1 And Balaam sayd vnto Balak, Builde me here seuen altars, and prepare me here seuen bullockes, and seuen rammes.
1 Então Balaão disse a Balaque: — Construa aqui sete altares e prepare para mim sete touros novos e sete carneiros.
2 And Balak did as Balaam sayd, and Balak and Balaam offred on euery altar a bullocke and a ramme.
2 Balaque fez como Balaão tinha dito, e os dois ofereceram em sacrifício um touro novo e um carneiro em cada altar.
3 Then Balaam sayde vnto Balak, Stande by the burnt offring, and I will goe, if so be that the Lord will come and meete me: and whatsoeuer he sheweth me, I will tell thee: so he went forth alone.
3 Aí Balaão disse a Balaque: — Fique aí perto da sua oferta queimada, que eu vou até ali. Talvez o Depois Balaão subiu sozinho até o alto de um monte.
4 And God met Balaam, and Balaam sayd vnto him, I haue prepared seuen altars, and haue offred vpon euery altar a bullocke and a ramme.
4 Ali Deus se encontrou com Balaão, e este lhe disse: — Construí sete altares e sobre cada um ofereci um touro novo e um carneiro.
5 And the Lord put an answere in Balaams mouth, and sayde, Go againe to Balak, and say on this wise.
5 O Senhor Deus disse a Balaão o que ele deveria dizer e o mandou voltar e entregar a mensagem a Balaque.
6 So when he returned vnto him, loe, hee stoode by his burnt offering, he, and all the princes of Moab.
6 Assim, Balaão voltou e encontrou Balaque ainda perto da sua oferta queimada, ele junto com os chefes moabitas.
7 Then he vttered his parable, and sayde, Balak the king of Moab hath brought mee from Aram out of the mountaines of the East, saying, Come, curse Iaakob for my sake: come, and detest Israel.
7 Aí Balaão fez esta profecia : “Balaque, rei de Moabe, me fez vir da Síria; das montanhas do Leste ele me mandou chamar. ‘Venha — ele me disse — e me faça o favor de amaldiçoar o povo de Israel! Sim, amaldiçoe os israelitas!’
8 How shall I curse, where God hath not cursed? or howe shall I detest, where the Lord hath not detested?
8 Como posso amaldiçoar aquele que Deus não amaldiçoou? Como posso condenar aquele que o
9 For from the top of the rocks I did see him, and from the hils I did beholde him: lo, the people shall dwell by themselues, and shall not be reckened among the nations.
9 Do alto das rochas, na montanha, eu vejo o povo de Israel. Eles vivem sozinhos e acham que são diferentes dos outros povos.
10 Who can tell the dust of Iaakob, and the nomber of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last ende be like his.
10 Os descendentes de Jacó são como a poeira; são tantos, que não podem ser contados. Gostaria de terminar a minha vida como alguém que pertence ao povo de Deus; quero morrer em paz como as pessoas honestas.”
11 Then Balak saide vnto Balaam, What hast thou done vnto mee? I tooke thee to curse mine enemies, and beholde, thou hast blessed them altogether.
11 Então Balaque disse a Balaão: — O que foi que você me fez? Eu o mandei chamar para amaldiçoar os meus inimigos, mas você somente os abençoou.
12 And he answered, and said, Must I not take heede to speake that, which the Lord hath put in my mouth?
12 E ele respondeu: — Eu posso dizer apenas aquilo que o
13 And Balak sayde vnto him, Come, I pray thee, with mee vnto another place, whence thou mayest see them, and thou shalt see but the vtmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: therefore curse them out of that place for my sake.
13 Aí Balaque disse a Balaão: — Venha comigo para outro lugar, de onde você poderá ver somente alguns israelitas. Amaldiçoe dali essa gente, por favor.
14 And he brought him into Sede-sophim to the top of Pisgah, and built seuen altars, and offred a bullocke, and a ramme on euery altar.
14 Balaque o levou até o campo de Zofim, no alto do monte Pisga. Ali construiu sete altares e em cima de cada altar ofereceu em sacrifício um touro novo e um carneiro.
15 After, he sayde vnto Balak, Stande here by thy burnt offring, and I wil meete the Lord yonder.
15 Então Balaão disse a Balaque: — Fique aqui perto da sua oferta queimada, e eu irei até ali para me encontrar com Deus, o
16 And the Lord mette Balaam, and put an answere in his mouth, and sayd, Goe againe vnto Balak, and say thus.
16 O Senhor se encontrou com Balaão e disse o que ele deveria dizer e o mandou voltar até o lugar onde Balaque estava, a fim de entregar-lhe a mensagem.
17 And when he came to him, beholde, hee stoode by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him: so Balak sayde vnto him, What hath the Lord sayd?
17 Assim, Balaão voltou e encontrou Balaque ainda perto da sua oferta queimada, ele junto com os chefes moabitas. Balaque perguntou o que o Senhor lhe tinha dito,
18 And he vttered his parable, and sayde, Rise vp, Balak, and heare: hearken vnto me, thou sonne of Zippor.
18 e Balaão fez esta profecia : “Venha, Balaque, filho de Zipor, e escute o que vou dizer.
19 God is not as man, that he should lie, neither as the sonne of man that he shoulde repent: hath he sayde and shall he not do it? and hath he spoken, and shall he not accomplish it?
19 Deus não é como os homens, que mentem; não é um ser humano, que muda de ideia. Quando foi que Deus prometeu e não cumpriu? Ele diz que faz e faz mesmo.
20 Behold, I haue receiued commandement to blesse: for he hath blessed, and I cannot alter it.
20 Recebi ordem para abençoar; ele abençoou, e eu não posso mudar nada.
21 Hee seeth none iniquitie in Iaakob, nor seeth no transgression in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the ioyfull shoute of a king is among them.
21 Vejo que no futuro do povo de Israel não há desgraça nem sofrimentos. O e o povo está gritando que o
22 God brought them out of Egypt: their strength is as an vnicorne.
22 Deus os tirou do Egito; ele tem a força de um touro selvagem.
23 For there is no sorcerie in Iaakob, nor soothsaying in Israel: according to this time it shalbe sayde of Iaakob and of Israel, What hath God wrought?
23 A feitiçaria e a adivinhação não valem nada contra o povo de Israel. Agora todos dirão a respeito desse povo: ‘Vejam só o que Deus tem feito!’
24 Behold, the people shall rise vp as a lyon, and lift vp himselfe as a yong lyon: hee shall not lye downe, till he eate of the pray, and till he drinke the blood of the slayne.
24 Israel se levanta como uma leoa e se firma como um leão. Ele não descansa até que tenha devorado a presa e bebido o sangue das suas vítimas.”
25 Then Balak sayde vnto Balaam, Neither curse, nor blesse them at all.
25 Então Balaque disse a Balaão: — Se você não pode amaldiçoar o povo de Israel, pelo menos não o abençoe.
26 But Balaam answered, and saide vnto Balak, Tolde not I thee, saying, All that the Lord speaketh, that must I do?
26 Balaão respondeu: — Eu já não disse que só posso fazer o que o
27 Againe Balak sayd vnto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I wil bring thee vnto another place, if so be it wil please God, that thou mayest thence curse them for my sake.
27 Então Balaque disse a Balaão: — Venha comigo, que eu vou levá-lo a outro lugar. Talvez Deus queira que de lá você amaldiçoe os israelitas.
28 So Balak brought Balaam vnto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Ieshmon.
28 Aí Balaque levou Balaão até o alto do monte Peor, no lado que dá para o deserto.
29 Then Balaam sayde vnto Balak, Make me here seuen altars, and prepare me here seuen bullocks, and seuen rammes.
29 Balaão disse a Balaque: — Construa para mim aqui sete altares e me prepare sete touros novos e sete carneiros.
30 And Balak did as Balaam had sayd, and offred a bullocke and a ram on euery altar.
30 Balaque fez como Balaão havia ordenado e ofereceu em sacrifício um touro novo e um carneiro em cada altar.
