2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;

3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;

4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.

5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;

7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.

Onà wyaro haxa katxoko, àhokonye. Apa y, nyamoro ewakryetxoko, katxoko, Khoryenkomo wya. Tàmryenon me awahanonkatxownà, Khoryenkomo, tànewakryenàr me oyehtxoho menye. Àro ke, axanhàn komo ewakryetxoko, omnyam xarha.
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 Àsok tawro hana, onà wyaro tawro ke, àmenhosahonhàrà wya.
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 Anhà hokohra ro mak ehtxoko. Ohxe roro ehtxoko. Toto kom hoko, towahke roro oyesnàr komo xe rma haxa ehtxoko.
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 Àsok tawro hana. Enyhoru komo yonye ro me naha, Kohkomo, ewakryenàr kom horà. Àrwonàmrà komo yonytxanye ro me naha. Anhà kom hok haxa, ewakhàra ro mak naha, Kohkomo.
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 Ohxe oyehtxoho kom hoko roro rma haxa ehtxoko. Àro wyaro ohxe roro oyehtokonye, oyeryewhamnohpàranye natxow hamà, toto komo.
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Anatoko oyeryewhamnohyatxow hana, anar komo. Ohxe roro oyehtxoho kom hoye ro ryhe, oyeryewhamnohyatxow hana. Oseryehokahra rma ehtxoko. Oseryehpàra rma ehtxoko, nyamoro hona. Towakryexem me rma manatxhe.
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!

15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.

16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.

17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Ohxe tehtxoho hoye ro rma rha teryewhamnohsom me nehxakonà, Kryestu xarha. Kanhànàthàyam hoye ro wayehye. Towenyxa ro wayehye, tàwya kanhànàthàyamo yowtàhkatxho me. Anhàtho komo rma kàwyamo. Ekato haxa ryhe, karyhe roro texem me nehxakonà.
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.

21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.

22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
