1 Behold, my seruaunt: I will stay vpon him: mine elect, in whom my soule deliteth: I haue put my Spirit vpon him: he shall bring forth iudgement to the Gentiles.
1 O Senhor Deus diz: “Aqui está o meu o meu escolhido, que dá muita alegria ao meu coração. Pus nele o meu Espírito, e ele anunciará a minha vontade a todos os povos.
2 He shall not crie, nor lift vp, nor cause his voice to be heard in the streete.
2 Não gritará, não clamará, não fará discursos nas ruas.
3 A bruised reede shall hee not breake, and the smoking flaxe shall he not quench: he shall bring foorth iudgement in trueth.
3 Não esmagará um galho que está quebrado, nem apagará a luz que já está fraca. Com toda a dedicação, ele anunciará a minha vontade.
4 He shall not faile nor be discouraged till he haue set iudgement in the earth: and the yles shall waite for his lawe.
4 Não se cansará, nem desanimará, mas continuará firme até que todos aceitem a minha vontade. As nações distantes estão esperando para receber os seus ensinamentos.”
5 Thus sayeth God the Lord (he that created the heauens and spred them abroad: he that stretched foorth the earth, and the buddes thereof: he that giueth breath vnto the people vpon it, and spirit to them that walke therein)
5 O Senhor Deus criou os céus e os estendeu; formou a terra e tudo o que nela existe e deu vida e fôlego a todos os seus moradores. E agora o
6 I the Lord haue called thee in righteousnesse, and will hold thine hand, and I will keepe thee, and giue thee for a couenant of the people, and for a light of the Gentiles,
6 “Eu, o Senhor , o chamei e o peguei pela mão, para que haja salvação por meio de você. Eu o criei e o enviei como garantia da como a luz da salvação que darei aos outros povos;
7 That thou maist open the eyes of the blind, and bring out the prisoners from the prison: and them that sitte in darkenesse, out of the prison house.
7 para abrir os olhos dos cegos, pôr em liberdade os prisioneiros e soltar os que estão em prisões escuras.
8 I am the Lord, this is my Name, and my glory wil I not giue to another, neither my praise to grauen images.
8 Eu sou o : este é o meu nome, e não permito que as imagens recebam o louvor que somente eu mereço.”
9 Beholde, the former thinges are come to passe, and newe things doe I declare: before they come foorth, I tell you of them.
9 Deus diz ao seu povo: “As coisas que prometi no passado já se cumpriram, e agora vou lhes anunciar coisas novas, para que vocês as saibam antes mesmo que elas aconteçam.”
10 Sing vnto the Lord a newe song, and his praise from the ende of the earth: yee that goe downe to the sea, and all that is therein: the yles and the inhabitants thereof.
10 Cantem ao Senhor uma nova canção! Que ele seja louvado no mundo inteiro: pelos que navegam nos mares, pelas criaturas que vivem nas águas do mar e pelos povos de todas as nações distantes!
11 Let the wildernesse and the cities thereof lift vp their voyce, the townes that Kedar doeth inhabite: let the inhabitants of the rocks sing: let them shoute from the toppe of the mountaines.
11 Que no deserto e nas suas cidades Deus seja louvado, e que os moradores de Quedar o louvem! Moradores de Selá, alegrem-se e cantem no alto das montanhas!
12 Let them giue glorie vnto the Lord, and declare his praise in the ylands.
12 Que o Senhor Deus seja louvado, e que a sua
13 The Lord shall go forth as a gyant: he shall stirre vp his courage like a man of warre: he shall shout and crie, and shall preuaile against his enemies.
13 O Senhor se prepara para a guerra e sai pronto para lutar, como um soldado valente. Com toda a força, ele solta o grito de batalha e com o seu poder derrota os seus inimigos.
14 I haue a long time holden my peace: I haue beene still and refrained my selfe: nowe will I crie like a trauailing woman: I will destroy and deuoure at once.
14 O Senhor diz: “Por muito tempo, eu não disse nada, fiquei calado e não respondi; mas agora vou gritar como uma mulher em dores de parto, vou me lamentar e clamar.
15 I will make waste mountaines, and hilles, and drie vp all their herbes, and I will make the floods ylands, and I will drie vp the pooles.
15 Vou destruir os morros e as montanhas e fazer secar todas as plantas e árvores. Farei com que os rios virem desertos e com que todos os poços fiquem secos.
16 And I will bring the blinde by a way, that they knewe not, and lead them by paths that they haue not knowen: I will make darkenesse light before them, and crooked thinges straight. These thinges will I doe vnto them, and not forsake them.
16 Guiarei os cegos por um caminho que não conhecem, por uma estrada que eles nunca pisaram antes. A escuridão que os cerca eu farei virar luz e aplanarei os caminhos ásperos. São estas as minhas promessas, e eu as cumprirei sem falta.
17 They shall be turned backe: they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in grauen images, and say to the molten images, Yee are our gods.
17 Mas serão derrotados e humilhados todos os que confiam em ídolos, todos os que dizem às imagens: ‘Vocês são os nossos deuses.’ ”
18 Heare, ye deafe: and ye blinde, regarde, that ye may see.
18 O Senhor diz: “Escute, gente surda! Olhe bem, gente cega!
19 Who is blinde but my seruaunt? or deafe as my messenger, that I sent? who is blind as the perfit, and blinde as the Lordes seruant?
19 Ninguém é tão cego como o povo de Israel, o meu servo , ou tão surdo como esse povo que estou enviando. Não há quem seja tão cego como o meu mensageiro, nem tão surdo como o servo do
20 Seeing many things, but thou keepest them not? opening the eares, but he heareth not?
20 Povo de Israel, você tem visto muitas coisas, mas não entendeu nenhuma delas; você tem ouvido muitas coisas, mas não aprendeu nada.”
21 The Lord is willing for his righteousnesse sake that he may magnifie the Lawe, and exalt it.
21 O Senhor é o Deus que salva o seu povo e por isso quis que eles conhecessem e respeitassem a sua
22 But this people is robbed and spoiled, and shalbe all snared in dungeons, and they shalbe hid in prison houses: they shall be for a pray, and none shall deliuer: a spoile, and none shall say, Restore.
22 Mas eles foram assaltados e roubados; foram postos na prisão e trancados nas celas. Os seus inimigos os levaram como prisioneiros, e não há ninguém que os ponha em liberdade.
23 Who among you shall hearken to this, and take heede, and heare for afterwardes?
23 Ah! Se um de vocês desse atenção ao que estou dizendo, se daqui em diante alguém escutasse com cuidado!
24 Who gaue Iaakob for a spoyle, and Israel to the robbers? Did not ye Lord, because we haue sinned against him? for they woulde not walke in his waies, neither be obedient vnto his Lawe.
24 Quem foi que entregou o povo de Israel aos seus inimigos? Quem foi que deixou que ele fosse roubado? Foi o próprio contra quem temos pecado! Não quisemos seguir os seus caminhos, nem obedecer às suas leis.
25 Therefore hee hath powred vpon him his fierce wrath, and the strength of battell: and it set him on fire round about, and he knewe not, and it burned him vp, yet he considered not.
25 Por isso, ele derramou sobre nós a sua ira e nos castigou com uma guerra violenta. A sua ira queimou como fogo em volta de nós, mas mesmo assim ninguém se importou; nenhum de nós conseguiu aprender nada.
