1 Now hee had said vnto Moses, Come vp to the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seuentie of the Elders of Israel, and yee shall worship a farre off.
1 Então o S enhor disse a Moisés: “Suba ao monte para encontrar-se comigo e traga Arão, Nadabe, Abiú e setenta líderes de Israel. Todos devem adorar de longe.
2 And Moses himselfe alone shall come neere to the Lord, but they shall not come neere, neither shall the people goe vp with him.
2 Somente Moisés está autorizado a se aproximar do S enhor . Os outros não devem chegar perto, e ninguém mais do povo tem permissão de subir ao monte com ele”.
3 Afterwarde Moses came and told the people all the wordes of the Lord, and all the lawes: and all the people answered with one voyce, and said, All the things which the Lord hath said, will we doe.
3 Moisés desceu e transmitiu ao povo todas as instruções e ordens do S enhor , e todo o povo respondeu em uma só voz: “Faremos tudo que o S enhor ordenou!”.
4 And Moses wrote all the wordes of the Lord, and rose vp early, and set vp an altar vnder the mountaine, and twelue pillars according to the twelue tribes of Israel.
4 Moisés anotou com exatidão todas as instruções do S enhor . Logo cedo na manhã seguinte, levantou-se e construiu um altar ao pé do monte. Também ergueu doze colunas, uma para cada tribo de Israel.
5 And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offrings of bieues, and sacrificed peace offrings vnto the Lord.
5 Em seguida, enviou alguns rapazes israelitas para apresentarem ao S enhor holocaustos e touros sacrificados como ofertas de paz.
6 Then Moses tooke halfe of the blood, and put it in basens, and halfe of the blood he sprinckled on the altar.
6 Moisés colocou em vasilhas metade do sangue desses animais e aspergiu a outra metade sobre o altar.
7 After he tooke the booke of the couenant, and read it in the audience of the people: who said, All that the Lord hath said, we will do, and be obedient.
7 Depois, pegou o Livro da Aliança e o leu em voz alta para o povo. Mais uma vez, todos responderam: “Obedeceremos ao S enhor ! Faremos tudo que ele ordenou!”.
8 Then Moses tooke the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold, the blood of the couenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these things.
8 Moisés pegou o sangue das vasilhas, aspergiu-o sobre o povo e declarou: “Este sangue confirma a aliança que o S enhor fez com vocês quando lhes deu estas instruções”.
9 Then went vp Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seuentie of the Elders of Israel.
9 Depois, Moisés, Arão, Nadabe, Abiú e os setenta líderes de Israel subiram ao monte,
10 And they saw the God of Israel, and vnder his feete was as it were a worke of a Saphir stone, and as the very heauen when it is cleare.
10 onde viram o Deus de Israel, e sob os pés dele havia uma superfície azulada como a safira e clara como o céu.
11 And vpon the nobles of the children of Israel he laide not his hande: also they sawe God, and did eate and drinke.
11 E, embora esses nobres de Israel tenham visto Deus, ele não os destruiu, e eles participaram de uma refeição na presença dele.
12 And the Lord said vnto Moses, Come vp to me into the mountaine, and be there, and I will giue thee tables of stone, and the law and the commandement, which I haue written, for to teach them.
12 Então o S enhor disse a Moisés: “Suba ao monte para encontrar-se comigo. Fique lá e eu lhe darei tábuas de pedra nas quais gravei a lei e os mandamentos para ensinar ao povo”.
13 Then Moses rose vp, and his minister Ioshua, and Moses went vp into the mountaine of God,
13 Moisés e seu auxiliar, Josué, partiram e subiram ao monte de Deus.
14 And said vnto the Elders, Tary vs here, vntill we come againe vnto you: and beholde, Aaron, and Hur are with you: whosoeuer hath any matters, let him come to them.
14 “Esperem aqui até voltarmos”, disse Moisés aos líderes. “Arão e Hur ficarão com vocês. Quem tiver algum problema para resolver durante minha ausência poderá consultá-los.”
15 Then Moses went vp to the mount, and the cloude couered the mountaine,
15 Então Moisés subiu ao monte, e a nuvem cobriu o monte.
16 And the glorie of the Lord abode vpon mount Sinai, and the cloude couered it sixe dayes: and the seuenth day he called vnto Moses out of the middes of the cloude.
16 A glória do S enhor pousou sobre o monte Sinai, e a nuvem o cobriu por seis dias. No sétimo dia, o S enhor chamou Moisés de dentro da nuvem.
17 And the sight of the glorie of the Lord was like consuming fire on the top of the moutaine, in the eyes of the children of Israel.
17 Para os israelitas que estavam ao pé do monte, a glória do S enhor no alto do Sinai parecia um fogo consumidor.
18 And Moses entred into the middes of the cloude, and went vp to the mountaine: and Moses was in the mount fourtie dayes and fourty nightes.
18 Moisés desapareceu na nuvem ao subir ao monte e ali permaneceu quarenta dias e quarenta noites.
