¹ And David made him houses in the city of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

¹ E Davi fez para si casas na cidade de Davi, e preparou um lugar para a arca de Deus, e armou para ela uma tenda.

² Then David said: 'None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites; for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of the LORD, and to minister unto Him for ever.'

² Então, Davi disse: Ninguém deve carregar a arca de Deus, senão os levitas; porque o SENHOR os escolheu para carregar a arca de Deus, e para sempre ministrar diante dele.

³ And David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto its place, which he had prepared for it.

³ E Davi reuniu todo o Israel em Jerusalém, para fazer subir a arca do SENHOR ao seu lugar, o qual ele havia preparado.

⁴ And David gathered together the sons of Aaron, and the Levites;

⁴ E Davi reuniu os filhos de Arão, e os levitas;

⁵ of the sons of Kohath: Uriel the chief, and his brethren a hundred and twenty;

⁵ e dos filhos de Coate: Uriel, o chefe; e os seus irmãos, cento e vinte;

⁶ of the sons of Merari: Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty;

⁶ e dos filhos de Merari: Asaías, o chefe; e os seus irmãos, duzentos e vinte;

⁷ of the sons of Gershom: Joel the chief, and his brethren a hundred and thirty;

⁷ dos filhos de Gérson: Joel, o chefe; e os seus irmãos, cento e trinta;

⁸ of the sons of Elizaphan: Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred;

⁸ dos filhos de Elizafã: Semaías, o chefe; e os seus irmãos, duzentos.

⁹ of the sons of Hebron: Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore;

⁹ dos filhos de Hebrom: Eliel, o chefe; e os seus irmãos, oitenta;

¹⁰ of the sons of Uzziel: Amminadab the chief, and his brethren a hundred and twelve.

¹⁰ dos filhos de Uziel: Aminadabe, o chefe; e os seus irmãos, cento e doze;

¹¹ And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

¹¹ E Davi chamou Zadoque e Abiatar, os sacerdotes; e os levitas: Uriel, Asaías, e Joel, Semaías, e Eliel e Aminadabe,

¹² and said unto them: 'Ye are the heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, unto the place that I have prepared for it.

¹² e disse-lhes: Vós sois os chefes dos pais dos levitas; santificai-vos, tanto vós, como os vossos irmãos, para que possais fazer subir a arca do SENHOR Deus de Israel até o lugar que preparei para ela.

¹³ For because ye bore it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought Him not according to the ordinance.'

¹³ Porque, como vós não o fizestes da primeira vez, o SENHOR nosso Deus fez uma fenda sobre nós, pois não o buscamos segundo a ordem devida.

¹⁴ So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel.

¹⁴ Assim, os sacerdotes e os levitas se santificaram para fazer subir a arca do SENHOR Deus de Israel.

¹⁵ And the children of the Levites bore the ark of God upon their shoulders with the bars thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.

¹⁵ E os filhos dos levitas carregaram a arca de Deus sobre os seus ombros, com as suas hastes sobre eles, como Moisés ordenou, segundo a palavra do SENHOR.

¹⁶ And David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren the singers, with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding aloud and lifting up the voice with joy.

¹⁶ E Davi falou com os chefes dos levitas para indicarem os seus irmãos para serem os cantores, com instrumentos de música, saltérios, harpas e címbalos, soando ao erguerem as suas vozes com alegria.

¹⁷ So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

¹⁷ Assim, os levitas indicaram Hemã, o filho de Joel; e os seus irmãos, Asafe, o filho de Berequias; e dos filhos de Merari, os seus irmãos; Etã, o filho de Cusaías;

¹⁸ and with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Eliphalehu, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the doorkeepers.

¹⁸ e com eles, os seus irmãos de segundo grau: Zacarias, Bene, e Jaaziel, e Semiramote, e Jeiel, e Uni, Eliabe, e Benaia, e Maaseias, e Matitias, e Elifeleu, e Micneias, e Obede-Edom, e Jeiel; os porteiros.

¹⁹ So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan ,were appointed , with cymbals of brass to sound aloud;

¹⁹ Assim, os cantores: Hemã, Asafe, e Etã, foram indicados para soarem com címbalos de bronze;

²⁰ and Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries set to Alamoth;

²⁰ e Zacarias, e Aziel, e Semiramote, e Jeiel, e Uni, e Eliabe, e Maaseias, e Benaia, com saltérios sobre Alamote;

²¹ and Mattithiah, and Eliphalehu, and Mikneiahu, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith, to lead.

²¹ e Matitias, e Elifeleu, e Micneias, e Obede-Edom, e Jeiel, e Azazias, com harpas, sobre seminite para distinção.

²² And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was over the song; he was master in the song, because he was skilful.

²² E Quenanias, chefe dos levitas, foi para a música; ele instruía música, porque era habilidoso.

²³ And Berechiah and Elkanah were door-keepers for the ark.

²³ E Berequias e Elcana foram os porteiros da arca.

²⁴ And Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethanel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God; and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.

²⁴ E Sebanias, e Josafá, e Netanel, e Amasai, e Zacarias, e Benaia, e Eliézer, os sacerdotes, sopravam as trombetas diante da arca de Deus; e Obede-Edom e Jeías foram porteiros da arca.

²⁵ So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.

²⁵ Assim, Davi, e os anciãos de Israel, e os capitães sobre milhares, foram fazer subir a arca do pacto do SENHOR da casa de Obede-Edom, com alegria.

²⁶ And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they sacrificed seven bullocks and seven rams.

²⁶ E sucedeu, quando Deus ajudou os levitas que carregavam a arca do pacto do SENHOR, que eles ofereceram sete novilhos e sete carneiros.

²⁷ And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bore the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the singers in the song; and David had upon him an ephod of linen.

²⁷ E Davi estava vestido com uma veste de linho fino, e todos os levitas que carregavam a arca, e os cantores e Quenanias, o mestre do cântico; Davi também tinha sobre si um éfode de linho.

²⁸ Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the horn, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with psalteries and harps.

²⁸ Assim, todo o Israel fez subir a arca do pacto do SENHOR com brados, e com som de corneta, e com trombetas, e com címbalos, fazendo ruído com saltérios e harpas.

²⁹ And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and making merry; and she despised him in her heart.

²⁹ E sucedeu, enquanto a arca do pacto do SENHOR chegava à cidade de Davi, que Mical, a filha de Saul, ao olhar por uma janela, viu o rei Davi dançando e se divertindo; e ela o desprezou no seu coração.
