1 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, will your God say.
1 O Senhor , nosso Deus, diz: “Consolem, consolem o meu povo.
2 Speake comfortably to Ierusalem, and crye vnto her, that her warrefare is accomplished, that her iniquitie is pardoned: for she hath receiued of the Lords hand double for all her sinnes.
2 Falem carinhosamente aos moradores de Jerusalém e digam-lhes que já terminou a sua escravidão e que os seus pecados foram perdoados. Eles receberam de mim duas vezes mais castigos do que os pecados que cometeram.”
3 A voyce cryeth in the wildernesse, Prepare ye the way of the Lord: make streight in the desert a path for our God.
3 Alguém está gritando: “Preparem no deserto um caminho para o abram ali uma estrada reta para o nosso Deus passar!
4 Euery valley shall be exalted, and euery mountaine and hill shall be made lowe: and the crooked shalbe streight, and the rough places plaine.
4 Todos os vales serão aterrados, e todos os morros e montes serão aplanados; os terrenos cheios de altos e baixos ficarão planos, e as regiões montanhosas virarão planícies.
5 And the glory of the Lord shalbe reueiled, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
5 Então o Senhor mostrará a sua glória , e toda a humanidade a verá. O próprio
6 A voyce saide, Crie. And he saide, What shall I crie? All flesh is grasse, and all the grace thereof is as the floure of the fielde.
6 Alguém diz: “Anuncie a mensagem!” “O que devo anunciar?” — eu pergunto. “Anuncie que todos os seres humanos são como a erva do campo e toda a força deles é como uma flor do mato.
7 The grasse withereth, the floure fadeth, because the Spirite of the Lord bloweth vpon it: surely the people is grasse.
7 A erva seca, e as flores caem quando o sopro do De fato, o povo é como a erva.
8 The grasse withereth, the floure fadeth: but the worde of our God shall stand for euer.
8 A erva seca, a flor cai, mas a palavra do nosso Deus dura para sempre.”
9 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee vp into the hie mountaine: O Ierusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift vp thy voyce with strength: lift it vp, be not afraide: say vnto the cities of Iudah, Beholde your God.
9 Você, mensageiro de boas notícias para Jerusalém, suba um alto monte; você, mensageiro de boas notícias para entregue a sua mensagem em voz alta. Fale sem medo com as cidades de Judá e anuncie bem alto: “O seu Deus está chegando!”
10 Beholde, the Lord God will come with power, and his arme shall rule for him: beholde, his rewarde is with him, and his worke before him,
10 O Senhor Deus vem vindo cheio de força; com o seu braço poderoso, ele conseguiu a vitória. E ele traz consigo o povo que ele salvou.
11 He shall feede his flocke like a shepheard: he shall gather the lambes with his arme, and cary them in his bosome, and shall guide them with young.
11 Como um pastor cuida do seu rebanho, assim o ele juntará os carneirinhos, e os carregará no colo, e guiará com carinho as ovelhas que estão amamentando.
12 Who hath measured the waters in his fist? and counted heauen with the spanne, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure? and weighed ye mountaines in a weight, and the hilles in a balance?
12 Quem mediu a água do mar com as conchas das mãos ou mediu o céu com os dedos? Quem, usando uma vasilha, calculou quanta terra existe no mundo inteiro ou pesou as montanhas e os morros numa balança?
13 Who hath instructed ye Spirit of the Lord? or was his counseler or taught him?
13 Quem pode conhecer a mente do Senhor ? Quem é capaz de lhe dar conselhos?
14 Of whom tooke he counsell, and who instructed him and taught him in the way of iudgement? or taught him knowledge, and shewed vnto him the way of vnderstanding?
14 Quem lhe deu lições ou ensinamentos? Quem lhe ensinou a julgar com justiça ou quis fazê-lo aprender mais coisas ou procurou lhe mostrar como ser sábio?
15 Beholde, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the dust of the balance: beholde, he taketh away the yles as a litle dust.
15 Para o Senhor , todas as nações do mundo são como uma gota de água num balde, como um grão de poeira na balança; ele carrega as ilhas distantes como se fossem um grão de areia.
16 And Lebanon is not sufficient for fire, nor the beastes thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
16 Em toda a região do Líbano, não há animais suficientes para um nem árvores que cheguem para os queimar.
17 All nations before him are as nothing, and they are counted to him, lesse then nothing, and vanitie.
17 Para ele, as nações não são nada; na presença dele, elas não têm nenhum valor.
18 To whom then wil ye liken God? or what similitude will ye set vp vnto him?
18 Com quem Deus pode ser comparado? Com o que ele se parece?
19 The workeman melteth an image, or the goldsmith beateth it out in golde, or the goldesmith maketh siluer plates.
19 Ele não é como uma imagem feita por um artista, que um ourives reveste de ouro e cobre de enfeites de prata.
20 Doeth not the poore chuse out a tree that will not rot, for an oblation? he seeketh also vnto him a cunning workeman, to prepare an image, that shall not be moued.
20 Quem não pode comprar ouro ou prata escolhe madeira de lei e procura um artista competente que faça uma imagem que fique firme no seu lugar.
21 Know ye nothing? haue ye not heard it? hath it not bene tolde you from the beginning? haue ye not vnderstand it by the foundation of the earth?
21 Será que vocês não sabem? Será que nunca ouviram falar disso? Não lhes contaram há muito tempo como o mundo foi criado?
22 He sitteth vpon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grashoppers, hee stretcheth out ye heauens, as a curtaine, and spreadeth them out, as a tent to dwell in.
22 O Criador de todas as coisas é aquele que se assenta no seu trono no céu; ele está tão longe da terra, que os seres humanos lhe parecem tão pequenos como formigas. Foi ele quem estendeu os céus como um véu, quem os armou como uma barraca para neles morar.
23 He bringeth the princes to nothing, and maketh the iudges of the earth, as vanitie,
23 É ele quem rebaixa reis poderosos e tira altas autoridades do poder.
24 As though they were not plated, as though they were not sowen, as though their stocke tooke no roote in the earth: for he did euen blow vpon them, and they withered, and the whirlewinde will take them away as stubble.
24 Eles são como plantas que brotaram há pouco e quase não têm raízes. Quando Deus sopra neles, eles murcham, e a ventania os leva para longe, como se fossem palha.
25 To whom nowe will ye liken me, that I should be like him, saith the Holy one?
25 Com quem vocês vão comparar o Santo Deus? Quem é igual a ele?
26 Lift vp your eyes on hie, and beholde who hath created these things, and bringeth out their armies by nomber, and calleth them all by names? by the greatnesse of his power and mightie strength nothing faileth.
26 Olhem para o céu e vejam as estrelas. Quem foi que as criou? Foi aquele que as faz sair em ordem como um exército; ele sabe quantas são e chama cada uma pelo seu nome. A sua força e o seu poder são tão grandes, que nenhuma delas deixa de responder.
27 Why sayest thou, O Iaakob, and speakest O Israel, My way is hid from the Lord, and my iudgement is passed ouer of my God?
27 Povo de Israel, por que você se queixa, dizendo: “O o nosso Deus não se interessa pela nossa situação”?
28 Knowest thou not? or hast thou not heard, that the euerlasting God, the Lord hath created the endes of the earth? he neither fainteth, nor is wearie: there is no searching of his vnderstanding.
28 Será que vocês não sabem? Será que nunca ouviram falar disso? O ele criou o mundo inteiro. Ele não se cansa, não fica fatigado; ninguém pode medir a sua sabedoria.
29 But he giueth strength vnto him that fainteth, and vnto him that hath no strength, he encreaseth power.
29 Aos cansados ele dá novas forças e enche de energia os fracos.
30 Euen the yong men shall faint, and be wearie, and the yong men shall stumble and fall.
30 Até os jovens se cansam, e os moços tropeçam e caem;
31 But they that waite vpon the Lord, shall renue their strength: they shall lift vp the wings as the eagles: they shall runne, and not be wearie, and they shall walke and not faint.
31 mas os que confiam no Senhor recebem sempre novas forças. Voam nas alturas como águias, correm e não perdem as forças, andam e não se cansam.
