¹ To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. Blessed is he that iudgeth wisely of the poore: the Lord shall deliuer him in ye time of trouble.

¹ Bem-aventurado é aquele que atende ao pobre; o Senhor o livrará no dia do mal.

² The Lord will keepe him, and preserue him aliue: he shalbe blessed vpon the earth, and thou wilt not deliuer him vnto the will of his enemies.

² O Senhor o livrará e o conservará em vida; será abençoado na terra, e tu não o entregarás à vontade de seus inimigos.

³ The Lord wil strengthen him vpon ye bed of sorow: thou hast turned al his bed in his sicknes.

³ O Senhor o sustentará no leito da enfermidade; tu renovas a sua cama na doença.

⁴ Therefore I saide, Lord haue mercie vpon me: heale my soule, for I haue sinned against thee.

⁴ Eu dizia: Senhor , tem piedade de mim; sara a minha alma, porque pequei contra ti.

⁵ Mine enemies speake euill of me, saying, When shall he die, and his name perish?

⁵ Os meus inimigos falam mal de mim, dizendo: Quando morrerá ele, e perecerá o seu nome?

⁶ And if hee come to see mee, hee speaketh lies, but his heart heapeth iniquitie within him, and when he commeth foorth, he telleth it.

⁶ E, se algum deles vem ver-me, diz coisas vãs; no seu coração amontoa a maldade; em saindo para fora, é disso que fala.

⁷ All they that hate me, whisper together against me: euen against me do they imagine mine hurt.

⁷ Todos os que me aborrecem murmuram à uma contra mim; contra mim imaginam o mal, dizendo:

⁸ A mischiefe is light vpon him, and he that lyeth, shall no more rise.

⁸ Uma doença má se lhe pegou; e, pois que está deitado, não se levantará mais.

⁹ Yea, my familiar friend, whom I trusted, which did eate of my bread, hath lifted vp the heele against me.

⁹ Até o meu próprio amigo íntimo, em quem eu tanto confiava, que comia do meu pão, levantou contra mim o seu calcanhar.

¹⁰ Therefore, O Lord, haue mercy vpon mee, and raise me vp: so I shall reward them.

¹⁰ Mas tu, Senhor , tem piedade de mim, e levanta-me, para que eu lhes dê o pago.

¹¹ By this I know that thou fauourest me, because mine enemie doth not triumph against me.

¹¹ Por isto conheço eu que tu me favoreces: que o meu inimigo não triunfa de mim.

¹² And as for me, thou vpholdest me in mine integritie, and doest set me before thy face for euer.

¹² Quanto a mim, tu me sustentas na minha sinceridade e me puseste diante da tua face para sempre.

¹³ Blessed be the Lord God of Israel worlde without ende. So be it, euen so be it.

¹³ Bendito seja o Senhor , Deus de Israel, de século em século! Amém e amém!
