1 After that, there was a feast of the Iewes, and Iesus went vp to Hierusalem.
1 Depois disso, havia uma festa dos judeus, e Jesus subiu para Jerusalém.
2 And there is at Hierusalem by the place of the sheepe, a poole called in Ebrew Bethesda, hauing fiue porches:
2 Ora, em Jerusalém, próximo ao mercado das ovelhas, há um tanque, que é chamado na língua hebraica Betesda, o qual tem cinco alpendres.
3 In the which lay a great multitude of sicke folke, of blinde, halte, and withered, wayting for the mouing of the water.
3 Nestes jazia grande multidão de pessoas enfermas, cegos, mancos e paralíticos, esperando o movimento da água.
4 For an Angel went downe at a certaine season into the poole, and troubled the water: whosoeuer then first, after the stirring of the water, stepped in, was made whole of whatsoeuer disease he had.
4 Pois um anjo descia em certo tempo ao tanque, e agitava a água; aquele, pois, que primeiro entrava na água, após ter sido agitada, sarava de qualquer enfermidade que ele tivesse.
5 And a certaine man was there, which had bene diseased eight and thirtie yeeres.
5 E ali estava um certo homem, que tinha uma enfermidade há trinta e oito anos.
6 When Iesus sawe him lie, and knew that he nowe long time had bene diseased, he saide vnto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
6 E Jesus, vendo este deitado e sabendo que ele estava neste estado havia muito tempo, disse-lhe: Tu queres ficar são?
7 The sicke man answered him, Sir, I haue no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the poole: but while I am comming, another steppeth downe before me.
7 O homem enfermo respondeu-lhe: Senhor, eu não tenho homem algum que me coloque no tanque quando a água é agitada; mas, enquanto eu vou, desce outro antes de mim.
8 Iesus said vnto him, Rise: take vp thy bed, and walke.
8 Jesus disse-lhe: Levanta-te, toma o teu leito, e anda.
9 And immediatly the man was made whole, and tooke vp his bed, and walked: and the same day was the Sabbath.
9 E, imediatamente o homem ficou são, e tomou o seu leito, e andou; e aquele dia era o shabat.
10 The Iewes therefore said to him that was made whole, It is the Sabbath day: it is not lawfull for thee to cary thy bed.
10 Então, os judeus disseram àquele que tinha sido curado: É dia do shabat, não te é lícito carregar teu leito.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, he said vnto me, Take vp thy bed, and walke.
11 Ele respondeu-lhes: Aquele que me curou, ele mesmo disse: Toma o teu leito, e anda.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said vnto thee, Take vp thy bed and walke?
12 Então eles perguntaram: Quem é o homem que te disse: Toma o teu leito, e anda?
13 And he that was healed, knewe not who it was: for Iesus had conueied himselfe away from the multitude that was in that place.
13 E o que fora curado não sabia quem era, porque Jesus havia se afastado, por causa da multidão naquele lugar.
14 And after that, Iesus founde him in the Temple, and said vnto him, Beholde, thou art made whole: sinne no more, lest a worse thing come vnto thee.
14 Depois, Jesus encontrou-o no templo e disse-lhe: Eis que tu já estás são; não peques mais, para que te não aconteça coisa pior.
15 The man departed and tolde the Iewes that it was Iesus, which had made him whole.
15 O homem partiu, e contou aos judeus que era Jesus o que o curara.
16 And therefore the Iewes did persecute Iesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the Sabbath day.
16 E por isso os judeus perseguiam a Jesus, e buscavam matá-lo, porque ele fazia essas coisas no dia do shabat.
17 But Iesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I worke.
17 Mas Jesus lhes respondeu: Meu Pai trabalha até agora, e eu também trabalho.
18 Therefore the Iewes sought the more to kill him: not onely because he had broken the Sabbath: but said also that God was his Father, and made himselfe equall with God.
18 Portanto, os judeus ainda mais procuravam matá-lo, porque não só violava o shabat, mas também dizia que Deus era seu Pai, fazendo-se igual a Deus.
19 Then answered Iesus, and said vnto them, Verely, verely I say vnto you, The Sonne can doe nothing of himselfe, saue that he seeth the Father doe: for whatsoeuer things he doth, the same things doeth the Sonne in like maner.
19 Então, respondeu Jesus e disse-lhes: Na verdade, na verdade eu vos digo: O Filho não pode fazer nada por si mesmo, a não ser o que vê o Pai fazendo; porque todas as coisas que ele faz, o Filho também da mesma forma o faz.
20 For the Father loueth the Sonne, and sheweth him all things, whatsoeuer he himselfe doeth, and he will shewe him greater workes then these, that ye should marueile.
20 Porque o Pai ama ao Filho, e mostra-lhe todas as coisas que ele mesmo faz; e ele lhe mostrará maiores obras do que estas, para que vos maravilheis.
21 For likewise as the Father rayseth vp the dead, and quickeneth them, so the Sonne quickeneth whom he will.
21 Porque assim como o Pai levanta os mortos e os vivifica, assim também o Filho vivifica aqueles que quer.
22 For the Father iudgeth no man, but hath committed all iudgement vnto the Sonne,
22 Porque o Pai a nenhum homem julga, mas confiou ao Filho todo o julgamento;
23 Because that all men shoulde honour the Sonne, as they honour the Father: he that honoureth not the Sonne, the same honoureth not the Father, which hath sent him.
23 para que todos os homens honrem o Filho, assim como honram o Pai. Quem não honra o Filho, não honra o Pai que o enviou.
24 Verely, verely I say vnto you, he that heareth my worde, and beleeueth him that sent me, hath euerlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but hath passed from death vnto life.
24 Na verdade, na verdade eu vos digo: Quem ouve a minha palavra, e crê naquele que me enviou, tem a vida eterna, e não entrará em condenação, mas já passou da morte para a vida.
25 Verely, verely I say vnto you, the houre shall come, and now is, when the dead shall heare the voyce of the Sonne of God: and they that heare it, shall liue.
25 Na verdade, na verdade eu vos digo: Vem a hora, e agora é, em que os mortos ouvirão a voz do Filho de Deus, e os que a ouvirem viverão.
26 For as the Father hath life in himselfe, so likewise hath he giuen to the Sonne to haue life in himselfe,
26 Porque assim como o Pai tem vida em si mesmo, assim deu ao Filho ter vida em si mesmo.
27 And hath giuen him power also to execute iudgement, in that he is the Sonne of man.
27 E deu-lhe autoridade para também executar julgamento, porque ele é o Filho do homem.
28 Marueile not at this: for the houre shall come, in the which all that are in the graues, shall heare his voyce.
28 Não vos maravilheis disso, porque vem a hora em que todos os que estão nos sepulcros ouvirão a sua voz,
29 And they shall come foorth, that haue done good, vnto ye resurrection of life: but they that haue done euil, vnto the resurrection of condemnation.
29 e sairão os que fizeram o bem para a ressurreição da vida, e os que fizeram o mal para a ressurreição da condenação.
30 I can doe nothing of mine owne selfe: as I heare, I iudge: and my iudgement is iust, because I seeke not mine owne will, but the will of the Father who hath sent me.
30 Eu não posso fazer nada por mim mesmo; como eu ouço, eu julgo; e o meu juízo é justo, porque não busco a minha própria vontade, mas a vontade do Pai que me enviou.
31 If I should beare witnesse of my selfe, my witnesse were not true.
31 Se eu der testemunho de mim mesmo, o meu testemunho não é verdadeiro.
32 There is another that beareth witnesse of me, and I know that the witnesse, which he beareth of me, is true.
32 Há outro que dá testemunho de mim, e eu sei que o testemunho que ele dá de mim é verdadeiro.
33 Ye sent vnto Iohn, and he bare witnesse vnto the trueth.
33 Vós mandastes a João, e ele deu testemunho da verdade.
34 But I receiue not the record of man: neuerthelesse these things I say, that ye might be saued.
34 Eu, porém, não recebo testemunho vindo de homem, mas eu digo estas coisas, para que possais ser salvos.
35 He was a burning, and a shining candle: and ye would for a season haue reioyced in his light.
35 Ele era a luz que iluminava e resplandecia, e vós quisestes alegrar-vos por um pouco de tempo com a sua luz.
36 But I haue greater witnesse then the witnesse of Iohn: for the workes which the Father hath giuen me to finish, the same workes that I doe, beare witnesse of me, that the Father sent me.
36 Mas eu tenho um testemunho maior do que o de João; porque as obras que o Pai me deu para realizar, essas obras que eu faço testemunham de mim, que o Pai me enviou.
37 And the Father himselfe, which hath sent me, beareth witnesse of me. Ye haue not heard his voyce at any time, neither haue ye seene his shape.
37 E o próprio Pai, que me enviou, tem dado testemunho de mim. Vós nunca ouvistes a sua voz, nem vistes a sua forma.
38 And his worde haue you not abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye beleeued not.
38 E a sua palavra não permanece em vós, porque vós não credes naquele que ele enviou.
39 Searche the Scriptures: for in them ye thinke to haue eternall life, and they are they which testifie of me.
39 Examinai as escrituras; porque nelas pensai que tendes a vida eterna; e são elas que testificam de mim.
40 But ye will not come to me, that ye might haue life.
40 E não quereis vir a mim para terdes vida.
41 I receiue not the prayse of men.
41 Eu não recebo honra dos homens.
42 But I know you, that ye haue not the loue of God in you.
42 Mas eu vos conheço e sei que não tendes em vós o amor de Deus.
43 I am come in my Fathers Name, and ye receiue me not: if another shall come in his owne name, him will ye receiue.
43 Eu vim em nome de meu Pai, e não me recebeis; se outro vier em seu próprio nome, a esse recebereis.
44 How can ye beleeue, which receiue honour one of another, and seeke not the honour that commeth of God alone?
44 Como podeis crer, vós que recebeis honra uns dos outros, e não buscais a honra que vem só de Deus?
45 Doe not thinke that I will accuse you to my Father: there is one that accuseth you, euen Moses, in whom ye trust.
45 Não penseis que eu vos hei de acusar para o Pai; há um que vos acusa, Moisés, em quem vós confiais.
46 For had ye beleeued Moses, ye would haue beleeued me: for he wrote of me.
46 Porque se vós crêsseis em Moisés, teriam crido em mim, porque de mim ele escreveu.
47 But if ye beleeue not his writings, how shall ye beleeue my wordes?
47 Mas, se não credes nos seus escritos, como crereis nas minhas palavras?
