1 Then Ioseph fell vpon his fathers face and wept vpon him, and kissed him.
1 Então José se lançou sobre o rosto de seu pai, chorou sobre ele e o beijou.
2 And Ioseph commanded his seruantes the physicions, to enbaume his father, and the physicions enbaumed Israel.
2 José ordenou a seus servos, aos que eram médicos, que embalsamassem o corpo de seu pai. E os médicos embalsamaram Israel,
3 So fourtie dayes were accomplished (for so long did the dayes of them that were enbaumed last) and the Egyptians bewayled him seuentie dayes.
3 gastando nisso quarenta dias, pois assim se cumprem os dias do embalsamamento; e os egípcios ficaram de luto setenta dias.
4 And when the dayes of his mourning were past, Ioseph spake to the house of Pharaoh, saying, If I haue nowe found fauour in your eyes, speake, I pray you, in the eares of Pharaoh, and say,
4 Passados os dias de luto, José falou à casa de Faraó: — Se agora encontrei favor diante de vocês, peço que falem aos ouvidos de Faraó, dizendo:
5 My father made me sweare, saying, Loe, I die, bury me in my graue, which I haue made me in the land of Canaan: now therefore let me go, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I wil come againe.
5 “Meu pai me fez jurar, declarando: ‘Eis que estou morrendo; sepulte-me no túmulo que abri para mim na terra de Canaã.’ Agora, quero ir e sepultar meu pai; depois voltarei.”
6 Then Pharaoh said, Goe vp and bury thy father, as he made thee to sweare.
6 Faraó respondeu: — Vá e sepulte o seu pai como ele fez você jurar.
7 So Ioseph went vp to bury his father, and with him went all the seruants of Pharaoh, both the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt.
7 José partiu para sepultar o seu pai. Com ele foram todos os oficiais de Faraó, os principais da sua casa e todos os principais da terra do Egito,
8 Likewise all the house of Ioseph, and his brethren, and his fathers house: onely their children, and their sheepe, and their cattell left they in the land of Goshen.
8 bem como toda a casa de José, e seus irmãos, e a casa de seu pai. Deixaram na terra de Gósen somente as crianças, os rebanhos e o gado.
9 And there went vp with him both charets and horsemen: and they were an exceeding great company.
9 E foram também com ele tanto carruagens como cavaleiros; e o cortejo foi muito grande.
10 And they came to Goren Atad, which is beyond Iorden, and there they made a great and exceeding sore lamentation: and he mourned for his father seuen dayes.
10 Quando eles chegaram à eira de Atade, que fica do outro lado do Jordão, fizeram ali grande e intensa lamentação; e José pranteou seu pai durante sete dias.
11 And when the Canaanites the inhabitants of the lande sawe the mourning in Goren Atad, they sayde, This is a great mourning vnto the Egyptians: wherefore the name thereof was called Abel Mizraim, which is beyond Iorden.
11 Quando os moradores da terra, os cananeus, viram o luto na eira de Atade, disseram: — Como é grande este pranto dos egípcios! E por isso aquele lugar foi chamado de Abel-Mizraim; fica do outro lado do Jordão.
12 So his sonnes did vnto him, according as he had commanded them:
12 Os filhos de Jacó fizeram como ele lhes havia ordenado:
13 For his sonnes caried him into the lande of Canaan, and buried him in the caue of the fielde of Machpelah, which caue Abraham bought with the fielde, to be a place to bury in, of Ephron the Hittite besides Mamre.
13 levaram-no para a terra de Canaã e o sepultaram na caverna do campo de Macpela, que, juntamente com o campo, Abraão havia comprado de Efrom, o heteu, para ser lugar de sepultura. Esse lugar fica em frente a Manre.
14 Then Ioseph returned into Egypt, he and his brethren, and al that went vp with him to bury his father, after that he had buried his father.
14 Depois disso, José voltou para o Egito, ele, os seus irmãos e todos os que o haviam acompanhado para sepultar o seu pai.
15 And when Iosephs brethren saw that their father was dead, they sayde, It may be that Ioseph will hate vs, and will pay vs againe all the euill, which we did vnto him.
15 Vendo os irmãos de José que seu pai já era morto, disseram: — É possível que José tenha ódio de nós; certamente nos retribuirá todo o mal que lhe fizemos.
16 Therefore they sent vnto Ioseph, saying, Thy father commanded before his death, saying,
16 Por isso, mandaram dizer a José: — O seu pai, antes de morrer, ordenou o seguinte:
17 Thus shall ye say vnto Ioseph, Forgiue now, I pray thee, the trespasse of thy brethren, and their sinne: for they rewarded thee euil. And nowe, we pray thee, forgiue the trespasse of the seruants of thy fathers God. And Ioseph wept, when they spake vnto him.
17 “É isto que vocês dirão a José: ‘Perdoe, por favor, a transgressão dos seus irmãos e o pecado que cometeram, porque eles lhe fizeram mal.’” Agora pedimos que perdoe a transgressão dos servos do Deus de seu pai. Ao ouvir estas palavras, José chorou.
18 Also his brethren came vnto him, and fell downe before his face, and sayde, Beholde, we be thy seruants.
18 Depois, vieram também os seus irmãos, prostraram-se diante dele e disseram: — Eis-nos aqui; somos seus servos.
19 To whome Ioseph sayde, Feare not: for am not I vnder God?
19 Mas José respondeu: — Não tenham medo; será que eu estou no lugar de Deus?
20 When ye thought euill against mee, God disposed it to good, that he might bring to passe, as it is this day, and saue much people aliue.
20 Vocês, na verdade, planejaram o mal contra mim; porém Deus o tornou em bem, para fazer, como estão vendo agora, que se conserve a vida de muita gente.
21 Feare not nowe therefore, I will nourish you, and your children: and hee comforted them, and spake kindly vnto them.
21 Portanto, não tenham medo; eu sustentarei vocês e os seus filhos. E assim José os consolou e lhes falou ao coração.
22 So Ioseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his fathers house: and Ioseph liued an hundreth and tenne yeere.
22 José ficou morando no Egito, ele e a casa de seu pai. Viveu cento e dez anos.
23 And Ioseph saw Ephraims children, euen vnto the third generation: also the sonnes of Machir the sonne of Manasseh were brought vp on Iosephs knees.
23 José viu os filhos de Efraim até a terceira geração; também os filhos de Maquir, filho de Manassés, os quais José tomou sobre os seus joelhos.
24 And Ioseph sayd vnto his brethren, I am ready to dye, and God will surely visite you, and bring you out of this land, vnto ye land which hee sware vnto Abraham, vnto Izhak, and vnto Iaakob.
24 José disse a seus irmãos: — Eu vou morrer em breve. Mas Deus certamente visitará vocês e fará com que saiam desta terra para ir à terra que jurou dar a Abraão, a Isaque e a Jacó.
25 And Ioseph tooke an othe of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visite you, and ye shall cary my bones hence.
25 José pediu aos filhos de Israel que fizessem um juramento, dizendo: — Deus certamente visitará vocês. Quando isso acontecer, levem os meus ossos daqui.
26 So Ioseph died, when he was an hundreth and ten yere olde: and they enbaumed him and put him in a chest in Egypt.
26 José morreu com a idade de cento e dez anos. Eles embalsamaram o seu corpo e o puseram num caixão, no Egito.
