1 A vision of Isaiah, the sonne of Amoz, which he sawe concerning Iudah and Ierusalem: in the dayes of Vzziah, Iotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah Kings of Iudah.
1 São estas as mensagens a respeito de Judá e de Jerusalém que o Senhor Deus deu a Isaías, filho de Amoz, durante os reinados de Uzias, Jotão, Acaz e Ezequias em Judá.
2 Heare, O heauens, and hearken, O earth: for the Lord hath sayde, I haue nourished and brought vp children, but they haue rebelled against me.
2 Escutem, ó céus, preste atenção, ó terra, pois o Ele disse: “Criei filhos e cuidei deles, mas eles se revoltaram contra mim.
3 The oxe knoweth his owner, and the asse his masters crib: but Israel hath not knowen: my people hath not vnderstand.
3 O boi conhece o seu dono, e o jumento sabe onde o dono põe o alimento para ele, mas o meu povo não sabe nada, o povo de Israel não entende coisa nenhuma.”
4 Ah, sinfull nation, a people laden with iniquitie: a seede of the wicked, corrupt children: they haue forsaken the Lord: they haue prouoked the holy one of Israel to anger: they are gone backewarde.
4 Ai desse povo mau, dessa gente cheia de pecados! Todos são ruins, todos são perversos. Eles abandonaram o rejeitaram o Santo Deus de Israel e viraram as costas para ele.
5 Wherefore shoulde ye be smitten any more? for ye fall away more and more: the whole head is sicke, and the whole heart is heauie.
5 Por que vocês continuam a pecar? Será que querem receber mais castigos? A sua cabeça está ferida, e todos estão desanimados.
6 From the sole of the foote vnto the head, there is nothing whole therein, but wounds, and swelling, and sores full of corruption: they haue not bene wrapped, nor bound vp, nor mollified with oyle.
6 Da cabeça até os pés, o corpo de vocês está machucado, cheio de ferimentos e de chagas abertas, que não foram lavadas, nem enfaixadas, nem limpadas com azeite.
7 Your land is waste: your cities are burnt with fire: strangers deuoure your lande in your presence, and it is desolate like the ouerthrowe of strangers.
7 A terra de vocês está arrasada, as cidades foram destruídas pelo fogo. Na presença de vocês, os estrangeiros arrasaram a sua terra, e ela ficou em ruínas. Os estrangeiros acabaram com ela.
8 And the daughter of Zion shall remaine like a cotage in a vineyarde, like a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, and like a besieged citie.
8 Só ficou Jerusalém, como se fosse uma barraca de vigia numa plantação de uvas, como uma cabana numa plantação de pepinos ou como uma cidade cercada pelos inimigos.
9 Except the Lord of hostes had reserued vnto vs, euen a small remnant: we should haue bene as Sodom, and should haue bene like vnto Gomorah.
9 Se o Senhor Todo-Poderoso não tivesse deixado que alguns de nós vivêssemos, seríamos agora como a cidade de Sodoma, estaríamos destruídos como Gomorra.
10 Heare the worde of the Lord, O princes of Sodom: hearken vnto the Law of our God, O people of Gomorah.
10 Autoridades de Jerusalém, escutem o que o Moradores da cidade , deem atenção ao ensinamento do nosso Deus!
11 What haue I to doe with the multitude of your sacrifices, sayth the Lord? I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and of the fat of fed beasts: and I desire not the blood of bullocks, nor of lambs, nor of goates.
11 O Senhor diz: “Eu não quero todos esses que vocês me oferecem. Estou farto de bodes e de animais gordos queimados no altar; estou enjoado do sangue de touros novos, não quero mais carneiros nem cabritos.
12 When ye come to appeare before me, who required this of your hands to tread in my courts?
12 Quando vocês vêm até a minha presença, quem foi que pediu todo esse corre-corre nos pátios do meu Templo?
13 Bring no more oblations, in vaine: incense is an abomination vnto me: I can not suffer your newe moones, nor Sabbaths, nor solemne dayes (it is iniquitie) nor solemne assemblies.
13 Não adianta nada me trazerem ofertas; eu odeio o incenso que vocês queimam. Não suporto as os sábados e as outras festas religiosas, pois os pecados de vocês estragam tudo isso.
14 My soule hateth your newe moones and your appointed feastes: they are a burden vnto me: I am weary to beare them.
14 As Festas da Lua Nova e os outros dias santos me enchem de nojo; já estou cansado de suportá-los.
15 And when you shall stretch out your hands, I wil hide mine eyes from you: and though ye make many prayers, I wil not heare: for your hands are full of blood.
15 “Quando vocês levantarem as mãos para orar, eu não olharei para vocês. Ainda que orem muito, eu não os ouvirei, pois os crimes mancharam as mãos de vocês.
16 Wash you, make you cleane: take away the euill of your workes from before mine eyes: cease to doe euill.
16 Lavem-se e purifiquem-se ! Não quero mais ver as suas maldades! Parem de fazer o que é mau
17 Learne to doe well: seeke iudgement, relieue the oppressed: iudge the fatherlesse and defend the widowe.
17 e aprendam a fazer o que é bom. Tratem os outros com justiça; socorram os que são explorados, defendam os direitos dos órfãos e protejam as viúvas.”
18 Come nowe, and let vs reason together, sayth the Lord: though your sinnes were as crimsin, they shalbe made white as snowe: though they were red like skarlet, they shalbe as wooll.
18 O Senhor Deus diz: “Venham cá, vamos discutir este assunto. Os seus pecados os deixaram manchados de vermelho, manchados de vermelho escuro; mas eu os lavarei, e vocês ficarão brancos como a neve, brancos como a lã.
19 If ye consent and obey, ye shall eate the good things of the land.
19 Se forem humildes e me obedecerem, vocês comerão das coisas boas que a terra produz.
20 But if ye refuse and be rebellious, ye shalbe deuoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
20 Mas, se forem rebeldes e desobedientes, serão mortos na guerra. Eu, o
21 Howe is the faithfull citie become an harlot? it was full of iudgement, and iustice lodged therein, but now they are murtherers.
21 A cidade de Jerusalém era fiel a Deus, mas agora está agindo como prostituta. Estava cheia de gente boa e honesta, mas agora só ficaram assassinos.
22 Thy siluer is become drosse: thy wine is mixt with water.
22 Jerusalém, você era como prata pura, porém agora não vale nada; era como o melhor vinho, porém agora é como vinho misturado com água.
23 Thy Princes are rebellious and companions of theeues: euery one loueth giftes, and followeth after rewards: they iudge not the fatherlesse, neither doeth the widowes cause come before them.
23 As suas autoridades são pessoas revoltadas e têm amizade com ladrões. Estão sempre aceitando dinheiro e presentes para torcer a justiça. Não defendem os direitos dos órfãos e não se preocupam com as causas das viúvas.
24 Therefore sayth the Lord God of hostes, the mightie one of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine aduersaries, and auenge me of mine enemies.
24 Portanto, escutem o que diz o Senhor , o Deus Todo-Poderoso, o forte Deus de Israel! Ele diz ao seu povo: “Eu me vingarei de vocês, meus inimigos; vou acertar as contas com vocês, meus adversários.
25 Then I will turne mine hand vpon thee, and burne out thy drosse, till it be pure, and take away all thy tinne.
25 Na minha ira , vou castigá-los para que fiquem completamente puros, assim como o metal é purificado pelo fogo.
26 And I will restore thy iudges as at the first, and thy counsellers as at the beginning: afterward shalt thou be called a citie of righteousnes, and a faithfull citie.
26 Eu lhes darei autoridades e juízes como os que vocês tinham no passado. Então Jerusalém será chamada de ‘Cidade da Justiça’ e ‘Cidade Fiel’.”
27 Zion shall be redeemed in iudgement, and they that returne in her, in iustice.
27 O Deus justo salvará Sião , salvará todos os seus moradores que se arrependerem.
28 And the destruction of the transgressers and of the sinners shalbe together: and they that forsake the Lord, shalbe consumed.
28 Mas acabará com todos os rebeldes e pecadores, com todos os que abandonam o
29 For they shalbe confounded for the okes, which ye haue desired, and ye shall be ashamed of the gardens, that ye haue chosen.
29 Vocês vão ficar com vergonha das árvores sagradas de que vocês tanto gostavam; vão ficar desiludidos com os jardins sagrados que lhes davam tanto prazer.
30 For ye shalbe as an oke, whose leafe fadeth: and as a garden that hath no water.
30 Vocês se tornarão como árvores de folhas murchas, como um jardim que ninguém rega.
31 And the strong shall be as towe, and the maker thereof, as a sparke: and they shall both burne together, and none shall quench them.
31 Os poderosos serão como a palha, e as suas ações, como uma faísca: eles serão destruídos pelo fogo, e não haverá quem possa salvá-los.
