1 Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on [her] royal [apparel], and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house; and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.
1 Ao terceiro dia, Ester se aprontou com seus trajes reais e se pôs no pátio interior da casa do rei, defronte da residência do rei; o rei estava assentado no seu trono real fronteiro à porta da residência.
2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther, the queen, standing in the court, [that] she had grace in his sight; and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that [was] in his hand. So Esther drew near and touched the top of the sceptre.
2 Quando o rei viu a rainha Ester parada no pátio, alcançou ela favor perante ele; estendeu o rei para Ester o cetro de ouro que tinha na mão; Ester se chegou e tocou a ponta do cetro.
3 Then the king said unto her, What wilt thou, Queen Esther? And what [is] thy request? It shall be given thee, even to the half of the kingdom.
3 Então, lhe disse o rei: Que é o que tens, rainha Ester, ou qual é a tua petição? Até metade do reino se te dará.
4 And Esther answered, If [it seems] good to the king, let the king and Haman come today to the banquet that I have prepared for him.
4 Respondeu Ester: Se bem te parecer, venha o rei e Hamã, hoje, ao banquete que eu preparei ao rei.
5 Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste that he may do as Esther has said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
5 Então, disse o rei: Fazei apressar a Hamã, para que atendamos ao que Ester deseja. Vindo, pois, o rei e Hamã ao banquete que Ester havia preparado,
6 And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What [is] thy petition? And it shall be granted thee. What [is] thy request? Even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.
6 disse o rei a Ester, no banquete do vinho: Qual é a tua petição? E se te dará. Que desejas? Cumprir-se-á, ainda que seja metade do reino.
7 Then answered Esther and said, My petition and my request [is]:
7 Então, respondeu Ester e disse: Minha petição e desejo são o seguinte:
8 If I have found grace in the sight of the king and if it pleases the king to grant my petition and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do tomorrow as the king has commanded.
8 se achei favor perante o rei, e se bem parecer ao rei conceder-me a petição e cumprir o meu desejo, venha o rei com Hamã ao banquete que lhes hei de preparar amanhã, e, então, farei segundo o rei me concede.
9 Then Haman went forth that day joyful and with a glad heart, but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate [and] that he did not stand up nor move for him, he was filled with indignation against Mordecai.
9 Então, saiu Hamã, naquele dia, alegre e de bom ânimo; quando viu, porém, Mordecai à porta do rei e que não se levantara, nem se movera diante dele, então, se encheu de furor contra Mordecai.
10 Nevertheless, Haman refrained himself, and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends and Zeresh, his wife.
10 Hamã, porém, se conteve e foi para casa; e mandou vir os seus amigos e a Zeres, sua mulher.
11 And Haman told them of the glory of his riches and the multitude of his sons and all [the things] in which the king had promoted him and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.
11 Contou-lhes Hamã a glória das suas riquezas e a multidão de seus filhos, e tudo em que o rei o tinha engrandecido, e como o tinha exaltado sobre os príncipes e servos do rei.
12 Haman said, moreover, Even Esther, the queen, let no one come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself, and tomorrow I am also invited by her with the king.
12 Disse mais Hamã: A própria rainha Ester a ninguém fez vir com o rei ao banquete que tinha preparado, senão a mim; e também para amanhã estou convidado por ela, juntamente com o rei.
13 Yet all this avails me nothing so long as I see Mordecai, the Jew, sitting at the king's gate.
13 Porém tudo isto não me satisfaz, enquanto vir o judeu Mordecai assentado à porta do rei.
14 Then said Zeresh, his wife, and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made fifty cubits high, and tomorrow speak unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged upon it; then go in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman, and he caused the gallows to be made.:
14 Então, lhe disse Zeres, sua mulher, e todos os seus amigos: Faça-se uma forca de cinquenta côvados de altura, e, pela manhã, dize ao rei que nela enforquem Mordecai; então, entra alegre com o rei ao banquete. A sugestão foi bem-aceita por Hamã, que mandou levantar a forca.
