¹ Praise ye the Lord. Praise thou the Lord, O my soule.

¹ Louvai ao Senhor. Ó minha alma, louva ao Senhor.

² I will prayse the Lord during my life: as long as I haue any being, I wil sing vnto my God.

² Louvarei ao Senhor durante a minha vida; cantarei louvores ao meu Deus enquanto eu for vivo.

³ Put not your trust in princes, nor in the sonne of man, for there is none helpe in him.

³ Não confieis em príncipes, nem em filho de homem, em quem não há salvação.

⁴ His breath departeth, and he returneth to his earth: then his thoughtes perish.

⁴ Sai-lhe o espírito, volta para a terra; naquele mesmo dia perecem os seus pensamentos.

⁵ Blessed is he, that hath the God of Iaakob for his helpe, whose hope is in the Lord his God.

⁵ Bem-aventurado aquele que tem o Deus de Jacó por seu auxílio, e cuja esperança está posta no Senhor seu Deus.

⁶ Which made heauen and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth his fidelitie for euer:

⁶ O que fez os céus e a terra, o mar e tudo quanto há neles, e o que guarda a verdade para sempre;

⁷ Which executeth iustice for the oppressed: which giueth bread to the hungry: the Lord loseth the prisoners.

⁷ O que faz justiça aos oprimidos, o que dá pão aos famintos. O Senhor solta os encarcerados.

⁸ The Lord giueth sight to the blinde: the Lord rayseth vp the crooked: the Lord loueth the righteous.

⁸ O Senhor abre os olhos aos cegos; o Senhor levanta os abatidos; o Senhor ama os justos;

⁹ The Lord keepeth the strangers: he relieueth the fatherlesse and widowe: but he ouerthroweth the way of the wicked.

⁹ O Senhor guarda os estrangeiros; sustém o órfão e a viúva, mas transtorna o caminho dos ímpios.

¹⁰ The Lord shall reigne for euer: O Zion, thy God endureth from generation to generation. Prayse ye the Lord.

¹⁰ O Senhor reinará eternamente; o teu Deus, ó Sião, de geração em geração. Louvai ao Senhor.
