1 Say ye unto your brethren: 'Ammi'; and to your sisters, 'Ruhamah.'
1 Dizei a vossos irmãos: Ami; e a vossas irmãs: Ruama.
2 Plead with your mother, plead; for she is not My wife, neither am I her husband; and let her put away her harlotries from her face, and her adulteries from between her breasts;
2 Pleiteia com tua mãe, pleiteia; pois ela não é minha esposa, e eu não sou seu marido; e afaste ela as suas prostituições da sua vista, e os seus adultérios de entre os seus seios;
3 Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.
3 para que eu não a deixe nua, e a ponha como no dia em que nasceu, e a faça como um deserto, e a torne como uma terra seca, e a mate de sede.
4 And I will not have compassion upon her children; for they are children of harlotry.
4 E eu não terei misericórdia de seus filhos, porque são filhos de prostituições.
5 For their mother hath played the harlot, she that conceived them hath done shamefully; for she said: 'I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.'
5 Porque sua mãe se prostituiu; aquela que os concebeu se comportou vergonhosamente, porque ela disse: Irei atrás de meus amantes, que me dão o meu pão e a minha água, a minha lã e o meu linho, o meu óleo e a minha bebida.
6 Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and I will make a wall against her, that she shall not find her paths.
6 Portanto, eis que cercarei o teu caminho com espinhos; e farei um muro, para que ela não ache os seus caminhos.
7 And she shall run after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them, and she shall seek them, but shall not find them; then shall she say: 'I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.'
7 Ela irá atrás de seus amantes, mas não os alcançará; ela os buscará, mas não os encontrará; então ela dirá: Irei e retornarei ao meu primeiro marido, porque eu estava melhor do que agora.
8 For she did not know that it was I that gave her the corn, and the wine, and the oil, and multiplied unto her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.
8 Porquanto, ela não sabia que eu lhe dei o grão, e o vinho, e o azeite, e que lhe multipliquei a prata e o ouro, que eles prepararam para Baal.
9 Therefore will I take back My corn in the time thereof, and My wine in the season thereof, and will snatch away My wool and My flax given to cover her nakedness.
9 Portanto, retornarei, e tirarei o meu grão a seu tempo e o meu vinho na sua estação, e reaverei a minha lã e o meu linho, dados para cobrir a sua nudez.
10 And now will I uncover her shame in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of My hand.
10 E agora descobrirei a sua lascívia diante dos olhos dos seus amantes, e ninguém a livrará da minha mão.
11 I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feasts, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her appointed seasons.
11 E farei com que toda a sua alegria cesse, os seus dias festivos, as suas luas novas, e os seus shabats, e todas as suas festas solenes.
12 And I will lay waste her vines and her fig-trees, whereof she hath said: 'These are my hire that my lovers have given me'; and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.
12 E destruirei as suas vinhas e as suas figueiras, de que ela diz: Estas são as minhas recompensas que os meus amantes me deram; eu, pois, farei delas uma floresta, e as feras do campo as comerão.
13 And I will visit upon her the days of the Baalim, wherein she offered unto them, and decked herself with her ear-rings and her jewels, and went after her lovers, and forgot Me, saith the LORD.
13 Eu a visitarei nos seus dias de Baalins, nos quais ela lhes queimou incenso, e se adornou com seus brincos e suas joias, e foi atrás de seus amantes, e se esqueceu de mim, diz o SENHOR.
14 Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly unto her.
14 Portanto, eis que eu a atrairei, e a levarei para o deserto, e lhe falarei com carinho.
15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope; and she shall respond there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
15 E lhe darei as suas vinhas dali, e o vale de Acor, por porta de esperança; e ali ela cantará, como nos dias de sua mocidade, e como no dia em que subiu da terra do Egito.
16 And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call Me Ishi, and shalt call Me no more Baali.
16 E será que naquele dia, diz o SENHOR, tu me chamarás de Meu Marido, e não mais de Baal.
17 For I will take away the names of the Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be mentioned by their name.
17 Pois tirarei os nomes dos baalins da sua boca, e não mais serão lembrados pelos seus nomes.
18 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground; and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the land, and will make them to lie down safely.
18 E naquele dia farei um pacto para eles com as feras do campo, e com as aves do céu, e com as coisas rastejantes do chão; e da terra quebrarei o arco, e a espada, e a batalha, e os farei deitar em segurança.
19 And I will betroth thee unto Me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto Me in righteousness, and in justice, and in lovingkindness, and in compassion.
19 E eu te desposarei para sempre; sim, eu te desposarei comigo em justiça, e em juízo, e em benignidade, e em misericórdias.
20 And I will betroth thee unto Me in faithfulness; and thou shalt know the LORD.
20 E eu te desposarei também em fidelidade, e tu conhecerás ao SENHOR.
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, I will respond, saith the LORD, I will respond to the heavens, and they shall respond to the earth;
21 E acontecerá naquele dia que eu ouvirei, diz o SENHOR; eu ouvirei os céus, e eles ouvirão a terra.
22 And the earth shall respond to the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall respond to Jezreel.
22 E a terra ouvirá o trigo, e ao vinho, e ao azeite, e eles ouvirão Jezreel.
23 And I will sow her unto Me in the land; and I will have compassion upon her that had not obtained compassion; and I will say to them that were not My people: 'Thou art My people'; and they shall say: 'Thou art my God.'
23 E a semearei para mim na terra, e terei misericórdia dela, que não obteve misericórdia; e eu direi àquele que não era meu povo: Tu és meu povo; e eles dirão: Tu és meu Deus.
