1 Let me sing of my well-beloved, a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My well-beloved had a vineyard in a very fruitful hill;
1 Agora, cantarei a meu amado uma canção sobre seu vinhedo: Meu amado tinha um vinhedo numa colina muito fértil.
2 And he digged it, and cleared it of stones, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also hewed out a vat therein; and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
2 Ele arou a terra, tirou as pedras e plantou as melhores videiras. No meio do vinhedo, construiu uma torre de vigia e, junto às rochas, fez um tanque de prensar. Então esperou pela colheita de uvas doces, mas o vinhedo só produziu uvas amargas.
3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.
3 Agora, habitantes de Jerusalém e Judá, julguem entre mim e meu vinhedo.
4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?
4 O que mais poderia ter feito por meu vinhedo que já não fiz? Por que, quando esperava uvas doces, ele produziu uvas amargas?
5 And now come, I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; I will break down the fence thereof, and it shall be trodden down;
5 Agora lhes digo o que farei com meu vinhedo: Removerei suas cercas e deixarei que seja destruído. Derrubarei seus muros e deixarei que seja pisoteado.
6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned nor hoed, but there shall come up briers and thorns; I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
6 Farei dele um lugar desolado, onde as videiras não são podadas e a terra não é capinada, um lugar cheio de espinhos e mato. Darei ordem às nuvens para que não derramem chuva sobre ele.
7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah the plant of His delight; and He looked for justice, but behold violence; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
7 A nação de Israel é o vinhedo do S enhor dos Exércitos, o povo de Judá é seu jardim agradável. Ele esperava colher justiça, mas encontrou opressão. Esperava colher retidão, mas ouviu gritos de angústia.
8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no room, and ye be made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!
8 Que aflição espera vocês que compram casas e mais casas, campos e mais campos, até não haver lugar para outros e vocês se tornarem os únicos donos da terra!
9 In mine ears said the LORD of hosts: of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.
9 Mas eu ouvi o S enhor dos Exércitos fazer um juramento solene: “Muitas casas ficarão desertas; até as belas mansões ficarão vazias.
10 For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of a homer shall yield an ephah.
10 Um vinhedo de dez jeiras não produzirá vinte litros de vinho; dez cestos grandes
11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that tarry late into the night, till wine inflame them!
11 Que aflição espera os que se levantam cedo pela manhã, para começar a beber, e passam a noite tomando vinho, para ficar embriagados.
12 And the harp and the psaltery, the tabret and the pipe, and wine, are in their feasts; but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither have they considered the operation of His hands.
12 Em suas festas sempre há vinho e belas músicas, de lira e harpa, tamborim e flauta, mas nunca pensam no S não se dão conta do que ele faz.
13 Therefore My people are gone into captivity, for want of knowledge; and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude are parched with thirst.
13 Por isso meu povo irá para o exílio num lugar distante, pois não me conhece. Os nobres morrerão de fome, e a multidão morrerá de sede.
14 Therefore the nether-world hath enlarged her desire, and opened her mouth without measure; and down goeth their glory, and their tumult, and their uproar, and he that rejoiceth among them.
14 A sepultura saliva de ansiedade, com a boca bem aberta. Os mais importantes e os mais simples e toda a multidão embriagada serão devorados.
15 And man is bowed down, and man is humbled, and the eyes of the lofty are humbled;
15 A humanidade será abatida, o povo será rebaixado; até os arrogantes baixarão o olhar em humilhação.
16 But the LORD of hosts is exalted through justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified through righteousness.
16 O S enhor dos Exércitos, porém, será exaltado em sua justiça; a santidade de Deus será demonstrada em sua retidão.
17 Then shall the lambs feed as in their pasture, and the waste places of the fat ones shall wanderers eat.
17 Naquele dia, os cordeiros encontrarão bons pastos; as ovelhas gordas e os cabritos
18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope,
18 Que aflição espera os que arrastam sua perversidade com cordas feitas de mentiras, que arrastam atrás de si o pecado como quem puxa uma carroça!
19 That say: 'Let Him make speed, let Him hasten His work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!'
19 Zombam de Deus e dizem: “Anda logo! Toma uma providência! Queremos ver o que és capaz de fazer. Que o Santo de Israel realize seu plano, pois queremos saber o que é”.
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that change darkness into light, and light into darkness; that change bitter into sweet, and sweet into bitter!
20 Que aflição espera os que chamam o mal de bem e o bem de mal, a escuridão de luz e a luz de escuridão, o amargo de doce e o doce de amargo!
21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
21 Que aflição espera os que são sábios aos próprios olhos e pensam ter entendimento!
22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink;
22 Que aflição espera os que são heróis em tomar vinho e se gabam de quanta bebida conseguem ingerir!
23 That justify the wicked for a reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
23 Aceitam subornos para deixar o perverso em liberdade e negam justiça ao inocente.
24 Therefore as the tongue of fire devoureth the stubble, and as the chaff is consumed in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, and contemned the word of the Holy One of Israel.
24 Portanto, assim como o fogo consome a palha e o capim seco se desfaz com a chama, suas raízes apodrecerão e suas flores murcharão. Pois rejeitaram a lei do S desprezaram a palavra do Santo de Israel.
25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against His people, and He hath stretched forth His hand against them, and hath smitten them, and the hills did tremble, and their carcasses were as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
25 Por isso a ira do S enhor se acende contra seu povo, por isso ele levantou sua mão para esmagá-los. Os montes estremecem, e os cadáveres do povo estão espalhados pelas ruas como lixo. Mesmo assim, a ira do S sua mão ainda está levantada para castigar.
26 And He will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth; and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly;
26 Ele enviará um sinal a nações distantes, assobiará para os que estão nos confins da terra; eles virão correndo.
27 None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken;
27 Não se cansarão nem tropeçarão; ninguém descansará nem dormirá. Nenhum cinto estará solto, nenhuma correia de sandália se arrebentará.
28 Whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses' hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind;
28 Suas flechas estarão afiadas, seus arcos, prontos para a batalha. Os cascos de seus cavalos soltarão faíscas, as rodas de seus carros girarão como um turbilhão.
29 Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions, yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and carry it away safe, and there shall be none to deliver.
29 Rugirão como leões, como os leões mais fortes. Rosnarão e se lançarão sobre suas vítimas, e as levarão embora; ninguém poderá livrá-las.
30 And they shall roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea; and if one look unto the land, behold darkness and distress, and the light is darkened in the skies thereof.
30 Naquele dia, rugirão sobre suas vítimas como ruge o mar. Se alguém olhar por toda a terra, só verá trevas e aflição; até a luz será obscurecida pelas nuvens.
