1 Paul a seruant of Iesus Christ called to be an Apostle, put apart to preache the Gospel of God,
1 Paulo, servo de Cristo Jesus, chamado para ser apóstolo, separado para o evangelho de Deus,
2 (Which he had promised afore by his Prophetes in the holy Scriptures)
2 que ele, no passado, prometeu por meio dos seus profetas nas Escrituras Sagradas.
3 Concerning his Sonne Iesus Christ our Lord (which was made of the seede of Dauid according to the flesh,
3 Este evangelho diz respeito a seu Filho, o qual, segundo a carne, veio da descendência de Davi
4 And declared mightily to be the Sonne of God, touching the Spirit of sanctification by the resurrection from the dead)
4 e foi designado Filho de Deus com poder, segundo o Espírito de santidade, pela ressurreição dos mortos, a saber, Jesus Cristo, nosso Senhor.
5 By whom we haue receiued grace and Apostleship (that obedience might be giuen vnto ye faith) for his Name among al ye Gentiles,
5 Por meio dele viemos a receber graça e apostolado por amor do seu nome, para a obediência da fé, entre todos os gentios.
6 Among whom ye be also the called of Iesus Christ:
6 Entre esses se encontram também vocês que foram chamados para pertencerem a Jesus Cristo.
7 To all you that be at Rome beloued of God, called to be Saints: Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.
7 A todos os amados de Deus que estão em Roma, chamados para ser santos. Que a graça e a paz de Deus, nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo estejam com vocês.
8 First I thanke my God through Iesus Christ for you all, because your faith is published throughout the whole world.
8 Em primeiro lugar, por meio de Jesus Cristo, dou graças ao meu Deus por todos vocês, porque a fé que vocês têm é proclamada no mundo inteiro.
9 For God is my witnesse (whom I serue in my spirit in the Gospel of his Sonne) that without ceasing I make mention of you
9 Pois Deus, a quem sirvo em meu espírito, no evangelho de seu Filho, é minha testemunha de como nunca deixo de fazer menção de vocês
10 Alwayes in my prayers, beseeching that by some meanes, one time or other I might haue a prosperous iourney by the will of God, to come vnto you.
10 em todas as minhas orações, pedindo que, em algum momento, pela vontade de Deus, surja uma oportunidade de visitá-los.
11 For I long to see you, that I might bestowe among you some spirituall gift, that you might be strengthened:
11 Porque desejo muito vê-los, a fim de repartir com vocês algum dom espiritual, para que vocês sejam fortalecidos,
12 That is, that I might be comforted together with you, through our mutuall faith, both yours and mine.
12 isto é, para que nos consolemos uns aos outros por meio da fé mútua: a de vocês e a minha.
13 Now my brethren, I would that ye should not be ignorant, how that I haue oftentimes purposed to come vnto you (but haue bene let hitherto) that I might haue some fruite also among you, as I haue among the other Gentiles.
13 Quero que vocês saibam, irmãos, que muitas vezes me propus a ir visitá-los — no que tenho sido, até agora, impedido —, para conseguir algum fruto igualmente entre vocês, assim como também tenho conseguido entre os outros gentios.
14 I am detter both to the Grecians, and to the Barbarians, both to the wise men and vnto the vnwise.
14 Pois sou devedor tanto a gregos como a bárbaros, tanto a sábios como a insensatos.
15 Therefore, as much as in me is, I am readie to preach ye Gospel to you also that are at Rome.
15 Por isso, quanto a mim, estou pronto a anunciar o evangelho também a vocês que estão em Roma.
16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God vnto saluation to euery one that beleeueth, to the Iewe first, and also to the Grecian.
16 Pois não me envergonho do evangelho, porque é o poder de Deus para a salvação de todo aquele que crê, primeiro do judeu e também do grego.
17 For by it the righteousnesse of God is reueiled from faith to faith: as it is written, The iust shall liue by faith.
17 Porque a justiça de Deus se revela no evangelho, de fé em fé, como está escrito: “O justo viverá por fé.”
18 For the wrath of God is reueiled from heauen against all vngodlinesse, and vnrighteousnesse of men, which withhold the trueth in vnrighteousnesse.
18 A ira de Deus se revela do céu contra toda impiedade e injustiça dos seres humanos que, por meio da sua injustiça, suprimem a verdade.
19 Forasmuch as that, which may be knowe of God, is manifest in them: for God hath shewed it vnto them.
19 Pois o que se pode conhecer a respeito de Deus é manifesto entre eles, porque Deus lhes manifestou.
20 For the inuisible things of him, that is, his eternal power and Godhead, are seene by ye creation of the worlde, being considered in his workes, to the intent that they should be without excuse:
20 Porque os atributos invisíveis de Deus, isto é, o seu eterno poder e a sua divindade, claramente se reconhecem, desde a criação do mundo, sendo percebidos por meio das coisas que Deus fez. Por isso, os seres humanos são indesculpáveis.
21 Because that when they knewe God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankefull, but became vaine in their thoughtes, and their foolish heart was full of darkenesse.
21 Porque, tendo conhecimento de Deus, não o glorificaram como Deus, nem lhe deram graças. Pelo contrário, se tornaram nulos em seus próprios raciocínios, e o coração insensato deles se obscureceu.
22 When they professed themselues to be wise, they became fooles.
22 Dizendo que eram sábios, se tornaram tolos
23 For they turned the glorie of the incorruptible God to the similitude of the image of a corruptible man, and of birdes, and foure footed beastes, and of creeping things.
23 e trocaram a glória do Deus incorruptível por imagens semelhantes ao ser humano corruptível, às aves, aos quadrúpedes e aos répteis.
24 Wherefore also God gaue them vp to their hearts lusts, vnto vncleannesse, to defile their owne bodies betweene themselues:
24 Por isso, Deus os entregou à impureza, pelos desejos do coração deles, para desonrarem o seu corpo entre si.
25 Which turned the trueth of God vnto a lie, and worshipped and serued the creature, forsaking the Creator, which is blessed for euer, Amen.
25 Eles trocaram a verdade de Deus pela mentira, adorando e servindo a criatura em lugar do Criador, o qual é bendito para sempre. Amém!
26 For this cause God gaue them vp vnto vile affections: for euen their women did change the naturall vse into that which is against nature.
26 Por causa disso, Deus os entregou a paixões vergonhosas. Porque até as mulheres trocaram o modo natural das relações íntimas por outro, contrário à natureza.
27 And likewise also the men left the naturall vse of the woman, and burned in their lust one toward another, and man with man wrought filthinesse, and receiued in themselues such recompence of their errour, as was meete.
27 Da mesma forma, também os homens, deixando o contato natural da mulher, se inflamaram mutuamente em sua sensualidade, cometendo indecência, homens com homens, e recebendo, em si mesmos, a merecida punição do seu erro.
28 For as they regarded not to acknowledge God, euen so God deliuered them vp vnto a reprobate minde, to doe those things which are not conuenient,
28 E, por haverem desprezado o conhecimento de Deus, o próprio Deus os entregou a um modo de pensar reprovável, para praticarem coisas que não convêm.
29 Being full of all vnrighteousnesse, fornication, wickednes, couetousnes, maliciousnes, full of enuie, of murder, of debate, of deceit, taking all things in the euill part, whisperers,
29 Estão cheios de todo tipo de injustiça, perversidade, avareza e maldade. Estão cheios de inveja, homicídio, discórdia, engano e malícia. São difamadores,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, doers of wrong, proude, boasters, inuenters of euil things, disobedient to parents, without vnderstanding, couenant breakers, without naturall affection, such as can neuer be appeased, mercilesse.
30 caluniadores, inimigos de Deus, insolentes, arrogantes, orgulhosos, inventores de males, desobedientes aos pais,
31 Which men, though they knew ye Lawe of God, how that they which comit such things are worthie of death, yet not onely do the same, but also fauour them that doe them.
31 insensatos, desleais, sem afeição natural e sem misericórdia.
32 — ausente —
32 Embora conheçam a sentença de Deus, de que os que praticam tais coisas são passíveis de morte, eles não somente as fazem, mas também aprovam os que as praticam.
