1 Oh that thou wert as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! When I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, and none would despise me.
1 Ah, quem dera você fosse meu irmão, amamentado nos seios de minha mãe! Então, se eu o encontrasse fora de casa, eu o beijaria, e ninguém me desprezaria.
2 I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother's house, that thou mightest instruct me; I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine, of the juice of my pomegranate.
2 Eu o conduziria e o traria à casa de minha mãe, e você me ensinaria. Eu lhe daria vinho aromatizado para beber, o néctar das minhas romãs.
3 His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.
3 O seu braço esquerdo esteja debaixo da minha cabeça e o seu braço direito me abrace.
4 'I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem: Why should ye awaken, or stir up love, until it please?'
4 Mulheres de Jerusalém, eu as faço jurar: Não despertem nem incomodem o amor enquanto ele não o quiser.
5 Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? Under the apple-tree I awakened thee; there thy mother was in travail with thee; there was she in travail and brought thee forth.
5 Quem vem subindo do deserto, apoiada em seu amado? Debaixo da macieira eu o despertei; ali esteve a sua mãe em trabalho de parto, ali sofreu as dores aquela que o deu à luz.
6 Set me as a seal upon thy heart, as a seal upon thine arm; for love is strong as death, jealousy is cruel as the grave; the flashes thereof are flashes of fire, a very flame of the LORD.
6 Coloque-me como um selo sobre o seu coração; como um selo sobre o seu braço; pois o amor é tão forte quanto a morte, e o ciúme é tão inflexível quanto a sepultura. Suas brasas são fogo ardente, são labaredas do Senhor.
7 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it; if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, he would utterly be contemned.
7 Nem muitas águas conseguem apagar o amor; os rios não conseguem levá-lo na correnteza. Se alguém oferecesse todas as riquezas da sua casa para adquirir o amor, seria totalmente desprezado.
8 We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts; what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for?
8 Temos uma irmãzinha; seus seios ainda não estão crescidos. O que faremos com nossa irmã no dia em que for pedida em casamento?
9 If she be a wall, we will build upon her a turret of silver; and if she be a door, we will enclose her with boards of cedar.
9 Se ela for um muro, construiremos sobre ela uma torre de prata. Se ela for uma porta, nós a reforçaremos com tábuas de cedro.
10 I am a wall, and my breasts like the towers thereof; then was I in his eyes as one that found peace.
10 Eu sou um muro, e meus seios são as suas torres. Assim me tornei aos olhos dele como alguém que dá paz.
11 Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-hamon; he gave over the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof brought in a thousand pieces of silver.
11 Salomão possuía uma vinha em Baal-Hamom; ele entregou a sua vinha a arrendatários. Cada um devia trazer pelos frutos da vinha doze quilos de prata.
12 My vineyard, which is mine, is before me; thou, O Solomon, shalt have the thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred.
12 Quanto à minha própria vinha, essa está em meu poder; os doze quilos de prata são para você, ó Salomão, e dois quilos e meio são para os que tomaram conta dos seus frutos.
13 Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken for thy voice: 'Cause me to hear it.'
13 Você, que habita nos jardins, os amigos desejam ouvi-la; deixe-me ouvir a sua voz!
14 Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a gazelle or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
14 Venha depressa, meu amado, e seja como uma gazela, ou como um cervo novo saltando sobre os montes carregados de especiarias.
