1 And Iesus went vnto the mount of Oliues,
1 [Depois todos foram para casa, mas Jesus foi para o monte das Oliveiras.
2 And early in the morning came againe into the Temple, and all the people came vnto him, and he sate downe, and taught them.
2 De madrugada ele voltou ao pátio do Templo, e o povo se reuniu em volta dele. Jesus estava sentado, ensinando a todos.
3 Then the Scribes, and the Pharises brought vnto him a woman, taken in adulterie, and set her in the middes,
3 Aí alguns mestres da Lei e fariseus levaram a Jesus uma mulher que tinha sido apanhada em adultério e a obrigaram a ficar de pé no meio de todos.
4 And said vnto him, Master, we foud this woman committing adulterie, euen in the very acte.
4 Eles disseram: — Mestre, esta mulher foi apanhada no ato de adultério.
5 Now Moses in our Law commanded, that such should be stoned: what sayest thou therefore?
5 De acordo com a Lei que Moisés nos deu, as mulheres adúlteras devem ser mortas a pedradas. Mas o senhor, o que é que diz sobre isso?
6 And this they saide to tempt him, that they might haue, whereof to accuse him. But Iesus stouped downe, and with his finger wrote on the groud.
6 Eles fizeram essa pergunta para conseguir uma prova contra Jesus, pois queriam acusá-lo. Mas ele se abaixou e começou a escrever no chão com o dedo.
7 And while they continued asking him, hee lift himselfe vp, and sayde vnto them, Let him that is among you without sinne, cast the first stone at her.
7 Como eles continuaram a fazer a mesma pergunta, Jesus endireitou o corpo e disse a eles:
8 And againe hee stouped downe, and wrote on the ground.
8 Depois abaixou-se outra vez e continuou a escrever no chão.
9 And when they heard it, being accused by their owne conscience, they went out one by one, beginning at ye eldest euen to the last: so Iesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the mids.
9 Quando ouviram isso, todos foram embora, um por um, começando pelos mais velhos. Ficaram só Jesus e a mulher, e ela continuou ali, de pé.
10 When Iesus had lift vp himselfe againe, and sawe no man, but the woman, hee saide vnto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
10 Então Jesus endireitou o corpo e disse:
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Iesus said, Neither do I condemne thee: go and sinne no more.
11 — Ninguém, senhor! — respondeu ela. Jesus disse:
12 Then spake Iesus againe vnto them, saying, I am that light of the worlde: hee that followeth mee, shall not walke in darkenes, but shall haue that light of life.
12 De novo Jesus começou a falar com eles e disse:
13 The Pharises therefore saide vnto him, Thou bearest recorde of thy selfe: thy recorde is not true.
13 Os fariseus disseram a Jesus: — Agora você está falando a favor de você mesmo. Por isso o que você diz não tem valor.
14 Iesus answered, and sayde vnto them, Though I beare recorde of my selfe, yet my recorde is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go: but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I goe.
14 Jesus respondeu:
15 Ye iudge after the flesh: I iudge no man.
15 Vocês julgam de modo puramente humano; mas eu não julgo ninguém.
16 And if I also iudge, my iudgement is true: for I am not alone, but I, and the Father, that sent mee.
16 E, se eu julgar, o meu julgamento é verdadeiro porque não julgo sozinho, pois o Pai, que me enviou, está comigo.
17 And it is also written in your Lawe, that the testimonie of two men is true.
17 Na
18 I am one that beare witnes of my selfe, and the Father that sent me, beareth witnes of me.
18 Eu dou testemunho a respeito de mim mesmo, e o Pai, que me enviou, também dá testemunho a meu respeito.
19 Then saide they vnto him, Where is that Father of thine? Iesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor that Father of mine. If ye had knowen me, ye should haue knowen that Father of mine also.
19 — Onde está o seu pai? — perguntaram. Jesus respondeu:
20 These wordes spake Iesus in the treasurie, as hee taught in the Temple, and no man layde handes on him: for his houre was not yet come.
20 Jesus disse essas coisas quando estava ensinando no pátio do Templo, perto da caixa das ofertas. Ninguém o prendeu porque ainda não tinha chegado a sua hora.
21 Then saide Iesus againe vnto them, I goe my way, and ye shall seeke me, and shall die in your sinnes, Whither I goe, can ye not come.
21 Jesus disse outra vez:
22 Then said the Iewes, Will he kill himselfe, because he saith, Whither I goe, can ye not come?
22 Os líderes judeus disseram: — Ele diz que nós não podemos ir para onde ele vai! Será que ele vai se matar?
23 And hee saide vnto them, Ye are from beneath, I am from aboue: ye are of this world, I am not of this worlde.
23 Jesus continuou:
24 I said therefore vnto you, That ye shall die in your sinnes: for except ye beleeue, that I am he, ye shall die in your sinnes.
24 Por isso eu disse que vocês vão morrer sem o perdão dos seus pecados. De fato, morrerão sem o perdão dos seus pecados se não crerem que “
25 Then saide they vnto him, Who art thou? And Iesus saide vnto them, Euen the same thing that I said vnto you from the beginning.
25 — Quem é você? — perguntaram a Jesus. Ele respondeu:
26 I haue many things to say, and to iudge of you: but he that sent me, is true, and the things that I haue heard of him, those speake I to the world.
26 Existem muitas coisas a respeito de vocês das quais eu preciso falar e as quais eu preciso julgar. Porém quem me enviou é verdadeiro, e eu digo ao mundo somente o que ele me disse.
27 They vnderstoode not that hee spake to them of the Father.
27 Eles não entenderam que ele estava falando a respeito do Pai.
28 Then said Iesus vnto them, When ye haue lift vp the Sonne of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I doe nothing of my selfe, but as my Father hath taught me, so I speake these things.
28 Por isso Jesus disse:
29 For he that sent me, is with me: the Father hath not left me alone, because I do alwayes those things that please him.
29 Quem me enviou está comigo e não me deixou sozinho, pois faço sempre o que lhe agrada.
30 As hee spake these thinges, many beleeued in him.
30 Quando Jesus disse isso, muitos creram nele.
31 Then saide Iesus to the Iewes which beleeued in him, If ye continue in my worde, ye are verely my disciples,
31 Então Jesus disse para os que creram nele:
32 And shall know the trueth, and the trueth shall make you free.
32 e conhecerão a verdade, e a verdade os libertará.
33 They answered him, Wee be Abrahams seede, and were neuer bonde to any man: why sayest thou then, Ye shalbe made free?
33 Eles responderam: — Nós somos descendentes de Abraão e nunca fomos escravos de ninguém. Como é que você diz que ficaremos livres?
34 Iesus answered them, Verely, verely I say vnto you, that whosoeuer committeth sinne, is the seruant of sinne.
34 Jesus disse a eles:
35 And the seruant abideth not in the house for euer: but the Sonne abideth for euer.
35 O escravo não fica sempre com a família, mas o filho sempre faz parte da família.
36 If that Sonne therefore shall make you free, ye shalbe free in deede.
36 Se o Filho os libertar, vocês serão, de fato, livres.
37 I know that ye are Abrahams seede, but yee seeke to kill mee, because my worde hath no place in you.
37 Eu sei que vocês são descendentes de Abraão; porém estão tentando me matar porque não aceitam os meus ensinamentos.
38 I speake that which I haue seene with my Father: and ye doe that which ye haue seene with your father.
38 Eu falo das coisas que o meu Pai me mostrou, mas vocês fazem o que aprenderam com o pai de vocês.
39 They answered, and saide vnto him, Abraham is our father. Iesus said vnto them, If ye were Abrahams children, ye woulde doe the workes of Abraham.
39 — O nosso pai é Abraão! — responderam eles. Então Jesus disse:
40 But nowe ye goe about to kill mee, a man that haue told you the trueth, which I haue heard of God: this did not Abraham.
40 Mas eu lhes tenho dito a verdade que ouvi de Deus, e assim mesmo vocês estão tentando me matar. Abraão nunca fez uma coisa assim!
41 Ye do the workes of your father. Then said they to him, We are not borne of fornication: we haue one Father, which is God.
41 Vocês estão fazendo o que o pai de vocês fez. Eles responderam: — Nós não somos filhos ilegítimos; nós temos um Pai, que é Deus!
42 Therefore Iesus sayde vnto them, If God were your Father, then woulde ye loue mee: for I proceeded foorth, and came from God, neither came I of my selfe, but he sent me.
42 Jesus disse a eles:
43 Why doe ye not vnderstande my talke? because ye cannot heare my worde.
43 Por que é que vocês não entendem o que eu digo? É porque não querem ouvir a minha mensagem.
44 Ye are of your father the deuill, and the lustes of your father ye will doe: hee hath bene a murtherer from the beginning, and abode not in the trueth, because there is no trueth in him. When hee speaketh a lie, then speaketh hee of his owne: for he is a liar, and the father thereof.
44 Vocês são filhos do Diabo e querem fazer o que o pai de vocês quer. Desde a criação do mundo ele foi assassino e nunca esteve do lado da verdade porque nele não existe verdade. Quando o Diabo mente, está apenas fazendo o que é o seu costume, pois é mentiroso e é o pai de todas as mentiras.
45 And because I tell you the trueth, yee beleeue me not.
45 Mas, porque eu digo a verdade, vocês não creem em mim.
46 Which of you can rebuke me of sinne? and if I say the trueth, why do ye not beleeue me?
46 Qual de vocês pode provar que eu tenho algum pecado? Se digo a verdade, por que não creem em mim?
47 He that is of God, heareth Gods wordes: yee therefore heare them not, because ye are not of God.
47 A pessoa que é de Deus escuta as palavras de Deus. Vocês não escutam as palavras de Deus porque vocês não são dele.
48 Then answered the Iewes, and said vnto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritane, and hast a deuil?
48 Eles disseram a Jesus: — Por acaso não temos razão quando dizemos que você é
49 Iesus answered, I haue not a deuil, but I honour my Father, and ye haue dishonoured me.
49 Jesus respondeu:
50 And I seeke not mine owne praise: but there is one that seeketh it, and iudgeth.
50 Não procuro conseguir elogios para mim mesmo; mas existe alguém que procura consegui-los para mim, e ele é o Juiz.
51 Verely, verely I say vnto you, If a man keepe my word, he shall neuer see death.
51 Eu afirmo a vocês que isto é verdade: quem obedecer aos meus ensinamentos não morrerá nunca.
52 Then said the Iewes to him, Now know we that thou hast a deuill. Abraham is dead, and the Prophets: and thou sayest, If a man keepe my worde, he shall neuer taste of death.
52 Então eles disseram: — Agora temos a certeza de que você está dominado por um demônio! Abraão e todos os
53 Art thou greater then our father Abraham, which is dead? and the Prophets are dead: whome makest thou thy selfe?
53 Será que você é mais importante do que Abraão, o nosso pai, que morreu? E os profetas também morreram! Quem você pensa que é?
54 Iesus answered, If I honour my selfe, mine honour is nothing worth: it is my Father that honoureth me, whome ye say, that hee is your God.
54 Ele respondeu:
55 Yet ye haue not knowen him: but I knowe him, and if I should say I know him not, I should be a liar like vnto you: but I knowe him, and keepe his worde.
55 Vocês nunca conheceram a Deus, mas eu o conheço. Se eu disser que não o conheço, serei mentiroso como vocês; mas eu o conheço e obedeço ao que ele manda.
56 Your father Abraham reioyced to see my day, and he sawe it, and was glad.
56 Abraão, o pai de vocês, ficou alegre ao ver o tempo da minha vinda. Ele viu esse tempo e ficou feliz.
57 Then sayd ye Iewes vnto him, Thou art not yet fiftie yeere olde, and hast thou seene Abraham?
57 — Você não tem nem cinquenta anos e viu Abraão? — perguntaram eles.
58 Iesus sayd vnto them, Verely, verely I say vnto you, before Abraham was, I am.
58 — Eu afirmo a vocês que isto é verdade: antes de Abraão nascer, “ — respondeu Jesus.
59 Then tooke they vp stones, to cast at him, but Iesus hid himselfe, and went out of the Temple: And hee passed through the middes of them, and so went his way.
59 Então eles pegaram pedras para atirar em Jesus, mas ele se escondeu e saiu do pátio do Templo.
