1 Behold, my seruaunt: I will stay vpon him: mine elect, in whom my soule deliteth: I haue put my Spirit vpon him: he shall bring forth iudgement to the Gentiles.
1 “Eis aqui o meu servo, a quem sustenho; o meu escolhido, em quem a minha alma se agrada. Pus sobre ele o meu Espírito, e ele promulgará o direito para os gentios.
2 He shall not crie, nor lift vp, nor cause his voice to be heard in the streete.
2 Não clamará, não gritará, nem fará ouvir na praça a sua voz.
3 A bruised reede shall hee not breake, and the smoking flaxe shall he not quench: he shall bring foorth iudgement in trueth.
3 Não esmagará a cana quebrada, nem apagará o pavio que fumega; com fidelidade, promulgará o direito.
4 He shall not faile nor be discouraged till he haue set iudgement in the earth: and the yles shall waite for his lawe.
4 Não desanimará, nem será esmagado até que estabeleça na terra a justiça; e as terras do mar aguardarão a sua doutrina.”
5 Thus sayeth God the Lord (he that created the heauens and spred them abroad: he that stretched foorth the earth, and the buddes thereof: he that giueth breath vnto the people vpon it, and spirit to them that walke therein)
5 Assim diz Deus, o Senhor , que criou os céus e os estendeu; que formou a terra e tudo o que ela produz; que dá fôlego de vida ao povo que nela está e o espírito aos que andam nela:
6 I the Lord haue called thee in righteousnesse, and will hold thine hand, and I will keepe thee, and giue thee for a couenant of the people, and for a light of the Gentiles,
6 “Eu, o Senhor , chamei você em justiça; eu o tomarei pela mão, o guardarei, e farei de você mediador da aliança com o povo e luz para os gentios;
7 That thou maist open the eyes of the blind, and bring out the prisoners from the prison: and them that sitte in darkenesse, out of the prison house.
7 para abrir os olhos dos cegos, para tirar da prisão os cativos, e do cárcere, os que jazem em trevas.
8 I am the Lord, this is my Name, and my glory wil I not giue to another, neither my praise to grauen images.
8 Eu sou o Senhor : este é o meu nome. Não darei a mais ninguém a minha glória, nem a minha honra, às imagens de escultura.”
9 Beholde, the former thinges are come to passe, and newe things doe I declare: before they come foorth, I tell you of them.
9 “Eis que as primeiras predições já se cumpriram, e agora eu lhes anuncio coisas novas; e, antes que se cumpram, eu as revelo a vocês.”
10 Sing vnto the Lord a newe song, and his praise from the ende of the earth: yee that goe downe to the sea, and all that is therein: the yles and the inhabitants thereof.
10 Cantem ao Senhor um cântico novo! Que ele seja louvado desde os confins da terra pelos que navegam no mar, por todas as criaturas que vivem nele, e pelas terras do mar e os seus moradores.
11 Let the wildernesse and the cities thereof lift vp their voyce, the townes that Kedar doeth inhabite: let the inhabitants of the rocks sing: let them shoute from the toppe of the mountaines.
11 Ergam a voz o deserto, as suas cidades e as aldeias habitadas por Quedar; exultem os que habitam em Sela e clamem do alto dos montes;
12 Let them giue glorie vnto the Lord, and declare his praise in the ylands.
12 deem honra ao Senhor e anunciem a sua glória nas terras do mar.
13 The Lord shall go forth as a gyant: he shall stirre vp his courage like a man of warre: he shall shout and crie, and shall preuaile against his enemies.
13 O Senhor sairá como valente, despertará o seu zelo como homem de guerra. Clamará, lançará forte grito de guerra e mostrará sua força contra os seus inimigos.
14 I haue a long time holden my peace: I haue beene still and refrained my selfe: nowe will I crie like a trauailing woman: I will destroy and deuoure at once.
14 “Por muito tempo me calei, estive em silêncio e me contive; mas agora darei gritos como mulher que está dando à luz, e ao mesmo tempo ofegarei, e estarei esbaforido.
15 I will make waste mountaines, and hilles, and drie vp all their herbes, and I will make the floods ylands, and I will drie vp the pooles.
15 Devastarei os montes e as colinas, e farei secar toda a sua vegetação; tornarei os rios em terra firme e secarei os lagos.
16 And I will bring the blinde by a way, that they knewe not, and lead them by paths that they haue not knowen: I will make darkenesse light before them, and crooked thinges straight. These thinges will I doe vnto them, and not forsake them.
16 Guiarei os cegos por um caminho que não conhecem, farei com que andem por veredas desconhecidas; tornarei as trevas em luz diante deles e aplanarei os caminhos ásperos. Estas coisas lhes farei e nunca os abandonarei.
17 They shall be turned backe: they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in grauen images, and say to the molten images, Yee are our gods.
17 Retrocederão e ficarão cobertos de vergonha os que confiam em imagens de escultura e que dizem às imagens de fundição: ‘Vocês são os nossos deuses.’”
18 Heare, ye deafe: and ye blinde, regarde, that ye may see.
18 “Escutem, surdos, e vocês, cegos, olhem, para que possam ver.
19 Who is blinde but my seruaunt? or deafe as my messenger, that I sent? who is blind as the perfit, and blinde as the Lordes seruant?
19 Quem é tão cego como o meu servo, ou tão surdo como o meu mensageiro, a quem envio? Quem é tão cego como o meu amigo, e tão cego como o servo do
20 Seeing many things, but thou keepest them not? opening the eares, but he heareth not?
20 Você vê muitas coisas, mas não as observa; ainda que tenha os ouvidos abertos, não ouve nada.”
21 The Lord is willing for his righteousnesse sake that he may magnifie the Lawe, and exalt it.
21 Foi do agrado do Senhor , por amor da sua própria justiça, engrandecer a lei e torná-la gloriosa.
22 But this people is robbed and spoiled, and shalbe all snared in dungeons, and they shalbe hid in prison houses: they shall be for a pray, and none shall deliuer: a spoile, and none shall say, Restore.
22 Mas este é um povo roubado e saqueado. Todos estão trancados em cavernas e escondidos em cárceres; foram feitos prisioneiros, e não há ninguém que os livre; foram levados como despojo, e ninguém diz: “Devolva!”
23 Who among you shall hearken to this, and take heede, and heare for afterwardes?
23 Quem de vocês dará ouvidos a isto? Quem dará atenção e ouvirá o que há de ser depois?
24 Who gaue Iaakob for a spoyle, and Israel to the robbers? Did not ye Lord, because we haue sinned against him? for they woulde not walke in his waies, neither be obedient vnto his Lawe.
24 Quem entregou Jacó por despojo e Israel aos roubadores? Por acaso não foi o aquele contra quem pecaram e nos caminhos do qual não queriam andar, não dando ouvidos à sua lei?
25 Therefore hee hath powred vpon him his fierce wrath, and the strength of battell: and it set him on fire round about, and he knewe not, and it burned him vp, yet he considered not.
25 Por isso derramou sobre eles o furor da sua ira e a violência da guerra; ateou fogo em tudo o que estava em volta deles, mas eles não entenderam; ele os queimou, mas eles não fizeram caso.
