1 And I said: Hear, I pray you, ye heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel: is it not for you to know justice?
1 Disse eu: Ouvi, agora, vós, cabeças de Jacó, e vós, chefes da casa de Israel: Não é a vós outros que pertence saber o juízo?
2 Who hate the good, and love the evil; who rob their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;
2 Os que aborreceis o bem e amais o mal; e deles arrancais a pele e a carne de cima dos seus ossos;
3 Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them, and break their bones; yea, they chop them in pieces, as that which is in the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.
3 que comeis a carne do meu povo, e lhes arrancais a pele, e lhes esmiuçais os ossos, e os repartis como para a panela e como carne no meio do caldeirão?
4 Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but He will not answer them; yea, He will hide His face from them at that time, according as they have wrought evil in their doings.
4 Então, chamarão ao Senhor , mas não os ouvirá; antes, esconderá deles a sua face, naquele tempo, visto que eles fizeram mal nas suas obras.
5 Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people to err; that cry: 'Peace', when their teeth have any thing to bite; and whoso putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him:
5 Assim diz o Senhor acerca dos profetas que fazem errar o meu povo e que clamam: Paz, quando têm o que mastigar, mas apregoam guerra santa contra aqueles que nada lhes metem na boca.
6 Therefore it shall be night unto you, that ye shall have no vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down upon the prophets, and the day shall be black over them.
6 Portanto, se vos fará noite sem visão, e tereis treva sem adivinhação; pôr-se-á o sol sobre os profetas, e sobre eles se enegrecerá o dia.
7 And the seers shall be put to shame, and the diviners confounded; yea, they shall all cover their upper lips; for there shall be no answer of God.
7 Os videntes se envergonharão, e os adivinhadores se confundirão; sim, todos eles cobrirão o seu bigode, porque não há resposta de Deus.
8 But I truly am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of justice, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
8 Eu, porém, estou cheio do poder do Espírito do Senhor , cheio de juízo e de força, para declarar a Jacó a sua transgressão e a Israel, o seu pecado.
9 Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel, that abhor justice, and pervert all equity;
9 Ouvi, agora, isto, vós, cabeças de Jacó, e vós, chefes da casa de Israel, que abominais o juízo, e perverteis tudo o que é direito,
10 That build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
10 e edificais a Sião com sangue e a Jerusalém, com perversidade.
11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money; yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say: 'Is not the LORD in the midst of us? No evil shall come upon us'?
11 Os seus cabeças dão as sentenças por suborno, os seus sacerdotes ensinam por interesse, e os seus profetas adivinham por dinheiro; e ainda se encostam ao Senhor , dizendo: Não está o Senhor no meio de nós? Nenhum mal nos sobrevirá.
12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.
12 Portanto, por causa de vós, Sião será lavrada como um campo, e Jerusalém se tornará em montões de ruínas, e o monte do templo, numa colina coberta de mato.
