1 Keep silence before mee, O ylands, and let the people renue their strength: let the come neere, and let them speake: let vs come together into iudgement.
1 “Calem-se diante de mim, ó ilhas! E que os povos renovem as suas forças! Que se aproximem e, então, falem; vamos nos reunir para o julgamento.”
2 Who raised vp iustice from the East, and called him to his foote? and gaue the nations before him, and subdued the Kings? he gaue them as dust to his sword, and as scattered stubble vnto his bowe.
2 “Quem fez surgir no Oriente aquele a cujos passos segue a vitória? Quem lhe entrega as nações e faz com que os reis se submetam a ele? Com a sua espada ele os transforma em pó, e com o seu arco, em palha que o vento dispersa.
3 He pursued them, and passed safely by the way that he had not gone with his feete.
3 Ele os persegue e avança em segurança, por um caminho em que ele nunca havia passado.
4 Who hath wrought and done it? he that calleth the generations from the beginning. I the Lord am the first, and with the last I am ye same.
4 Quem fez e executou tudo isso? Aquele que desde o princípio tem chamado as gerações à existência, eu, o e aquele que estará com os últimos; eu mesmo.”
5 The yles sawe it, and did feare, and the ends of the earth were abashed, drew neere, and came.
5 Os países do mar viram isto e temeram; os confins da terra tremeram; eles se aproximaram e vieram.
6 Euery man helped his neighbour, and saide to his brother, Be strong.
6 Um ajuda o outro e diz a seu próximo: “Seja forte.”
7 So the workeman comforted the founder, and he that smote with ye hammer, him that smote by course, saying, It is ready for the sodering, and he fastened it with nayles that it shoulde not be mooued.
7 O artífice anima o ourives, e o que trabalha com o martelo encoraja o que bate na bigorna, dizendo que a soldagem foi bem-feita. Então fixam tudo com pregos para que não oscile.
8 But thou, Israel, art my seruant, and thou Iaakob, whom I haue chosen, the seede of Abraham my friend.
8 “Mas você, Israel, meu servo; você, Jacó, a quem escolhi; você, descendente de Abraão, meu amigo;
9 For I haue taken thee from the endes of the earth, and called thee before the chiefe thereof, and saide vnto thee, Thou art my seruant: I haue chosen thee, and not cast thee away.
9 você, a quem eu trouxe dos confins da terra e chamei dos seus cantos mais remotos, e a quem eu disse: ‘Você é o meu servo, eu o escolhi e não o rejeitei’;
10 Feare thou not, for I am with thee: be not afraide, for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee, and helpe thee, and will susteine thee with the right hand of my iustice.
10 não tema, porque eu estou com você; não fique com medo, porque eu sou o seu Deus. Eu lhe dou forças; sim, eu o ajudo; sim, eu o seguro com a mão direita da minha justiça.”
11 Beholde, all they that prouoke thee, shalbe ashamed, and confounded: they shalbe as nothing, and they that striue with thee, shall perish.
11 “Eis que serão envergonhados e humilhados todos os que se enfurecem contra você; os que lutam contra você serão reduzidos a nada e perecerão.
12 Thou shalt seeke them and shalt not finde them: to wit, the men of thy strife, for they shall be as nothing, and the men that warre against thee, as a thing of nought.
12 Você procurará os que lutam contra você, porém não os achará; serão reduzidos a nada e a coisa de nenhum valor os que fazem guerra contra você.
13 For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying vnto thee, Feare not, I wil helpe thee.
13 Porque eu, o Senhor , seu Deus, o tomo pela mão direita e lhe digo: ‘Não tenha medo, pois eu o ajudarei.’”
14 Feare not, thou worme, Iaakob, and ye men of Israel: I wil helpe thee, sayth the Lord and thy redeemer the holy one of Israel.
14 “Não tenha medo, ó vermezinho de Jacó, povozinho de Israel, pois eu o ajudarei”, diz o “o seu Redentor é o Santo de Israel.
15 Behold, I wil make thee a roller, and a newe threshing instrument hauing teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountaines, and bring them to pouder, and shalt make the hilles as chaffe.
15 Eis que farei de você um debulhador de cereais cortante e novo, armado de lâminas duplas. Você trilhará e esmagará os montes, e reduzirá as colinas a palha.
16 Thou shalt fanne them, and the winde shall carie them away, and the whirlewinde shall scatter them: and thou shalt reioyce in the Lord, and shalt glory in the holy one of Israel.
16 Você os jogará para cima com a pá, e o vento os levará, e o redemoinho os espalhará. Então você se alegrará no e se gloriará no Santo de Israel.”
17 When the poore and the needy seeke water, and there is none (their tongue faileth for thirst: I the Lord will heare them: I the God of Israel will not forsake them)
17 “Os pobres e necessitados buscam água, mas não a encontram; a língua deles está ressequida de sede. Mas eu, o eu, o Deus de Israel, não os abandonarei.
18 I will open riuers in the toppes of the hils, and fountaines in the middes of the valleis: I will make the wildernesse as a poole of water, and the waste land as springs of water.
18 Abrirei rios no alto dos montes e fontes no meio dos vales; transformarei o deserto em lençóis de águas e a terra seca, em mananciais.
19 I will set in the wildernesse the cedar, the shittah tree, and the mirre tree, and the pine tree, and I will set in the wildernesse the firre tree, the elme and the boxe tree together.
19 Plantarei no deserto o cedro, a acácia, a murta e a oliveira; porei juntos no ermo o cipreste, o olmeiro e o buxo,
20 Therefore let them see and knowe, and let them consider and vnderstande together that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the holy one of Israel hath created it.
20 para que todos vejam e saibam, considerem e juntamente entendam que a mão do e que o Santo de Israel o criou.”
21 Stand to your cause, saith the Lord: bring forth your strong reasons, saith ye King of Iaakob.
21 “Exponham a sua causa”, diz o “apresentem as suas razões, diz o Rei de Jacó.
22 Let them bring foorth, and let them tell vs what shall come: let them shew the former things what they be, that wee may consider them, and knowe the latter ende of them: either declare vs things for to come.
22 Aproximem-se e anunciem-nos as coisas que hão de acontecer; contem-nos as profecias anteriores, para que as examinemos e saibamos se elas se cumpriram; ou falem-nos a respeito das coisas futuras.
23 Shewe the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods: yea, doe good or doe euill, that we may declare it, and beholde it together.
23 Anunciem-nos as coisas que ainda hão de vir, para que saibamos que vocês são deuses. Façam alguma coisa, seja boa ou seja má, para que fiquemos com medo, e juntamente o veremos.
24 Beholde, ye are of no value, and your making is of naught: man hath chosen an abomination by them.
24 Eis que vocês são menos do que nada, e menos do que nada é o que vocês fazem; abominável é quem os escolhe.”
25 I haue raised vp from the North, and he shall come: from the East sunne shall he cal vpon my Name, and shall come vpon princes as vpon clay, and as the potter treadeth myre vnder the foote.
25 “Do Norte suscitei um homem, e ele vem; desde o Oriente, onde nasce o sol, ele invocará o meu nome; pisará os governantes como se fossem lama, como o oleiro pisa o barro.
26 Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may knowe? or before time, that we may say, He is righteous? Surely there is none that sheweth: surely there is none that declareth: surely there is none that heareth your wordes.
26 Quem anunciou isso desde o princípio, a fim de que o possamos saber? Quem falou disso antecipadamente, para que digamos: ‘É isso mesmo’? Mas não houve quem anunciasse, quem proclamasse, nem ainda quem tivesse ouvido qualquer palavra da parte de vocês.
27 I am the first, that saieth to Zion, Beholde, beholde them: and I will giue to Ierusalem one that shall bring good tidings.
27 Eu sou o que primeiro disse a Sião: ‘Eis! Ei-los aí!’ E a Jerusalém dou um mensageiro de boas-novas.
28 But when I behelde, there was none, and when I inquired of them, there was no counsellor, and when I demaunded of them, they answered not a woorde.
28 Quando eu olho, não há ninguém; entre eles não há nenhum conselheiro a quem eu pergunte, e me responda.
29 Beholde, they are all vanitie: their worke is of nothing, their images are wind and confusion.
29 Eis que todos são nada; as suas obras são coisa nenhuma; as suas imagens de fundição são vento e vácuo.”
