1 A vision of Isaiah, the sonne of Amoz, which he sawe concerning Iudah and Ierusalem: in the dayes of Vzziah, Iotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah Kings of Iudah.
1 Visão de Isaías, filho de Amoz, que ele teve a respeito de Judá e Jerusalém, nos dias de Uzias, Jotão, Acaz e Ezequias, reis de Judá.
2 Heare, O heauens, and hearken, O earth: for the Lord hath sayde, I haue nourished and brought vp children, but they haue rebelled against me.
2 Ouvi, ó céus, e dá ouvidos, ó terra, porque o Senhor é quem fala: Criei filhos e os engrandeci, mas eles estão revoltados contra mim.
3 The oxe knoweth his owner, and the asse his masters crib: but Israel hath not knowen: my people hath not vnderstand.
3 O boi conhece o seu possuidor, e o jumento, o dono da sua manjedoura; mas Israel não tem conhecimento, o meu povo não entende.
4 Ah, sinfull nation, a people laden with iniquitie: a seede of the wicked, corrupt children: they haue forsaken the Lord: they haue prouoked the holy one of Israel to anger: they are gone backewarde.
4 Ai desta nação pecaminosa, povo carregado de iniquidade, raça de malignos, filhos corruptores; abandonaram o Senhor , blasfemaram do Santo de Israel, voltaram para trás.
5 Wherefore shoulde ye be smitten any more? for ye fall away more and more: the whole head is sicke, and the whole heart is heauie.
5 Por que haveis de ainda ser feridos, visto que continuais em rebeldia? Toda a cabeça está doente, e todo o coração, enfermo.
6 From the sole of the foote vnto the head, there is nothing whole therein, but wounds, and swelling, and sores full of corruption: they haue not bene wrapped, nor bound vp, nor mollified with oyle.
6 Desde a planta do pé até à cabeça não há nele coisa sã, senão feridas, contusões e chagas inflamadas, umas e outras não espremidas, nem atadas, nem amolecidas com óleo.
7 Your land is waste: your cities are burnt with fire: strangers deuoure your lande in your presence, and it is desolate like the ouerthrowe of strangers.
7 A vossa terra está assolada, as vossas cidades, consumidas pelo fogo; a vossa lavoura os estranhos devoram em vossa presença; e a terra se acha devastada como numa subversão de estranhos.
8 And the daughter of Zion shall remaine like a cotage in a vineyarde, like a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, and like a besieged citie.
8 A filha de Sião é deixada como choça na vinha, como palhoça no pepinal, como cidade sitiada.
9 Except the Lord of hostes had reserued vnto vs, euen a small remnant: we should haue bene as Sodom, and should haue bene like vnto Gomorah.
9 Se o Senhor dos Exércitos não nos tivesse deixado alguns sobreviventes, já nos teríamos tornado como Sodoma e semelhantes a Gomorra.
10 Heare the worde of the Lord, O princes of Sodom: hearken vnto the Law of our God, O people of Gomorah.
10 Ouvi a palavra do Senhor , vós, príncipes de Sodoma; prestai ouvidos à lei do nosso Deus, vós, povo de Gomorra.
11 What haue I to doe with the multitude of your sacrifices, sayth the Lord? I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and of the fat of fed beasts: and I desire not the blood of bullocks, nor of lambs, nor of goates.
11 De que me serve a mim a multidão de vossos sacrifícios? — diz o Senhor . Estou farto dos holocaustos de carneiros e da gordura de animais cevados e não me agrado do sangue de novilhos, nem de cordeiros, nem de bodes.
12 When ye come to appeare before me, who required this of your hands to tread in my courts?
12 Quando vindes para comparecer perante mim, quem vos requereu o só pisardes os meus átrios?
13 Bring no more oblations, in vaine: incense is an abomination vnto me: I can not suffer your newe moones, nor Sabbaths, nor solemne dayes (it is iniquitie) nor solemne assemblies.
13 Não continueis a trazer ofertas vãs; o incenso é para mim abominação, e também as Festas da Lua Nova, os sábados, e a convocação das congregações; não posso suportar iniquidade associada ao ajuntamento solene.
14 My soule hateth your newe moones and your appointed feastes: they are a burden vnto me: I am weary to beare them.
14 As vossas Festas da Lua Nova e as vossas solenidades, a minha alma as aborrece; já me são pesadas; estou cansado de as sofrer.
15 And when you shall stretch out your hands, I wil hide mine eyes from you: and though ye make many prayers, I wil not heare: for your hands are full of blood.
15 Pelo que, quando estendeis as mãos, escondo de vós os olhos; sim, quando multiplicais as vossas orações, não as ouço, porque as vossas mãos estão cheias de sangue.
16 Wash you, make you cleane: take away the euill of your workes from before mine eyes: cease to doe euill.
16 Lavai-vos, purificai-vos, tirai a maldade de vossos atos de diante dos meus olhos; cessai de fazer o mal.
17 Learne to doe well: seeke iudgement, relieue the oppressed: iudge the fatherlesse and defend the widowe.
17 Aprendei a fazer o bem; atendei à justiça, repreendei ao opressor; defendei o direito do órfão, pleiteai a causa das viúvas.
18 Come nowe, and let vs reason together, sayth the Lord: though your sinnes were as crimsin, they shalbe made white as snowe: though they were red like skarlet, they shalbe as wooll.
18 Vinde, pois, e arrazoemos, diz o Senhor ; ainda que os vossos pecados sejam como a escarlata, eles se tornarão brancos como a neve; ainda que sejam vermelhos como o carmesim, se tornarão como a lã.
19 If ye consent and obey, ye shall eate the good things of the land.
19 Se quiserdes e me ouvirdes, comereis o melhor desta terra.
20 But if ye refuse and be rebellious, ye shalbe deuoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
20 Mas, se recusardes e fordes rebeldes, sereis devorados à espada; porque a boca do Senhor o disse.
21 Howe is the faithfull citie become an harlot? it was full of iudgement, and iustice lodged therein, but now they are murtherers.
21 Como se fez prostituta a cidade fiel! Ela, que estava cheia de justiça! Nela, habitava a retidão, mas, agora, homicidas.
22 Thy siluer is become drosse: thy wine is mixt with water.
22 A tua prata se tornou em escórias, o teu licor se misturou com água.
23 Thy Princes are rebellious and companions of theeues: euery one loueth giftes, and followeth after rewards: they iudge not the fatherlesse, neither doeth the widowes cause come before them.
23 Os teus príncipes são rebeldes e companheiros de ladrões; cada um deles ama o suborno e corre atrás de recompensas. Não defendem o direito do órfão, e não chega perante eles a causa das viúvas.
24 Therefore sayth the Lord God of hostes, the mightie one of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine aduersaries, and auenge me of mine enemies.
24 Portanto, diz o Senhor, o Senhor dos Exércitos, o Poderoso de Israel: Ah! Tomarei satisfações aos meus adversários e vingar-me-ei dos meus inimigos.
25 Then I will turne mine hand vpon thee, and burne out thy drosse, till it be pure, and take away all thy tinne.
25 Voltarei contra ti a minha mão, purificar-te-ei como com potassa das tuas escórias e tirarei de ti todo metal impuro.
26 And I will restore thy iudges as at the first, and thy counsellers as at the beginning: afterward shalt thou be called a citie of righteousnes, and a faithfull citie.
26 Restituir-te-ei os teus juízes, como eram antigamente, os teus conselheiros, como no princípio; depois, te chamarão cidade de justiça, cidade fiel.
27 Zion shall be redeemed in iudgement, and they that returne in her, in iustice.
27 Sião será redimida pelo direito, e os que se arrependem, pela justiça.
28 And the destruction of the transgressers and of the sinners shalbe together: and they that forsake the Lord, shalbe consumed.
28 Mas os transgressores e os pecadores serão juntamente destruídos; e os que deixarem o Senhor perecerão.
29 For they shalbe confounded for the okes, which ye haue desired, and ye shall be ashamed of the gardens, that ye haue chosen.
29 Porque vos envergonhareis dos carvalhos que cobiçastes e sereis confundidos por causa dos jardins que escolhestes.
30 For ye shalbe as an oke, whose leafe fadeth: and as a garden that hath no water.
30 Porque sereis como o carvalho, cujas folhas murcham, e como a floresta que não tem água.
31 And the strong shall be as towe, and the maker thereof, as a sparke: and they shall both burne together, and none shall quench them.
31 O forte se tornará em estopa, e a sua obra, em faísca; ambos arderão juntamente, e não haverá quem os apague.
