1 Send yee a lambe to the ruler of the worlde from the rocke of the wildernesse, vnto the mountaine of the daughter Zion.
1 Da cidade de Sela, no deserto, os moabitas enviam carneirinhos como presente para aquele que governa no monte Sião .
2 For it shall be as a birde that flieth, and a nest forsaken: the daughters of Moab shall be at the foordes of Arnon.
2 Como passarinhos que foram espantados dos seus ninhos, assim os moabitas andam de um lado para o outro nas margens do rio Arnom.
3 Gather a cousel, execute iudgement: make thy shadowe as the night in the midday: hide them that are chased out: bewray not him that is fled.
3 Eles dizem ao povo de Judá: “Digam o que devemos fazer; venham nos ajudar e nos defender. Sejam para nós como uma árvore que ao meio-dia espalha a sua sombra, que é escura como a noite.
4 Let my banished dwell with thee: Moab be thou their couert from the face of the destroyer: for the extortioner shall ende: the destroyer shalbe consumed, and the oppressour shall cease out of the land.
4 Estamos fugindo de Moabe; venham nos proteger daqueles que nos querem matar e deixem que nós moremos na terra de vocês.” Quando terminar a perseguição, e o perseguidor cruel tiver saído do país,
5 And in mercy shall the throne be prepared, and hee shall sit vpon it in stedfastnesse, in the tabernacle of Dauid, iudging, and seeking iudgement, and hasting iustice.
5 então um descendente de Davi será rei. Ele governará com fidelidade, procurará julgar com justiça e se esforçará para fazer o que é direito.
6 We haue heard of the pride of Moab, (he is very proud) euen his pride, and his arrogancie, and his indignation, but his lies shall not be so.
6 O povo de Judá diz: “Ouvimos falar do orgulho dos moabitas; sabemos que eles são um povo vaidoso e cheio de si, arrogante e convencido. Mas eles não têm nada de que se orgulhar.”
7 Therefore shall Moab howle vnto Moab: euery one shall howle: for the foundations of Kirhareseth shall ye mourne, yet they shalbe striken.
7 Por isso, os moabitas vão chorar; todos eles vão gritar de tristeza quando lembrarem dos bolos de passas que costumavam oferecer aos ídolos na cidade de Quir-Heres.
8 For ye vineyards of Heshbon are cut downe, and the vine of Sibmah: the lordes of the heathen haue broken the principal vines thereof: they are come vnto Iaazer: they wandred in the wildernesse: her goodly branches stretched out them selues, and went ouer the sea.
8 Agora estão abandonadas as plantações de uvas de Hesbom e de Sibma, aquelas plantações cujo vinho deixava bêbados os chefes de muitas nações. Elas se estendiam até a cidade de Jazer; iam para o leste até o deserto e para o oeste até o outro lado do mar Morto.
9 Therefore will I weepe with the weeping of Iaazer, and of the vine of Sibmah, O Heshbon: and Elealeh, I will make thee drunke with my teares, because vpon thy sommer fruits, and vpon thy haruest a showting is fallen.
9 Por isso, eu choro pela cidade de Jazer e também pelas Com as minhas lágrimas, rego as cidades de Hesbom e de Eleal, pois não se ouvem mais os gritos de alegria dos que ali fazem as suas colheitas.
10 And gladnes is taken away, and ioy out of the plentifull fielde: and in the vineyardes shall be no singing nor shouting for ioy: the treader shall not tread wine in the wine presses: I haue caused the reioycing to cease.
10 Desapareceram das terras boas toda alegria e felicidade; não há mais canções alegres nas plantações de uvas. Ninguém pisa as uvas para fazer vinho; Deus acabou com os gritos de alegria.
11 Wherefore, my bowels shall sounde like an harpe for Moab, and mine inwarde partes for Ker-haresh.
11 Como as cordas de uma lira , o meu coração treme de tristeza pelo povo de Moabe e pelos moradores de Quir-Heres.
12 And when it shall appeare that Moab shall be wearie of his hie places, then shall hee come to his temple to praie, but he shall not preuaile.
12 Os moabitas se cansarão de tanto ir aos seus lugares de adoração nos montes para orar aos seus deuses, mas isso não adiantará nada.
13 This is the word that the Lord hath spoken against Moab since that time.
13 Esta foi a mensagem que o Senhor anunciou há muito tempo a respeito de Moabe.
14 And nowe the Lord hath spoken, saying, In three yeres, as the yeeres of a hireling, and the glorie of Moab shall be contemned in all the great multitude, and the remnant shalbe very small and feeble.
14 Mas agora o Senhor diz: — Daqui a exatamente três anos, Moabe, com a sua enorme população, perderá todo o seu poder. E os moabitas que ficarem vivos serão poucos e fracos.
