Isaías 32

1 Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and as for princes, they shall rule in justice.
1 Vejam! Um rei reinará com retidão, e príncipes governarão com justiça.
2 And a man shall be as in a hiding-place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as by the watercourses in a dry place, as in the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
2 Cada homem será como um esconderijo contra o vento e um abrigo contra a tempestade, como correntes de água numa terra seca e como a sombra de uma grande rocha no deserto.
3 And the eyes of them that see shall not be closed, and the ears of them that hear shall attend.
3 Então os olhos dos que vêem não estarão mais fechados, e os ouvidos dos que ouvem escutarão.
4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
4 A mente do precipitado saberá julgar, e a língua gaguejante falará com facilidade e clareza.
5 The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be noble.
5 O tolo já não será chamado nobre e o homem sem caráter não será tido em alta estima.
6 For the vile person will speak villainy, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise ungodliness, and to utter wickedness against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and to cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
6 Pois o insensato fala com insensatez e só pensa no mal: Ele pratica a maldade e espalha mentiras sobre o Senhor; deixa o faminto sem nada e priva de água o sedento.
7 The instruments also of the churl are evil; he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, and the needy when he speaketh right.
7 As artimanhas do homem sem caráter são perversas; ele inventa planos maldosos para destruir com mentiras o pobre, mesmo quando a súplica deste é justa.
8 But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.
8 Mas o homem nobre faz planos nobres, e graças aos seus feitos nobres permanece firme.
9 Rise up, ye women that are at ease, and hear my voice; ye confident daughters, give ear unto my speech.
9 Vocês, mulheres tão complacentes, levantem-se e escutem-me! Vocês, filhas que se sentem seguras, ouçam o que lhes vou dizer!
10 After a year and days shall ye be troubled, ye confident women; for the vintage shall fail, the ingathering shall not come.
10 Daqui a pouco mais de um ano, vocês, que se sentem seguras, ficarão apavoradas; a colheita de uvas falhará, e a colheita de frutas não virá.
11 Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye confident ones; strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins,
11 Tremam, vocês, mulheres tranqüilas! Estremeçam, vocês, que se sentem seguras! Arranquem suas vestes, e vistam roupas de lamento na cintura.
12 Smiting upon the breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine;
12 Batam no peito e chorem pelos campos agradáveis, pelas videiras frutíferas
13 For the land of my people whereon thorns and briers come up; yea, for all the houses of joy and the joyous city.
13 e pela terra do meu povo, terra infestada de espinhos e roseiras bravas; sim, pranteiem por todas as casas cheias de júbilo e por esta cidade exultante.
14 For the palace shall be forsaken; the city with its stir shall be deserted; the mound and the tower shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;
14 A fortaleza será abandonada, a cidade barulhenta ficará deserta, a cidadela e a torre de sentinela se tornarão covis, uma delícia para os jumentos, uma pastagem para os rebanhos,
15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness become a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
15 até que sobre nós o Espírito seja derramado do alto, e o deserto se transforme em campo fértil, e o campo fértil pareça uma floresta.
16 Then justice shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness shall abide in the fruitful field.
16 A justiça habitará no deserto, e a retidão viverá no campo fértil.
17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and confidence for ever.
17 O fruto da justiça será paz; o resultado da justiça será tranqüilidade e confiança para sempre.
18 And my people shall abide in a peaceable habitation, and in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting-places.
18 O meu povo viverá em locais pacíficos, em casas seguras, em tranqüilos lugares de descanso,
19 And it shall hail, in the downfall of the forest; but the city shall descend into the valley.
19 mesmo que a saraiva arrase a floresta e a cidade seja nivelada ao pó.
20 Happy are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth freely the feet of the ox and the ass.
20 Como vocês serão felizes, semeando perto das águas, e deixando soltos os bois e os jumentos!
