1 A Psalme committed to Asaph. O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance: thine holy Temple haue they defiled, and made Ierusalem heapes of stones.
1 Ó Deus, as nações invadiram a tua herança; contaminaram o teu santo templo; reduziram Jerusalém a ruínas.
2 The dead bodies of thy seruats haue they giuen to be meat vnto foules of ye heauen: and the flesh of thy Saintes vnto the beastes of the earth.
2 Deram os cadáveres dos teus servos como pastos às aves dos céus, e a carne dos teus santos aos animais da terra.
3 Their blood haue they shead like waters rounde about Ierusalem, and there was none to burie them.
3 Derramaram o sangue deles como água ao redor de Jerusalém, e não houve quem os sepultasse.
4 Wee are a reproche to our neighbours, euen a scorne and derision vnto them that are round about vs.
4 Somos feitos o opróbrio dos nossos vizinhos, o escárnio e a zombaria dos que estão em redor de nós.
5 Lord, howe long wilt thou be angrie, for euer? shall thy gelousie burne like fire?
5 Até quando, Senhor? Indignar-te-ás para sempre? Arderá o teu zelo como fogo?
6 Powre out thy wrath vpon the heathen that haue not knowen thee, and vpon the kingdomes that haue not called vpon thy Name.
6 Derrama o teu furor sobre as nações que não te conhecem, e sobre os reinos que não invocam o teu nome;
7 For they haue deuoured Iaakob and made his dwelling place desolate.
7 porque eles devoraram a Jacó, e assolaram a sua morada.
8 Remember not against vs the former iniquities, but make haste and let thy tender mercies preuent vs: for we are in great miserie.
8 Não te lembres contra nós das iniqüidades de nossos pais; venha depressa ao nosso encontro a tua compaixão, pois estamos muito abatidos.
9 Helpe vs, O God of our saluation, for the glorie of thy Name, and deliuer vs, and be mercifull vnto our sinnes for thy Names sake.
9 Ajuda-nos, ó Deus da nossa salvação, pela glória do teu nome; livra-nos, e perdoa os nossos pecados, por amor do teu nome.
10 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be knowen among the heathen in our sight by the vengeance of the blood of thy seruants that is shed.
10 Por que diriam as nações: Onde está o seu Deus? Torne-se manifesta entre as nações, à nossa vista, a vingança do sangue derramado dos teus servos.
11 Let the sighing of the prisoners come before thee: according to thy mightie arme preserue the children of death,
11 Chegue à tua presença o gemido dos presos; segundo a grandeza do teu braço, preserva aqueles que estão condenados à morte.
12 And render to our neighbours seuen folde into their bosome their reproche, wherewith they haue reproched thee, O Lord.
12 E aos nossos vizinhos, deita-lhes no regaço, setuplicadamente, a injúria com que te injuriaram, Senhor.
13 So wee thy people, and sheepe of thy pasture shall praise thee for euer: and from generation to generation we will set foorth thy praise.
13 Assim nós, teu povo ovelhas de teu pasto, te louvaremos eternamente; de geração em geração publicaremos os teus louvores.
