1 Then came Ioseph and tolde Pharaoh, and sayde, My father, and my brethren, and their sheepe, and their cattell, and all that they haue, are come out of the land of Canaan, and behold, they are in the land of Goshen.
1 Então, José veio e contou a Faraó, e disse: Meu pai e meus irmãos, e seus rebanhos, e seu gado, e tudo que eles possuem vieram da terra de Canaã; e eis que eles estão na terra de Gósen.
2 And Ioseph tooke part of his brethren, euen fiue men, and presented them vnto Pharaoh.
2 E ele tomou alguns de seus irmãos, cinco homens, e os apresentou a Faraó.
3 Then Pharaoh said vnto his brethren, What is your trade? And they answered Pharaoh, Thy seruants are shepheards, both we and our fathers.
3 E Faraó disse a seus irmãos: Qual é a vossa ocupação? E eles disseram a Faraó: Teus servos são pastores, tanto nós como também nossos pais.
4 They sayde moreouer vnto Pharaoh, For to soiourne in ye lande are we come: for thy seruants haue no pasture for their sheepe, so sore is ye famine in the lande of Canaan. Nowe therefore, we pray thee, let thy seruants dwel in the land of Goshen.
4 Disseram mais a Faraó: Viemos para peregrinar nesta terra, porque teus servos não têm pastagem para seus rebanhos. Porque a fome é dolorida na terra de Canaã, por isso, suplicamos-te agora, deixa que teus servos habitem na terra de Gósen.
5 Then spake Pharaoh to Ioseph, saying, Thy father and thy brethren are come vnto thee.
5 E Faraó falou a José, dizendo: Teu pai e teus irmãos vieram a ti.
6 The lande of Egypt is before thee: in the best place of the land make thy father and thy brethren dwel: let the dwel in the land of Goshen: and if thou knowest that there be men of actiuitie among them, make them rulers ouer my cattell.
6 A terra do Egito está diante de ti; no melhor da terra faze teu pai e teus irmãos habitar; na terra de Gósen, deixa-os habitar. E se tu conheces algum homem de atividade entre eles, então faze-os responsáveis por meu gado.
7 Ioseph also brought Iaakob his father, and set him before Pharaoh. And Iaakob saluted Pharaoh.
7 E José trouxe Jacó, seu pai, e o colocou diante de Faraó, e Jacó abençoou Faraó.
8 Then Pharaoh sayde vnto Iaakob, Howe olde art thou?
8 E Faraó disse a Jacó: Quantos anos tu tens?
9 And Iaakob sayd vnto Pharaoh, The whole time of my pilgrimage is an hundreth and thirty yeeres: fewe and euill haue the dayes of my life bene, and I haue not attayned vnto the yeeres of the life of my fathers, in the dayes of their pilgrimages.
9 E Jacó disse a Faraó: Os dias da minha peregrinação são cento e trinta anos. Poucos e maus têm sido os dias dos anos da minha vida, e não alcançaram aos dias dos anos da vida de meus pais nos dias de suas peregrinações.
10 And Iaakob tooke leaue of Pharaoh, and departed from the presence of Pharaoh.
10 E Jacó abençoou Faraó, e saiu da presença de Faraó.
11 And Ioseph placed his father, and his brethren, and gaue them possession in the lande of Egypt, in the best of the land, euen in the lande of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.
11 E José estabeleceu seu pai e seus irmãos, e lhes deu posses na terra do Egito, no melhor da terra, na terra de Ramessés, como Faraó ordenara.
12 And Ioseph nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his fathers houshold with bread, euen to the yong children.
12 E José sustentou seu pai, e seus irmãos, e toda a casa de seu pai com pão, de acordo com suas famílias.
13 Now there was no bread in all the land: for the famine was exceeding sore: so that the land of Egypt, and the land of Canaan were famished by reason of the famine.
13 E não havia pão em toda a terra, porque a fome era muito dolorida, de modo que a terra do Egito e toda a terra de Canaã desfaleciam por causa da fome.
14 And Ioseph gathered all the money, that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corne which they bought, and Ioseph layd vp the money in Pharaohs house.
14 E José ajuntou todo o dinheiro que foi encontrado na terra do Egito, e na terra de Canaã, pelo trigo que eles compravam, e José levou o dinheiro para a casa de Faraó.
15 So when money fayled in the lande of Egypt, and in the lande of Canaan, then all the Egyptians came vnto Ioseph, and sayde, Giue vs bread: for why should we dye before thee? for our money is spent.
15 E quando o dinheiro acabou na terra do Egito, e na terra de Canaã, todos os egípcios vieram a José, e disseram: Dá-nos pão, por que morreremos na tua presença? Pois o dinheiro acabou.
16 Then saide Ioseph, Bring your cattell, and I will giue you for your cattell, if your money be spent.
16 E José disse: Dai o vosso gado, e eu vos darei pelo vosso gado, se não há dinheiro.
17 So they brought their cattell vnto Ioseph, and Ioseph gaue them bread for the horses, and for the flockes of sheepe, and for the heards of cattel, and for the asses: so he fed them with bread for all their cattell that yeere.
17 E eles levaram seu gado a José, e José lhes deu pão em troca pelos cavalos, e pelos rebanhos, e pelo gado dos rebanhos, e pelos jumentos. E durante aquele ano ele os alimentou em troca de todo o seu gado.
18 But when the yeere was ended, they came vnto him the next yeere, and sayd vnto him, We will not hide from my lord, that since our money is spent, and my lord hath the heards of the cattel, there is nothing left in the sight of my lorde, but our bodies and our ground.
18 Quando aquele ano terminou, vieram a ele no segundo ano, e lhe disseram: Não ocultaremos a meu senhor que o nosso dinheiro acabou. Meu senhor também tem nossos rebanhos de gado. Nada nos sobrou diante da vista do meu senhor, exceto nossos corpos e nossas terras.
19 Why shall we perish in thy sight, both we, and our land? bye vs and our land for bread, and we and our land will be bonde to Pharaoh: therefore giue vs seede, that we may liue and not dye, and that the land go not to waste.
19 Por que morreremos diante dos teus olhos, tanto nós, como a nossa terra? Compra a nós e a nossa terra por pão, e nós e nossa terra seremos servos de Faraó, e dá-nos semente, para que possamos viver, e não morrer, para que a terra não seja desolada.
20 So Ioseph bought all the lande of Egypt for Pharaoh: for the Egyptians solde euery man his ground because the famine was sore vpon the: so the land became Pharaohs.
20 E José comprou toda a terra do Egito para Faraó, porque os egípcios venderam, cada homem, o seu campo, porque a fome prevalecia sobre eles. Assim, a terra passou a ser de Faraó.
21 And he remoued the people vnto the cities, from one side of Egypt euen to the other.
21 E quanto ao povo, ele os removeu para as cidades, desde uma extremidade das fronteiras do Egito até a outra extremidade.
22 Onely the lande of the Priestes bought he not: for the Priestes had an ordinarie of Pharaoh, and they did eate their ordinarie, which Pharaoh gaue them: wherefore they solde not their grounde.
22 Somente a terra dos sacerdotes ele não comprou, pois os sacerdotes possuíam uma porção atribuída por Faraó, e comiam a sua porção que Faraó lhes dava; por isso, eles não venderam suas terras.
23 Then Ioseph sayd vnto the people, Behold, I haue bought you this daye, and your lande for Pharaoh: lo, here is seede for you: sowe therefore the grounde.
23 Então José disse a seu povo: Eis que neste dia comprei a vós e a vossa terra para Faraó. Vede, aqui há semente para vós, e semeareis a terra.
24 And of the encrease ye shall giue the fifth part vnto Pharaoh, and foure partes shalbe yours for the seede of the fielde, and for your meate, and for them of your housholdes, and for your children to eate.
24 E acontecerá que, das colheitas, dareis uma quinta parte a Faraó, e quatro partes serão vossas, para semear o campo, e para vosso alimento, e para os da vossa família, e para alimento para os vossos pequenos.
25 Then they answered, Thou hast saued our liues: let vs finde grace in the sight of my Lord, and we will be Pharaohs seruants.
25 E eles disseram: Tu salvaste as nossas vidas. Que encontremos graça à vista de meu senhor, e nós seremos servos de Faraó.
26 Then Ioseph made it a lawe ouer the land of Egypt vnto this day, that Pharaoh should haue the fift part, except the land of the priests only, which was not Pharaohs.
26 E José fez esta lei sobre a terra do Egito até este dia, que Faraó deveria ter a quinta parte, exceto a terra dos sacerdotes, que não se tornou de Faraó.
27 And Israel dwelt in the lande of Egypt, in the countrey of Goshen: and they had their possessions therein, and grewe and multiplied exceedingly.
27 E Israel habitou na terra do Egito, na região de Gósen; e eles tinham posses ali, e cresceram, e se multiplicaram grandemente.
28 Moreouer, Iaakob liued in the lande of Egypt seuenteene yeeres, so that the whole age of Iaakob was an hundreth fourtie and seuen yeere.
28 E Jacó viveu na terra do Egito por dezessete anos. Assim, toda a idade de Jacó foi cento e quarenta e sete anos.
29 Now when the time drewe neere that Israel must dye, he called his sonne Ioseph, and sayde vnto him, If I haue nowe founde grace in thy sight, put thine hand nowe vnder my thigh, and deale mercifully and truely with me: burie me not, I pray thee, in Egypt.
29 E chegando-se o tempo que Israel devia morrer. Ele chamou seu filho José, e lhe disse: Se agora eu encontrei graça à tua vista, rogo-te que ponhas tua mão debaixo da minha coxa, e age com bondade e verdade para comigo: Não me enterres, rogo-te, no Egito,
30 But when I shall sleepe with my fathers, thou shalt carry me out of Egypt, and bury mee in their buryall. And he answered, I will doe as thou hast sayde.
30 mas quando eu descansar com meus pais, tu me levarás para fora do Egito, e me enterrarás no lugar de sepultamento deles. E ele disse: Eu farei como tu disseste.
31 The he said, Sweare vnto me. And he sware vnto him. And Israel worshipped towardes the beds head.
31 E ele disse: Jura-me. E ele lhe jurou. E Israel se curvou sobre a cabeceira da cama.
