1 Ọo ya bụ; unu tụa onwunu ẹkpu tụshia iphe, bụkpoo ẹjo-iphe, unu eme. Unu haa adzụ ụka; ọphu ọ dụhe onye a-bụru tụko-l'ẹhu-atụko-l'obu; unu ahaa ẹnya-pfụrupfuru; haa epfubyishi nemadzụ ibe unu.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 G'ọ bụru g'ẹgu ẹra l'anọduje agụ nwamee nshị-a bụ g'opfu Chileke anọduje agụ unu; mbụ opfu Chileke ono, e te emerwụshiduru emerwụshi ono; ọo ya bụ g'unu e-gude iya vua evuvu; vuta k'ọphu Chileke a-dzọ unu.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,

3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.

5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Kẹle e deru l'ẹkwo-opfu Chileke sụ:
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Ọ kwa l'ẹhu k'unubẹdua, kwetarụ kẹ Kéreshi bẹ mkpuma ono bụ iphe, akwabẹ ùbvù; a bya l'ẹhu kẹ ndu te ekwedu kẹ Kéreshi bẹ;
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Tẹme e dekwaaphọ sụ:
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Obenu l'unubẹdua bụ ndu Chileke gude ẹka iya họta. Unu bụ ọgbo uke kẹ Chileke; bya abụru ọha dụ nsọ; bụru ndu Chileke nwe enwenwe; k'ọphu unu e-me g'ajajẹ iya ajaja; mbụ onye ono kufutaru unu l'ọchii kuru unu ye l'ìphóró iya, dụ biribiri ono.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Ọ dụkwaru teke unu eshidu bụru ndu kẹ Chileke; nta-a bẹ unu bụwaa ndu nkiya. Ete shidu phụaru unu obu-imemini; obenu lẹ nta-a bẹ ọ phụwaru unu obu-imemini.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Ndu mu yeru obu; unu bụkwa nlwamụlwa lẹ mgboko-a; tẹme unu byakwa iya phọ g'onye kpafụtaru ụri. Ọo iphe ono meru g'o gude mu nọdu epfuru iya unu; epfushiru iya unu ike sụ unu jiko g'unu te ewokwaru onwunu tọgboru ẹgu ẹjo-iphe, dụ iche iche, anọduje agụ nemadzụ ẹgu ememe. Ọ kwa ndzụ ọ̀phúú ono, Chileke nụru unu ono bẹ ẹgu eme ẹjo-iphe ono anọduje etso ọgu.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 G'umere unu shije ekiri l'iphu ndu ete ekwedu kẹ Chileke; k'ọphu bụ ẹphe -bokpọonu unu ibo l'unu bụ ndu eme ẹjo-iphe; ẹphe eleanaa umere unu l'ọ dụnukaru ree; ẹphe egudekwanụ iya jaa Chileke ajaja mbọku ono, ọo-bya ekpee phẹ ikpe ono.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Unu wozejekwa onwunu alị l'iphu ndu ọha meru ndu-ishi; m'ọbvu Nnajịuphu; l'iphu ndu-eze, bụ phẹ bẹ ike dụ l'ẹka;

14 mẹ l'iphu ndu bụ ọ-chị-ọha, bụ ndu e yeru g'ẹphe hụ̀je ndu eme ẹjo-iphe ahụ̀hù; ẹphe ajajẹ ndu ọphu eme iphe, dụ ree ajaja.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Noo kẹle iphe, dụ Chileke l'uche bụ g'unu gude umere ọma mechishia ẹhu-eswe ẹhu-eswe ndu amadụ iphe anọduje epfuru unu ono.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Kéreshi bẹ tọakwaru unu l'ẹgbu. Ọle ọ tọ bụkwa g'unu bya eworu onwunu saarụ eme iphe-ẹji ọgbo. Unu mejechia umere, gbaru ndu ejeru Chileke ozi.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Unu kwabẹje onyemonye ùbvù. Iphe, bụkpoo ndu bụ ụnwunna; mbụ ndu nọ Kéreshi l'ẹka; bẹ unu eyekọtaje obu. Unu tsụjekwa Chileke ebvu. Unu akwabẹjekwapho eze ùbvù.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Unubẹ ndu ejeru nemadzụ ozi; unu wozejekwa onwunu alị l'iphu nnajịuphu unu; kwabẹje iya ùbvù. Iphe, bụkpoo iphe, ẹphe sụru g'unu mee; unu mejekwa iya. G'ọ tọ bụekwapho onye ọphu nnajịuphu iya dụru odoo bya emeru ọnu ụtso bẹ a-kwabẹje iya ùbvù kpoloko. G'onye ọphu nnajịuphu iya dụru ẹhuka kwabẹjekwa iya phọ ùbvù.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Chileke bẹ ẹhu atsọjekwa ụtso mẹ ọ -bụru l'unubẹ ndibe iya gude iya ata nshi eje iphe-ẹhuka, byaru unu; mbụ iphe-ẹhuka, e meru unu; unu nọdu eje l'ẹbe abụ l'ọ dụru iphe, unu meru, dụ ẹji.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Ọle ọ tọ bụkwa: a -nọdu ahụ̀ ngu ahụ̀hù iphe, dụ ẹji, i meru ị nọdu ata nshi; ono ta agbakwarụ g'a jaa ngu ajaja iya. Ọ kwa onye meru iphe, dụ ree; a nọdu echi iya iphe ẹheni; onye ono nọdu ata nshi; noo onye Chileke a-ja ajaja iya bụ ono.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Noo l'ọ kwa eje iphe-ẹhuka ẹgube dụ Chileke ree ono bẹ Chileke kudoru unu oku iya. Lẹ Kéreshi l'onwiya gudekwa k'iswi ẹhu unu jekwaaphọ iphe-ẹhuka. Ono bụwaruro iphe-leta-mee bẹ o meru doberu unu; k'ọphu unu a-nọdu anwụ ẹka iya.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 “Onye adụdu iphe-ẹji, o mejeru; ọphu ntuphu-ire adụjeduru iya l'ọnu.”
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 A kwagọkpokwaaru iya ìphù; ọle o to phulatadụru. E mee ya mkpawere; ọphu ọ dụdu onye ọ sụjeru lẹ ya e-melata. Iphe, o mechiaru bụ l'o woru onwiya ye Chileke l'ẹka; mbụ Chileke ono, bụ onye-ikpe, ekpeje ikpe, pfụru nhamụnha ono.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;

24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Noo l'unu shi eje phururugbadaa g'atụru, ephu ụzo; obenu lẹ nta-a bẹ unu lwaphutawaru azụ; lwapfuta onye ono, eche unu g'onye eche atụru; bya abụkwarupho onye eleta ndzụ unu ẹnya ono.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
