1 Then God spake all these wordes, saying,
1 Então falou Deus todas estas palavras, dizendo:
2 I am the Lord thy God, which haue brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
2 Eu sou o Senhor teu Deus, que te tirei da terra do Egito, da casa da servidão.
3 Thou shalt haue none other Gods before me.
3 Não terás outros deuses diante de mim.
4 Thou shalt make thee no grauen image, neither any similitude of things that are in heauen aboue, neither that are in the earth beneath, nor that are in the waters vnder the earth.
4 Não farás para ti imagem de escultura, nem alguma semelhança do que há em cima nos céus, nem em baixo na terra, nem nas águas debaixo da terra.
5 Thou shalt not bowe downe to them, neither serue them: for I am the Lord thy God, a ielous God, visiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, vpon the third generation and vpon the fourth of them that hate me:
5 Não te encurvarás a elas nem as servirás; porque eu, o Senhor teu Deus, sou Deus zeloso, que visito a iniqüidade dos pais nos filhos, até a terceira e quarta geração daqueles que me odeiam.
6 And shewing mercie vnto thousandes to them that loue me, and keepe my commandemets.
6 E faço misericórdia a milhares dos que me amam e aos que guardam os meus mandamentos.
7 Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vaine: for the Lord will not hold him guiltles that taketh his Name in vayne.
7 Não tomarás o nome do Senhor teu Deus em vão; porque o Senhor não terá por inocente o que tomar o seu nome em vão.
8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keepe it holy.
8 Lembra-te do dia do sábado, para o santificar.
9 Sixe dayes shalt thou labour, and doe all thy worke,
9 Seis dias trabalharás, e farás toda a tua obra.
10 But the seuenth day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any worke, thou, nor thy sonne, nor thy daughter, thy man seruant, nor thy mayde, nor thy beast, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.
10 Mas o sétimo dia é o sábado do Senhor teu Deus; não farás nenhuma obra, nem tu, nem teu filho, nem tua filha, nem o teu servo, nem a tua serva, nem o teu animal, nem o teu estrangeiro, que está dentro das tuas portas.
11 For in sixe dayes the Lord made the heauen and the earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seuenth day: therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
11 Porque em seis dias fez o Senhor os céus e a terra, o mar e tudo que neles há, e ao sétimo dia descansou; portanto abençoou o Senhor o dia do sábado, e o santificou.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy dayes may be prolonged vpon the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee.
12 Honra a teu pai e a tua mãe, para que se prolonguem os teus dias na terra que o Senhor teu Deus te dá.
13 Thou shalt not kill.
13 Não matarás.
14 Thou shalt not commit adulterie.
14 Não adulterarás.
15 Thou shalt not steale.
15 Não furtarás.
16 Thou shalt not beare false witnes against thy neighbour.
16 Não dirás falso testemunho contra o teu próximo.
17 Thou shalt not couet thy neighbours house, neither shalt thou couet thy neighbours wife, nor his man seruant, nor his mayde, nor his oxe, nor his asse, neyther any thing that is thy neighbours.
17 Não cobiçarás a casa do teu próximo, não cobiçarás a mulher do teu próximo, nem o seu servo, nem a sua serva, nem o seu boi, nem o seu jumento, nem coisa alguma do teu próximo.
18 And all the people sawe the thunders, and the lightnings, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mountaine smoking and when the people saw it they fled and stoode afare off,
18 E todo o povo viu os trovões e os relâmpagos, e o sonido da buzina, e o monte fumegando; e o povo, vendo isso retirou-se e pôs-se de longe.
19 And sayde vnto Moses, Talke thou with vs, and we will heare: but let not God talke with vs, lest we die.
19 E disseram a Moisés: Fala tu conosco, e ouviremos: e não fale Deus conosco, para que não morramos.
20 Then Moses sayde vnto the people, Feare not: for God is come to proue you, and that his feare may be before you, that ye sinne not.
20 E disse Moisés ao povo: Não temais, Deus veio para vos provar, e para que o seu temor esteja diante de vós, a fim de que não pequeis.
21 So the people stoode afarre off, but Moses drew neere vnto the darkenes where God was.
21 E o povo estava em pé de longe. Moisés, porém, se chegou à escuridão, onde Deus estava.
22 And the Lord sayde vnto Moses, Thus thou shalt say vnto the children of Israel, Ye haue seene that I haue talked with you from heauen.
22 Então disse o Senhor a Moisés: Assim dirás aos filhos de Israel: Vós tendes visto que, dos céus, eu falei convosco.
23 Ye shall not make therefore with me gods of siluer, nor gods of golde: you shall make you none.
23 Não fareis outros deuses comigo; deuses de prata ou deuses de ouro não fareis para vós.
24 An altar of earth thou shalt make vnto me, and thereon shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheepe, and thine oxen: in all places, where I shall put the remembrance of my Name, I will come vnto thee, and blesse thee.
24 Um altar de terra me farás, e sobre ele sacrificarás os teus holocaustos, e as tuas ofertas pacíficas, as tuas ovelhas, e as tuas vacas; em todo o lugar, onde eu fizer celebrar a memória do meu nome, virei a ti e te abençoarei.
25 But if thou wilt make mee an altar of stone, thou shalt not buylde it of hewen stones: for if thou lift vp thy toole vpon them, thou hast polluted them.
25 E se me fizeres um altar de pedras, não o farás de pedras lavradas; se sobre ele levantares o teu buril, profaná-lo-ás.
26 Neither shalt thou goe vp by steppes vnto mine altar, that thy filthines be not discouered thereon.
26 Também não subirás ao meu altar por degraus, para que a tua nudez não seja descoberta diante deles.
