1 Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying: 'Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
1 Todo o Israel reuniu-se com Davi em Hebrom e disse: "Somos sangue do teu sangue.
2 In times past, even when Saul was king, it was thou that didst lead out and bring in Israel; and the LORD thy God said unto thee: Thou shalt feed My people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over My people Israel.'
2 No passado, mesmo quando Saul era rei, eras tu quem liderava Israel em suas batalhas. E o Senhor, o teu Deus, te disse: ‘Você pastoreará o meu povo Israel, e será o seu governante’ ".
3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Samuel.
3 Então todas as autoridades de Israel foram ao encontro do rei Davi em Hebrom, e ele fez um acordo com eles em Hebrom perante o Senhor, e eles ungiram Davi rei de Israel, conforme o Senhor havia anunciado por meio de Samuel.
4 And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem--the same is Jebus--and the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were there.
4 Davi e todos os israelitas marcharam para Jerusalém, que é Jebus. Os jebuseus, habitantes da cidade,
5 And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David: 'Thou shalt not come in hither.' Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David.
5 disseram a Davi: "Você não entrará aqui". No entanto, Davi conquistou a fortaleza de Sião, a cidade de Davi.
6 And David said: 'Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain.' And Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, and was made chief.
6 Naquele dia Davi tinha dito: "O primeiro que atacar os jebuseus se tornará o comandante do exército". Joabe, filho de Zeruia, foi o primeiro, e por isso recebeu o comando do exército.
7 And David dwelt in the stronghold; therefore they called it the city of David.
7 Davi passou a morar na fortaleza, e por isso ela foi chamada cidade de Davi.
8 And he built the city round about, from Millo even round about; and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
8 Ele reconstruiu a cidade ao redor da fortaleza, desde os muros de arrimo até os muros ao redor, e Joabe restaurou o restante da cidade.
9 And David waxed greater and greater; for the LORD of hosts was with him.
9 E Davi foi se tornando cada vez mais poderoso, pois o Senhor dos Exércitos estava com ele.
10 Now these are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who held strongly with him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel.
10 Estes foram os chefes dos principais guerreiros de Davi, que junto com todo Israel, deram um grande apoio para estender o seu reinado a todo o país, conforme o Senhor havia prometido.
11 And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashobeam, the son of a Hachmonite, the chief of the captains; he lifted up his spear against three hundred and slew them at one time.
11 Esta é a lista deles: Jasobeão, um hacmonita, era o chefe dos oficiais; foi ele que, empunhando sua lança, matou trezentos homens numa mesma batalha.
12 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.
12 Depois, Eleazar, filho de Dodô, de Aoí, um dos três principais guerreiros.
13 He was with David at Pas-dammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a plot of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.
13 Ele estava com Davi na plantação de cevada de Pas-Damim, onde os filisteus se reuniram para a guerra. As tropas israelitas fugiram dos filisteus,
14 But they stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great victory.
14 mas eles mantiveram sua posição no meio da plantação. Eles o defenderam e feriram os filisteus, e o Senhor lhes deu uma grande vitória.
15 And three of the thirty chiefs went down to the rock to David, unto the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
15 Quando um grupo de filisteus estava acampado no vale de Refaim, três chefes do pelotão dos trinta foram encontrar Davi na rocha que há perto da caverna de Adulão.
16 And David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth-lehem.
16 Estando Davi nessa fortaleza, e o destacamento filisteu em Belém,
17 And David longed, and said: 'Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Beth-lehem, which is by the gate!'
17 Davi expressou seu desejo: "Quem me dera me trouxessem água da cisterna que fica junto à porta de Belém! "
18 And the three broke through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David; but David would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD,
18 Então aqueles três infiltraram-se no acampamento filisteu, tiraram água daquela cisterna e a trouxeram a Davi. Mas ele se recusou a beber; em vez disso, derramou-a como uma oferta ao Senhor.
19 and said: 'My God forbid it me, that I should do this; shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it.' Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
19 "Longe de mim fazer isso, ó meu Deus! ", disse Davi. "Esta água representa o sangue desses homens que arriscaram a própria vida! " Eles arriscaram a vida para trazê-la. E não quis bebê-la. Foram essas as proezas dos três principais guerreiros.
20 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three; for he lifted up his spear against three hundred and slew them, and had a name among the three.
20 Abisai, o irmão de Joabe, era o chefe do batalhão dos trinta. Com uma lança enfrentou trezentos homens e os matou, tornando-se tão famoso quanto os três.
21 Of the three in the second rank he was the most honourable, and was made their captain; howbeit he attained not to the first three.
21 Foi honrado duas vezes mais do que o batalhão dos trinta, e se tornou chefe deles, mas nunca igualou-se aos três principais guerreiros.
22 Beniah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he smote the two altar-hearths of Moab; he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.
22 Benaia, filho de Joiada, era um corajoso soldado de Cabzeel, e realizou grandes feitos. Matou dois dos melhores guerreiros de Moabe e, num dia de neve, desceu em uma cova e matou um leão.
23 And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
23 Também matou um egípcio de dois metros e vinte e cinco centímetros de altura. Embora o egípcio tivesse na mão uma lança parecida com uma lançadeira de tecelão, Benaia o enfrentou com um cajado. Arrancou a lança da mão do egípcio e com ela o matou.
24 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had a name among the three mighty men.
24 Esses foram os grandes feitos de Benaia, filho de Joiada, que também foi tão famoso quanto os três principais guerreiros de Davi.
25 Behold, he was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three; and David set him over his guard.
25 Foi mais honrado do que qualquer dos trinta, mas nunca igualou-se aos três. E Davi lhe deu o comando da sua guarda pessoal.
26 Also the mighty men of valour: Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lehem;
26 Os outros guerreiros foram: Asael, irmão de Joabe; Elanã, filho de Dodô, de Belém;
27 Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite;
27 Samote, de Haror; Helez, de Pelom;
28 Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Anathothite;
28 Ira, filho de Iques, de Tecoa; Abiezer, de Anatote;
29 Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite;
