1 There was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Michah,
1 Havia um homem da região montanhosa de Efraim cujo nome era Mica,
2 And he saide vnto his mother, The eleuen hundreth shekels of siluer that were taken from thee, for the which thou cursedst, and spakedst it, euen in mine hearing, beholde, the siluer is with me, I tooke it. Then his mother saide, Blessed be my sonne of the Lord.
2 o qual disse a sua mãe: Os mil e cem siclos de prata que te foram tirados, por cuja causa deitavas maldições e de que também me falaste, eis que esse dinheiro está comigo; eu o tomei. Então, lhe disse a mãe: Bendito do Senhor seja meu filho!
3 And when he had restored the eleuen hundreth shekels of siluer to his mother, his mother sayd, I had dedicate the siluer to the Lord of mine hand for my sonne, to make a grauen and molten image. Now therfore I will giue it thee again.
3 Assim, restituiu os mil e cem siclos de prata a sua mãe, que disse: De minha mão dedico este dinheiro ao Senhor para meu filho, para fazer uma imagem de escultura e uma de fundição, de sorte que, agora, eu to devolvo.
4 And when he had restored the money vnto his mother, his mother tooke two hundreth shekels of siluer, and gaue them to the founder, which made thereof a grauen and molten image, and it was in the house of Michah.
4 Porém ele restituiu o dinheiro a sua mãe, que tomou duzentos siclos de prata e os deu ao ourives, o qual fez deles uma imagem de escultura e uma de fundição; e a imagem esteve em casa de Mica.
5 And this man Michah had an house of gods, and made an Ephod, and Teraphim, and cosecrated one of his sonnes, who was his Priest.
5 E, assim, este homem, Mica, veio a ter uma casa de deuses; fez uma estola sacerdotal e ídolos do lar e consagrou a um de seus filhos, para que lhe fosse por sacerdote.
6 In those dayes there was no King in Israel, but euery man did that which was good in his owne eyes.
6 Naqueles dias, não havia rei em Israel; cada qual fazia o que achava mais reto.
7 There was also a yong man out of Bethlehem Iudah, of the familie of Iudah: who was a Leuite, and soiourned there.
7 Havia um moço de Belém de Judá, da tribo de Judá, que era levita e se demorava ali.
8 And the man departed out of the citie, euen out of Beth-lehem Iudah, to dwell where he coulde finde a place: and as he iourneyed, he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Michah
8 Esse homem partiu da cidade de Belém de Judá para ficar onde melhor lhe parecesse. Seguindo, pois, o seu caminho, chegou à região montanhosa de Efraim, até à casa de Mica.
9 And Michah saide vnto him, Whence comest thou? And the Leuite answered him, I come from Beth-lehem Iudah, and goe to dwell where I may finde a place.
9 Perguntou-lhe Mica: Donde vens? Ele lhe respondeu: Sou levita de Belém de Judá e vou ficar onde melhor me parecer.
10 Then Michah said vnto him, Dwell with me, and be vnto me a father and a Priest, and I will giue thee ten shekels of siluer by yeere, and a sute of apparell, and thy meate and drinke. So the Leuite went in.
10 Então, lhe disse Mica: Fica comigo e sê-me por pai e sacerdote; e cada ano te darei dez siclos de prata, o vestuário e o sustento. O levita entrou
11 And the Leuite was content to dwel with the man, and the yong man was vnto him as one of his owne sonnes.
11 e consentiu em ficar com aquele homem; e o moço lhe foi como um de seus filhos.
12 And Michah consecrated the Leuite, and the yong man was his Priest, and was in the house of Michah.
12 Consagrou Mica ao moço levita, que lhe passou a ser sacerdote; e ficou em casa de Mica.
13 Then said Michah, Nowe I know that the Lord will be good vnto me, seeing I haue a Leuite to my Priest.
13 Então, disse Mica: Sei, agora, que o Senhor me fará bem, porquanto tenho um levita por sacerdote.
