1 To him that excelleth on Shoshannim a song of love to give instruction, committed to the sonnes of Korah. Mine heart will vtter forth a good matter: I wil intreat in my workes of the King: my tongue is as the pen of a swift writer.
1 Lindas palavras enchem o meu coração enquanto escrevo esta canção em homenagem ao rei. A minha língua é como a pena de um bom escritor.
2 Thou art fayrer then the children of men: grace is powred in thy lips, because God hath blessed thee for euer.
2 Ó rei, o senhor é o mais bonito de todos os homens e sabe fazer belos discursos. Deus sempre o tem abençoado.
3 Gird thy sword vpon thy thigh, O most mightie, to wit, thy worship and thy glory,
3 Ponha a espada na cintura, ó rei poderoso, forte e
4 And prosper with thy glory: ride vpon the worde of trueth and of meekenes and of righteousnes: so thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
4 Coberto de glória , avance para vencer, defendendo a verdade e a justiça. A sua força conquistará grandes vitórias.
5 Thine arrowes are sharpe to pearce the heart of the Kings enemies: therefore the people shall fall vnder thee.
5 As suas flechas são afiadas e atravessam o coração dos seus inimigos; as nações caem aos seus pés.
6 Thy throne, O God, is for euer and euer: the scepter of thy kingdome is a scepter of righteousnesse.
6 O reino que Deus lhe deu vai durar para sempre. Ó rei, o senhor governa o seu povo com justiça,
7 Thou louest righteousnes, and hatest wickednesse, because God, euen thy God hath anoynted thee with the oyle of gladnes aboue thy fellowes.
7 ama o bem e odeia o mal. Foi por isso que Deus, o seu Deus, o escolheu e deu mais felicidade ao senhor do que a qualquer outro rei.
8 All thy garments smelll of myrrhe and aloes, and cassia, when thou commest out of the yuorie palaces, where they haue made thee glad.
8 A sua roupa está perfumada com Os músicos tocam para o senhor, ó rei, em palácios enfeitados com marfim.
9 Kings daugthers were among thine honorable wiues: vpon thy right hand did stand the Queene in a vesture of golde of Ophir.
9 Entre as damas da sua corte, há filhas de reis, e, à direita do seu trono, está a rainha, usando enfeites de ouro puríssimo.
10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine eare: forget also thine owne people and thy fathers house.
10 Ó noiva do rei, escute o meu conselho: “Esqueça o seu povo e os seus parentes.
11 So shall the King haue pleasure in thy beautie: for he is thy Lord, and reuerence thou him.
11 Você é linda, e por isso o rei vai desejá-la; seja obediente a ele, pois ele é o seu senhor.
12 And the daughter of Tyrus with the rich of the people shall doe homage before thy face with presents.
12 Ó noiva, o povo da cidade de Tiro vai lhe trazer presentes; muita gente rica vai querer lhe agradar.”
13 The Kings daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of broydred golde.
13 A princesa está no palácio — e como é linda! O seu vestido é feito de fios de ouro.
14 She shalbe brought vnto the King in raiment of needle worke: the virgins that follow after her, and her companions shall be brought vnto thee.
14 Vestida de roupas coloridas e acompanhada pelas suas damas de honra, ela é levada até o rei.
15 With ioy and gladnes shall they be brought, and shall enter into the Kings palace.
15 Com prazer e alegria, elas chegam e entram no palácio dele.
16 In steade of thy fathers shall thy children be: thou shalt make them princes through all the earth.
16 Ó rei, o senhor terá muitos filhos, e eles serão reis também como foram os antepassados do senhor; e o senhor, ó rei, os fará governar o mundo inteiro.
17 I will make thy Name to be remembred through all generations: therefore shall the people giue thanks vnto thee world without ende.
17 A minha canção fará com que a sua fama seja sempre lembrada, e todos o elogiarão para sempre.
