1 Let me sing of my well-beloved, a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My well-beloved had a vineyard in a very fruitful hill;
1 Agora cantarei ao meu amado o seu cântico a respeito da sua vinha. O meu amado teve uma vinha numa colina fértil.
2 And he digged it, and cleared it of stones, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also hewed out a vat therein; and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
2 Ele cavou a terra, tirou as pedras e plantou as melhores mudas de videira. No meio da vinha ele construiu uma torre e fez também um lagar. Ele esperava que desse uvas boas, mas deu uvas bravas.
3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.
3 “E agora, ó moradores de Jerusalém e homens de Judá, peço que julguem entre mim e a minha vinha.
4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?
4 Que mais se podia fazer à minha vinha, que eu não lhe tenha feito? E como, esperando eu que desse uvas boas, veio a produzir uvas bravas?”
5 And now come, I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; I will break down the fence thereof, and it shall be trodden down;
5 “E agora lhes darei a conhecer o que pretendo fazer com a minha vinha: vou tirar a cerca que está ao redor, para que a vinha sirva de pasto; derrubarei o seu muro, para que ela seja pisoteada.
6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned nor hoed, but there shall come up briers and thorns; I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
6 Farei dela um lugar abandonado; não será podada, nem cavada, mas crescerão nela espinheiros e ervas daninhas. Também darei ordem às nuvens para que não derramem chuva sobre ela.”
7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah the plant of His delight; and He looked for justice, but behold violence; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
7 Porque a vinha do é a casa de Israel, e os homens de Judá são a planta preferida do Este esperava retidão, mas eis aí opressão; esperava justiça, mas eis aí clamor por causa da injustiça.
8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no room, and ye be made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!
8 Ai dos que ajuntam casas e mais casas, reúnem para si campos e mais campos, até que não haja mais lugar, e ficam como únicos moradores no meio da terra!
9 In mine ears said the LORD of hosts: of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.
9 Eu ouvi o Senhor dos Exércitos dizer isto: “Na verdade, muitas casas ficarão desertas, até as grandes e belas ficarão sem moradores.
10 For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of a homer shall yield an ephah.
10 Uma grande vinha produzirá somente alguns litros de vinho, e um saco cheio de semente não dará mais do que alguns quilos de trigo.”
11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that tarry late into the night, till wine inflame them!
11 Ai dos que se levantam pela manhã para logo se embriagarem, e continuam até alta noite, até que o vinho os esquente!
12 And the harp and the psaltery, the tabret and the pipe, and wine, are in their feasts; but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither have they considered the operation of His hands.
12 Liras e harpas, tamborins e flautas — e vinho — não faltam nos seus banquetes; porém não consideram os feitos do nem olham para as obras das suas mãos.
13 Therefore My people are gone into captivity, for want of knowledge; and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude are parched with thirst.
13 Portanto, o meu povo será levado cativo por falta de entendimento; os seus nobres passarão fome, e o povo simples morrerá de sede.
14 Therefore the nether-world hath enlarged her desire, and opened her mouth without measure; and down goeth their glory, and their tumult, and their uproar, and he that rejoiceth among them.
14 Por isso, a sepultura aumentou o seu apetite e abriu ao máximo a sua boca. Para lá desce o esplendor de Jerusalém e a sua multidão, o seu ruído e os que nela se alegram.
15 And man is bowed down, and man is humbled, and the eyes of the lofty are humbled;
15 Então o povo será abatido e as pessoas se humilharão; e os olhos dos orgulhosos serão humilhados.
16 But the LORD of hosts is exalted through justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified through righteousness.
16 Mas o Senhor dos Exércitos será exaltado em juízo; Deus, o Santo, será santificado em justiça.
17 Then shall the lambs feed as in their pasture, and the waste places of the fat ones shall wanderers eat.
17 Então os cordeiros pastarão ali como se estivessem no seu pasto; e os nômades se nutrirão dos campos que os ricos deixaram abandonados.
18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope,
18 Ai dos que puxam para si a iniquidade com cordões de injustiça, que puxam o pecado como se faz com as cordas de uma carroça!
19 That say: 'Let Him make speed, let Him hasten His work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!'
19 E dizem: “Que Deus se apresse e termine logo a sua obra, para que a vejamos! Que se aproxime e se manifeste o conselho do Santo de Israel, para que o conheçamos!”
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that change darkness into light, and light into darkness; that change bitter into sweet, and sweet into bitter!
20 Ai dos que ao mal chamam bem e ao bem chamam mal; que fazem das trevas luz e da luz fazem trevas; que mudam o amargo em doce e o doce mudam em amargo!
21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
21 Ai dos que são sábios aos seus próprios olhos e inteligentes em seu próprio conceito!
22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink;
22 Ai dos que são heróis para beber vinho e valentes para misturar bebida forte;
23 That justify the wicked for a reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
23 que por suborno justificam o ímpio, mas ao justo negam justiça!
24 Therefore as the tongue of fire devoureth the stubble, and as the chaff is consumed in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, and contemned the word of the Holy One of Israel.
24 Portanto, assim como as labaredas consomem a palha, e a erva seca se desfaz pela chama, assim a raiz deles será como podridão, e a flor deles subirá como pó; porque rejeitaram a lei do e desprezaram a palavra do Santo de Israel.
25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against His people, and He hath stretched forth His hand against them, and hath smitten them, and the hills did tremble, and their carcasses were as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
25 Por isso, a ira do Senhor se acendeu contra o seu povo, povo contra o qual estendeu a mão e ao qual castigou. Os montes tremeram e os seus cadáveres são como lixo no meio das ruas. Nem com tudo isto se desviou a ira de Deus, e a mão dele continua estendida.
26 And He will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth; and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly;
26 Ele levantará um estandarte para as nações distantes e lhes assobiará para que venham das extremidades da terra; e eis que elas vêm rapidamente, com toda pressa.
27 None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken;
27 Não há entre elas quem esteja cansado, nem quem tropece; ninguém dormita, nem dorme. Eles não desatam o cinto dos seus lombos, e as correias das suas sandálias não se rompem.
28 Whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses' hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind;
28 As suas flechas são afiadas, e todos os seus arcos, entesados. Os cascos dos seus cavalos são duros como pedra, e as rodas dos seus carros de guerra são como um redemoinho.
29 Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions, yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and carry it away safe, and there shall be none to deliver.
29 O rugido deles é como o do leão; rugem como filhos de leão, e, rosnando, arrebatam a presa e a levam, e não há quem a livre.
30 And they shall roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea; and if one look unto the land, behold darkness and distress, and the light is darkened in the skies thereof.
30 Naquele dia, o bramido contra eles será como o bramido do mar; se alguém olhar para a terra, eis que só haverá trevas e angústia; a luz se escurecerá em densas nuvens.
