1 And David made him houses in the city of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
1 Para o seu próprio uso, Davi construiu casas na Cidade de Davi . Também preparou um lugar para a arca da aliança de Deus e armou uma barraca para ela.
2 Then David said: 'None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites; for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of the LORD, and to minister unto Him for ever.'
2 Então disse: — Somente
3 And David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto its place, which he had prepared for it.
3 Então Davi chamou todo o povo de Israel a Jerusalém a fim de trazer a arca da aliança para o lugar que ele havia preparado para ela.
4 And David gathered together the sons of Aaron, and the Levites;
4 Em seguida mandou buscar os descendentes de Arão e os levitas.
5 of the sons of Kohath: Uriel the chief, and his brethren a hundred and twenty;
5 Do grupo de famílias levitas de Coate veio Uriel, chefiando cento e vinte homens do seu grupo de famílias;
6 of the sons of Merari: Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty;
6 do grupo de famílias de Merari veio Asaías, chefiando duzentos e vinte homens;
7 of the sons of Gershom: Joel the chief, and his brethren a hundred and thirty;

8 of the sons of Elizaphan: Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred;

9 of the sons of Hebron: Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore;

11 And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,
11 Davi chamou os sacerdotes Zadoque e Abiatar e os levitas Uriel, Asaías, Joel, Semaías, Eliel e Aminadabe.
12 and said unto them: 'Ye are the heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, unto the place that I have prepared for it.
12 Então disse aos levitas: — Vocês são os líderes dos grupos de famílias levitas.
13 For because ye bore it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought Him not according to the ordinance.'
13 Não foram vocês que a carregaram da primeira vez, e por isso o Senhor , nosso Deus, nos castigou por não o termos consultado como devíamos.
14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel.
14 Então os sacerdotes e os levitas se purificaram a fim de carregar a arca da aliança do Senhor , o Deus de Israel.
15 And the children of the Levites bore the ark of God upon their shoulders with the bars thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.
15 Os levitas a carregaram nos ombros pelos cabos, como Deus havia mandado por meio de Moisés.
16 And David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren the singers, with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding aloud and lifting up the voice with joy.
16 Davi mandou que os líderes dos levitas nomeassem vários levitas para cantar e para tocar música alegre nas harpas , e nas liras , e com os pratos. Dos grupos de famílias de cantores eles escolheram para tocar pratos de metal os seguintes homens: Hemã, filho de Joel; o seu parente Asafe, filho de Berequias; e Etã, filho de Cuchaías, que era do grupo de famílias de Merari. Escolheram os levitas Zacarias, Jaaziel, Semiramote, Jeiel, Uni, Eliabe, Maaseias e Benaías para ajudá-los; eles tocavam as harpas, que alcançavam notas altas. Para tocarem as liras, que alcançavam notas baixas, escolheram os seguintes levitas: Matitias, Elifeleu, Micneias, Azazias e os guardas do Templo, Obede-Edom e Jeiel.
17 So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

18 and with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Eliphalehu, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the doorkeepers.

19 So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan ,were appointed , with cymbals of brass to sound aloud;

20 and Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries set to Alamoth;
20 — ausente —
21 and Mattithiah, and Eliphalehu, and Mikneiahu, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith, to lead.
21 — ausente —
22 And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was over the song; he was master in the song, because he was skilful.
22 Porque era entendido em música, Quenanias foi escolhido para dirigir os músicos levitas. Berequias e Elcana, junto com Obede-Edom e Jeías, foram escolhidos para serem os guardas da arca da aliança. Para tocarem trombeta em frente da arca, foram escolhidos os sacerdotes Sebanias, Josafá, Netanel, Amasai, Zacarias, Benaías e Eliézer.
23 And Berechiah and Elkanah were door-keepers for the ark.

24 And Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethanel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God; and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.

25 So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.
25 Então o rei Davi, os líderes de Israel e os comandantes militares foram até a casa de Obede-Edom buscar a arca da aliança e fizeram uma grande festa.
26 And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they sacrificed seven bullocks and seven rams.
26 E, como Deus estava ajudando os levitas que carregavam a arca, foram oferecidos em sacrifício sete touros e sete carneiros.
27 And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bore the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the singers in the song; and David had upon him an ephod of linen.
27 Davi estava vestido com uma roupa feita do mais fino linho; do mesmo jeito também estavam vestidos os músicos, Quenanias, que era o seu líder, e os levitas que carregavam a arca. Davi usava ainda um manto sacerdotal feito de linho.
28 Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the horn, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with psalteries and harps.
28 E assim todos os israelitas subiram até Jerusalém, acompanhando a arca com gritos de alegria, ao som de trombetas, de cornetas feitas de chifre de carneiro, de pratos e de música de harpas e liras .
29 And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and making merry; and she despised him in her heart.
29 Quando a arca estava entrando na cidade, Mical, filha de Saul, olhou pela janela e viu o rei Davi dançando e pulando de alegria. Então sentiu desprezo por ele.
