1 Keep silence before mee, O ylands, and let the people renue their strength: let the come neere, and let them speake: let vs come together into iudgement.
1 Calai-vos diante de mim, ó ilhas; e renovem os povos as forças; cheguem-se, e então falem; cheguemo-nos juntos a juizo.
2 Who raised vp iustice from the East, and called him to his foote? and gaue the nations before him, and subdued the Kings? he gaue them as dust to his sword, and as scattered stubble vnto his bowe.
2 Quem suscitou do Oriente aquele cujos passos a vitória acompanha? Quem faz que as nações se lhe submetam e que ele domine sobre reis? Ele os entrega à sua espada como o pó, e ao seu arco como pragana arrebatada pelo vento.
3 He pursued them, and passed safely by the way that he had not gone with his feete.
3 Ele os persegue, e passa adiante em segurança, até por uma vereda em que com os seus pés nunca tinha trilhado.
4 Who hath wrought and done it? he that calleth the generations from the beginning. I the Lord am the first, and with the last I am ye same.
4 Quem operou e fez isto, chamando as gerações desde o princípio? Eu, o Senhor, que sou o primeiro, e que com os últimos sou o mesmo.
5 The yles sawe it, and did feare, and the ends of the earth were abashed, drew neere, and came.
5 As ilhas o viram, e temeram; os confins da terra tremeram; aproximaram-se, e vieram.
6 Euery man helped his neighbour, and saide to his brother, Be strong.
6 um ao outro ajudou, e ao seu companheiro disse: Esforça-te.
7 So the workeman comforted the founder, and he that smote with ye hammer, him that smote by course, saying, It is ready for the sodering, and he fastened it with nayles that it shoulde not be mooued.
7 Assim o artífice animou ao ourives, e o que alisa com o martelo ao que bate na bigorna, dizendo da coisa soldada: Boa é. Então com pregos a segurou, para que não viesse a mover-se.
8 But thou, Israel, art my seruant, and thou Iaakob, whom I haue chosen, the seede of Abraham my friend.
8 Mas tu, ó Israel, servo meu, tu Jacó, a quem escolhi, descendência de Abraão,
9 For I haue taken thee from the endes of the earth, and called thee before the chiefe thereof, and saide vnto thee, Thou art my seruant: I haue chosen thee, and not cast thee away.
9 tomei desde os confins da terra, e te chamei desde os seus cantos, e te disse: Tu és o meu servo, a ti te escolhi e não te rejeitei;
10 Feare thou not, for I am with thee: be not afraide, for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee, and helpe thee, and will susteine thee with the right hand of my iustice.
10 não temas, porque eu sou contigo; não te assombres, porque eu sou teu Deus; eu te fortaleço, e te ajudo, e te sustento com a destra da minha justiça.
11 Beholde, all they that prouoke thee, shalbe ashamed, and confounded: they shalbe as nothing, and they that striue with thee, shall perish.
11 Eis que envergonhados e confundidos serão todos os que se irritam contra ti; tornar-se-ão em nada; e os que contenderem contigo perecerão.
12 Thou shalt seeke them and shalt not finde them: to wit, the men of thy strife, for they shall be as nothing, and the men that warre against thee, as a thing of nought.
12 Quanto aos que pelejam contigo, buscá-los-ás, mas não os acharás; e os que guerreiam contigo tornar-se-ão em nada e perecerão.
13 For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying vnto thee, Feare not, I wil helpe thee.
13 Porque eu, o Senhor teu Deus, te seguro pela tua mão direita, e te digo: Não temas; eu te ajudarei.
14 Feare not, thou worme, Iaakob, and ye men of Israel: I wil helpe thee, sayth the Lord and thy redeemer the holy one of Israel.
14 Não temas, ó bichinho de Jacó, nem vós, povozinho de Israel; eu te ajudo, diz o Senhor, e o teu redentor é o Santo de Israel.
15 Behold, I wil make thee a roller, and a newe threshing instrument hauing teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountaines, and bring them to pouder, and shalt make the hilles as chaffe.
15 Eis que farei de ti um trilho novo, que tem dentes agudos; os montes trilharás e os moerás, e os outeiros tornarás como a pragana.
16 Thou shalt fanne them, and the winde shall carie them away, and the whirlewinde shall scatter them: and thou shalt reioyce in the Lord, and shalt glory in the holy one of Israel.
16 Tu os padejarás e o vento os levará, e o redemoinho os espalhará; e tu te alegrarás no Senhor e te gloriarás no Santo de Israel.
17 When the poore and the needy seeke water, and there is none (their tongue faileth for thirst: I the Lord will heare them: I the God of Israel will not forsake them)
17 Os pobres e necessitados buscam água, e não há, e a sua língua se seca de sede; mas eu o Senhor os ouvirei, eu o Deus de Israel não os desampararei.
18 I will open riuers in the toppes of the hils, and fountaines in the middes of the valleis: I will make the wildernesse as a poole of water, and the waste land as springs of water.
18 Abrirei rios nos altos desnudados, e fontes no meio dos vales; tornarei o deserto num lago d'água, e a terra seca em mananciais.
19 I will set in the wildernesse the cedar, the shittah tree, and the mirre tree, and the pine tree, and I will set in the wildernesse the firre tree, the elme and the boxe tree together.
19 Plantarei no deserto o cedro, a acácia, a murta, e a oliveira; e porei no ermo juntamente a faia, o olmeiro e o buxo;
20 Therefore let them see and knowe, and let them consider and vnderstande together that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the holy one of Israel hath created it.
20 para que todos vejam, e saibam, e considerem, e juntamente entendam que a mão do Senhor fez isso, e o Santo de Israel o criou.
21 Stand to your cause, saith the Lord: bring forth your strong reasons, saith ye King of Iaakob.
21 Apresentai a vossa demanda, diz o Senhor; trazei as vossas firmes razões, diz o Rei de Jacó.
22 Let them bring foorth, and let them tell vs what shall come: let them shew the former things what they be, that wee may consider them, and knowe the latter ende of them: either declare vs things for to come.
22 Tragam-nas, e assim nos anunciem o que há de acontecer; anunciai-nos as coisas passadas, quais são, para que as consideremos, e saibamos o fim delas; ou mostrai-nos coisas vindouras.
23 Shewe the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods: yea, doe good or doe euill, that we may declare it, and beholde it together.
23 Anunciai-nos as coisas que ainda hão de vir, para que saibamos que sois deuses; fazei bem, ou fazei mal, para que nos assombremos, e fiquemos atemorizados.
24 Beholde, ye are of no value, and your making is of naught: man hath chosen an abomination by them.
24 Eis que vindes do nada, e a vossa obra do que nada é; abominação é quem vos escolhe.
25 I haue raised vp from the North, and he shall come: from the East sunne shall he cal vpon my Name, and shall come vpon princes as vpon clay, and as the potter treadeth myre vnder the foote.
25 Do norte suscitei a um que já é chegado; do nascente do sol a um que invoca o meu nome; e virá sobre os magistrados como sobre o lodo, e como o oleiro pisa o barro.
26 Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may knowe? or before time, that we may say, He is righteous? Surely there is none that sheweth: surely there is none that declareth: surely there is none that heareth your wordes.
26 Quem anunciou isso desde o princípio, para que o possamos saber? ou dantes, para que digamos: Ele é justo? Mas não há quem anuncie, nem tampouco quem manifeste, nem tampouco quem ouça as vossas palavras.
27 I am the first, that saieth to Zion, Beholde, beholde them: and I will giue to Ierusalem one that shall bring good tidings.
27 Eu sou o que primeiro direi a Sião: Ei-los, ei-los; e a Jerusalém darei um mensageiro que traz boas-novas.
28 But when I behelde, there was none, and when I inquired of them, there was no counsellor, and when I demaunded of them, they answered not a woorde.
28 E quando eu olho, não há ninguém; nem mesmo entre eles há conselheiro que possa responder palavra, quando eu lhes perguntar.
29 Beholde, they are all vanitie: their worke is of nothing, their images are wind and confusion.
29 Eis que todos são vaidade. As suas obras não são coisa alguma; as suas imagens de fundição são vento e coisa vã.
