1 Then Abram went vp from Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him toward the South.
1 Abrão saiu do Egito e foi para o Neguebe, ele e a sua mulher e tudo o que tinha. E Ló foi com ele.
2 And Abram was very rich in cattell, in siluer and in golde.
2 Abrão era muito rico; possuía gado, prata e ouro.
3 And he went on his iourney from ye South toward Beth-el, to the place where his tent had bene at ye beginning, betweene Beth-el and Haai,
3 Fez as suas jornadas do Neguebe até Betel, até o lugar onde primeiro tinha armado a sua tenda, entre Betel e Ai,
4 Vnto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the Name of the Lord.
4 até o lugar do altar, que anteriormente tinha feito. E ali Abrão invocou o nome do Senhor .
5 And Lot also, who went with Abram, had sheepe, and cattell and tentes,
5 Ló, que ia com Abrão, também tinha rebanhos, gado e tendas.
6 So that the land coulde not beare them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they coulde not dwell together.
6 E a terra não podia sustentá-los, para que morassem juntos, porque eram muitos os seus bens, de maneira que não podiam morar um na companhia do outro.
7 Also there was debate betweene ye heardmen of Abrams cattell, and the heardmen of Lots cattell. (and the Canaanites and the Perizzites dwelled at that time in the land.)
7 Houve desentendimento entre os pastores do gado de Abrão e os pastores do gado de Ló. Nesse tempo os cananeus e os ferezeus habitavam essa terra.
8 Then saide Abram vnto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, betweene thee and me, neither betweene mine heardmen and thine heardmen: for we be brethren.
8 Então Abrão disse a Ló: — Não deveria haver conflito entre mim e você e entre os meus pastores e os seus pastores, porque somos parentes chegados.
9 Is not the whole land before thee? depart I pray thee from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will goe to the right: or if thou goe to the right hand, then I will take the left.
9 Não está toda a terra aí diante de você? Peço que você se afaste de mim. Se você for para a esquerda, irei para a direita; se você for para a direita, irei para a esquerda.
10 So when Lot lifted vp his eyes, he saw that all the plaine of Iorden was watered euery where: (for before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorah, it was as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou goest vnto Zoar)
10 Ló ergueu os olhos e viu toda a campina do Jordão, que era toda bem-regada, como o jardim do Senhor , como a terra do Egito, até a região de Zoar. Isto foi antes de haver o Senhor destruído Sodoma e Gomorra.
11 Then Lot chose vnto him all the plaine of Iorden, and tooke his iourney from the East: and they departed the one from the other.
11 Então Ló escolheu para si toda a campina do Jordão e partiu para o Oriente. E assim separaram-se um do outro.
12 Abram dwelled in the lande of Canaan, and Lot abode in the cities of the plaine, and pitched his tent euen to Sodom.
12 Abrão habitou na terra de Canaã, e Ló foi morar nas cidades da campina. E ia armando as suas tendas até Sodoma.
13 Now the men of Sodom were wicked and exceeding sinners against the Lord.
13 Ora, os moradores de Sodoma eram maus e grandes pecadores contra o Senhor .
14 Then the Lord saide vnto Abram, (after that Lot was departed from him) Lift vp thine eyes nowe, and looke from the place where thou art, Northward, and Southward, and Eastwarde, and Westward:
14 O Senhor disse a Abrão, depois que Ló se separou dele: — Erga os olhos e olhe de onde você está para o norte, para o sul, para o leste e para o oeste;
15 For all the land, which thou seest, will I giue vnto thee and to thy seede for euer,
15 porque toda essa terra que você está vendo, eu a darei a você e à sua descendência, para sempre.
16 And I will make thy seede, as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seede be numbred.
16 Farei a sua descendência como o pó da terra, de maneira que, se alguém puder contar o pó da terra, então será possível também contar os seus descendentes.
17 Arise, walke through the land, in ye length thereof, and breadth thereof: for I will giue it vnto thee.
17 Levante-se e percorra essa terra no seu comprimento e na sua largura, porque eu a darei a você.
18 Then Abram remoued his tent, and came and dwelled in the plaine of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and builded there an altar vnto ye Lord.
18 E Abrão, mudando as suas tendas, foi morar nos carvalhais de Manre, que estão junto a Hebrom. E ali edificou um altar ao Senhor .
