1 There was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Michah,
1 Havia um homem chamado Mica, que vivia na região montanhosa de Efraim.
2 And he saide vnto his mother, The eleuen hundreth shekels of siluer that were taken from thee, for the which thou cursedst, and spakedst it, euen in mine hearing, beholde, the siluer is with me, I tooke it. Then his mother saide, Blessed be my sonne of the Lord.
2 Certo dia, disse à sua mãe: “Eu a ouvi amaldiçoar a pessoa que roubou suas 1.100 peças de prata. Na verdade, fui eu quem roubou essa prata; ela está comigo”. “O S
3 And when he had restored the eleuen hundreth shekels of siluer to his mother, his mother sayd, I had dedicate the siluer to the Lord of mine hand for my sonne, to make a grauen and molten image. Now therfore I will giue it thee again.
3 Ele devolveu a prata, e ela disse: “Dedico solenemente estas peças de prata ao S enhor . Em favor de meu filho, mandarei fazer uma imagem esculpida e um ídolo de metal”.
4 And when he had restored the money vnto his mother, his mother tooke two hundreth shekels of siluer, and gaue them to the founder, which made thereof a grauen and molten image, and it was in the house of Michah.
4 Assim, quando ele devolveu a prata à mãe, ela separou duzentas peças e as entregou a um ourives. Delas ele fez uma imagem esculpida e um ídolo de metal, que foram colocados na casa de Mica.
5 And this man Michah had an house of gods, and made an Ephod, and Teraphim, and cosecrated one of his sonnes, who was his Priest.
5 Esse homem, Mica, construiu um santuário para o ídolo e também fez um colete sacerdotal e alguns ídolos do lar. Então nomeou um de seus filhos como seu sacerdote pessoal.
6 In those dayes there was no King in Israel, but euery man did that which was good in his owne eyes.
6 Naqueles dias, Israel não tinha rei; cada um fazia o que parecia certo a seus próprios olhos.
7 There was also a yong man out of Bethlehem Iudah, of the familie of Iudah: who was a Leuite, and soiourned there.
7 Certo dia, um jovem levita que vivia em Belém de Judá chegou àquela região.
8 And the man departed out of the citie, euen out of Beth-lehem Iudah, to dwell where he coulde finde a place: and as he iourneyed, he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Michah
8 Havia saído de Belém à procura de outro lugar para morar. Em sua viagem, chegou à região montanhosa de Efraim e aconteceu de parar na casa de Mica.
9 And Michah saide vnto him, Whence comest thou? And the Leuite answered him, I come from Beth-lehem Iudah, and goe to dwell where I may finde a place.
9 “De onde você vem?”, perguntou Mica. Ele respondeu: “Sou levita, de Belém de Judá, e estou à procura de um lugar para morar”.
10 Then Michah said vnto him, Dwell with me, and be vnto me a father and a Priest, and I will giue thee ten shekels of siluer by yeere, and a sute of apparell, and thy meate and drinke. So the Leuite went in.
10 “Fique aqui comigo e seja pai e sacerdote para mim”, disse Mica. “Eu lhe darei dez peças de prata por ano, além de roupa e comida.”
11 And the Leuite was content to dwel with the man, and the yong man was vnto him as one of his owne sonnes.
11 O jovem levita concordou e se tornou como um dos filhos de Mica.
12 And Michah consecrated the Leuite, and the yong man was his Priest, and was in the house of Michah.
12 Então Mica nomeou o levita seu sacerdote pessoal, e o jovem ficou morando em sua casa.
13 Then said Michah, Nowe I know that the Lord will be good vnto me, seeing I haue a Leuite to my Priest.
13 Mica disse: “Agora sei que o S enhor será bondoso comigo, pois tenho um levita como meu sacerdote!”.
