1 To him that excelleth upon Shushan Eduth, or Michtam. A Psalme of David to teach. When he fought against Aram Naharaim, and against Aram Zobah, when Joab returned and slew twelve thousand Edomites in the salt valley. O God, thou hast cast vs out, thou hast scattered vs, thou hast bene angry, turne againe vnto vs.
1 Ó Deus, tu nos rejeitaste e nos derrotaste. Estavas mas agora volta para nós!
2 Thou hast made the land to tremble, and hast made it to gape: heale the breaches thereof, for it is shaken.
2 Fizeste a terra tremer e se abrir; agora fecha as suas brechas, pois ela está se desfazendo.
3 Thou hast shewed thy people heauy things: thou hast made vs to drinke the wine of giddines.
3 Fizeste o teu povo passar por muitas aflições; tu nos deste vinho para beber, e por isso andamos por aí às tontas.
4 But now thou hast giuen a banner to them that feare thee, that it may be displayed because of thy trueth. Selah.
4 Levantaste uma bandeira para avisar os que te para que eles pudessem escapar da derrota.
5 That thy beloued may be deliuered, helpe with thy right hand and heare me.
5 Salva-nos com o teu poder; responde à nossa oração para que o povo que tu amas seja salvo.
6 God hath spoken in his holines: therefore I will reioyce: I shall deuide Shechem, and measure the valley of Succoth.
6 No seu Templo, Deus disse: “Quando eu vencer, dividirei a cidade de Siquém e repartirei o vale de Sucote entre o meu povo.
7 Gilead shalbe mine, and Manasseh shalbe mine: Ephraim also shalbe the strength of mine head: Iudah is my lawgiuer.
7 Gileade é meu, e Manassés, também; Efraim é o meu capacete, e Judá é o meu
8 Moab shalbe my wash pot: ouer Edom will I cast out my shoe: Palestina shew thy selfe ioyfull for me.
8 Porém Moabe será a minha bacia de lavar; e eu jogarei as minhas sandálias sobre Edom, como um sinal de que esse país é meu. Será que os filisteus pensaram que iriam cantar a sua vitória sobre mim?”
9 Who will leade me into the strong citie? who will bring me vnto Edom?
9 Ó Deus, quem me levará para dentro da cidade protegida por muralhas? Quem me guiará até Edom?
10 Wilt not thou, O God, which hadest cast vs off, and didest not go forth, O God, with our armies?
10 Será que, de fato, nos rejeitaste? Será que não vais marchar com os nossos exércitos?
11 Giue vs helpe against trouble: for vaine is the helpe of man.
11 Ajuda-nos a combater o inimigo, pois o auxílio de seres humanos não vale nada.
12 Through God we shall doe valiantly: for he shall tread downe our enemies.
12 Com Deus do nosso lado, venceremos; ele derrotará os nossos inimigos.
