem, vão dizer: É a mulher dele e me matarão, deixando-te com vida.
13 Say, I pray thee, thou [art] my sister, that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.
13 Dize, pois, que és minha irmã, para que me considerem por amor de ti e, por tua causa, me conservem a vida.
14 And it came to pass that when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she [was] very fair.
14 Tendo Abrão entrado no Egito, viram os egípcios que a mulher era sobremaneira formosa.
15 The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh, and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.
15 Viram-na os príncipes de Faraó e gabaram-na junto dele; e a mulher foi levada para a casa de Faraó.
16 And he treated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep and oxen and he asses and menservants and maidservants and she asses and camels.
16 Este, por causa dela, tratou bem a Abrão, o qual veio a ter ovelhas, bois, jumentos, escravos e escravas, jumentas e camelos.
17 But the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife.
17 Porém o Senhor puniu Faraó e a sua casa com grandes pragas, por causa de Sarai, mulher de Abrão.
18 And Pharaoh called Abram and said, What [is] this [that] thou hast done unto me? Why didst thou not tell me that she [was] thy wife?
18 Chamou, pois, Faraó a Abrão e lhe disse: Que é isso que me fizeste? Por que não me disseste que era ela tua mulher?
19 Why didst thou say, She [is] my sister? I might have taken her to me to wife; now, therefore, behold thy wife, take [her], and go away.
19 E me disseste ser tua irmã? Por isso, a tomei para ser minha mulher. Agora, pois, eis a tua mulher, toma-a e vai-te.
20 Then Pharaoh commanded [his] men concerning him; and they sent him away and his wife with all that he had.:
20 E Faraó deu ordens aos seus homens a respeito dele; e acompanharam-no, a ele, a sua mulher e a tudo que possuía.
