1 Then God spake all these wordes, saying,
1 Então Deus pronunciou todas estas palavras:
2 I am the Lord thy God, which haue brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
2 "Eu sou o Senhor teu Deus, que te fez sair do Egito, da casa da servidão.
3 Thou shalt haue none other Gods before me.
3 Não terás outros deuses diante de minha face.
4 Thou shalt make thee no grauen image, neither any similitude of things that are in heauen aboue, neither that are in the earth beneath, nor that are in the waters vnder the earth.
4 Não farás para ti escultura, nem figura alguma do que está em cima, nos céus, ou embaixo, sobre a terra, ou nas águas, debaixo da terra.
5 Thou shalt not bowe downe to them, neither serue them: for I am the Lord thy God, a ielous God, visiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, vpon the third generation and vpon the fourth of them that hate me:
5 Não te prostrarás diante delas e não lhes prestarás culto. Eu sou o Senhor, teu Deus, um Deus zeloso que vingo a iniqüidade dos pais nos filhos, nos netos e nos bisnetos daqueles que me odeiam,
6 And shewing mercie vnto thousandes to them that loue me, and keepe my commandemets.
6 mas uso de misericórdia até a milésima geração com aqueles que me amam e guardam os meus mandamentos.
7 Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vaine: for the Lord will not hold him guiltles that taketh his Name in vayne.
7 "Não pronunciarás o nome de Javé, teu Deus, em prova de falsidade, porque o Senhor não deixa impune aquele que pronuncia o seu nome em favor do erro.
8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keepe it holy.
8 Lembra-te de santificar o dia de sábado.
9 Sixe dayes shalt thou labour, and doe all thy worke,
9 Trabalharás durante seis dias, e farás toda a tua obra.
10 But the seuenth day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any worke, thou, nor thy sonne, nor thy daughter, thy man seruant, nor thy mayde, nor thy beast, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.
10 Mas no sétimo dia, que é um repouso em honra do Senhor, teu Deus, não farás trabalho algum, nem tu, nem teu filho, nem tua filha, nem teu servo, nem tua serva, nem teu animal, nem o estrangeiro que está dentro de teus muros.
11 For in sixe dayes the Lord made the heauen and the earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seuenth day: therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
11 Porque em seis dias o Senhor fez o céu, a terra, o mar e tudo o que contêm, e repousou no sétimo dia; e por isso. o Senhor abençoou o dia de sábado e o consagrou.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy dayes may be prolonged vpon the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee.
12 Honra teu pai e tua mãe, para que teus dias se prolonguem sobre a terra que te dá o Senhor, teu Deus.
13 Thou shalt not kill.
13 Não matarás.
14 Thou shalt not commit adulterie.
14 Não cometerás adultério.
15 Thou shalt not steale.
15 Não furtarás.
16 Thou shalt not beare false witnes against thy neighbour.
16 Não levantarás falso testemunho contra teu próximo.
17 Thou shalt not couet thy neighbours house, neither shalt thou couet thy neighbours wife, nor his man seruant, nor his mayde, nor his oxe, nor his asse, neyther any thing that is thy neighbours.
17 Não cobiçarás a casa do teu próximo; não cobiçarás a mulher do teu próximo, nem seu escravo, nem sua escrava, nem seu boi, nem seu jumento, nem nada do que lhe pertence."
18 And all the people sawe the thunders, and the lightnings, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mountaine smoking and when the people saw it they fled and stoode afare off,
18 Diante dos trovões, das chamas, da voz da trombeta e do monte que fumegava, o povo tremia e conservava-se à distância.
19 And sayde vnto Moses, Talke thou with vs, and we will heare: but let not God talke with vs, lest we die.
19 E disseram a Moisés: "Fala-nos tu mesmo, e te ouviremos; mas não nos fale Deus, para que não morramos."
20 Then Moses sayde vnto the people, Feare not: for God is come to proue you, and that his feare may be before you, that ye sinne not.
20 Moisés respondeu-lhes: "Não temais, porque é para vos provar que Deus veio e para que o seu temor, sempre presente aos vossos olhos, vos preserve de pecar".
21 So the people stoode afarre off, but Moses drew neere vnto the darkenes where God was.
21 E o povo conservou-se à distância, enquanto Moisés se aproximava da nuvem onde se encontrava Deus.
22 And the Lord sayde vnto Moses, Thus thou shalt say vnto the children of Israel, Ye haue seene that I haue talked with you from heauen.
22 O Senhor disse a Moisés: "Eis o que dirás aos israelitas: vistes que vos falei dos céus.
23 Ye shall not make therefore with me gods of siluer, nor gods of golde: you shall make you none.
23 Não fareis deuses de prata, nem deuses de ouro para pôr ao meu lado.
24 An altar of earth thou shalt make vnto me, and thereon shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheepe, and thine oxen: in all places, where I shall put the remembrance of my Name, I will come vnto thee, and blesse thee.
24 Tu me levantarás um altar de terra, sobre o qual oferecerás teus holocaustos e teus sacrifícios pacíficos, tuas ovelhas e teus bois. Em todo lugar onde eu fizer recordar o meu nome, virei a ti para te abençoar.
25 But if thou wilt make mee an altar of stone, thou shalt not buylde it of hewen stones: for if thou lift vp thy toole vpon them, thou hast polluted them.
25 Se me levantares um altar de pedra, não o construirás de pedras talhadas, pois levantando o cinzel sobre a pedra, tê-la-ás profanado.
26 Neither shalt thou goe vp by steppes vnto mine altar, that thy filthines be not discouered thereon.
26 Não subirás ao meu altar por degraus, para que se não descubra a tua nudez."
