1 Now the Lord had saide vnto Moses, yet will I bring one plague more vpon Pharaoh, and vpon Egypt: after that, he will let you go hence: when he letteth you goe, he shall at once chase you hence.
1 O Senhor Deus disse a Moisés: — Vou mandar só mais um castigo sobre o rei do Egito e sobre o seu povo. Depois disso ele os deixará ir. Na verdade ele expulsará todos vocês.
2 Speake thou nowe to the people, that euery man require of his neighbour, and euery woman of her neighbour iewels of siluer and iewels of gold.
2 Porém agora diga aos israelitas, homens e mulheres, que peçam aos seus vizinhos e vizinhas joias de prata e de ouro.
3 And the Lord gaue the people fauour in the sight of the Egyptians: also Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaohs seruantes, and in the sight of the people.)
3 E o Senhor fez com que os egípcios respeitassem os israelitas. De fato, os funcionários do rei e todo o povo consideravam Moisés um grande homem.
4 Also Moses sayde, Thus sayth the Lord, About midnight will I goe out into the middes of Egypt.
4 Então Moisés disse ao rei: — O
5 And all the first borne in the lande of Egypt shall die, from the first borne of Pharaoh that sitteth on his throne, vnto the first borne of the maide seruant, that is at the mille, and all the first borne of beastes.
5 e no país inteiro morrerá o filho mais velho de cada família, desde o filho do rei, que é o herdeiro do trono, até o filho da escrava que trabalha no moinho; morrerá também a primeira cria dos animais.
6 Then there shalbe a great crie throughout all the land of Egypt, such as was neuer none like, nor shalbe.
6 Em todo o Egito haverá gritos de dor, como nunca houve antes e nunca mais haverá.
7 But against none of ye children of Israel shall a dogge moue his tongue, neyther against man nor beast, that ye may knowe that the Lord putteth a difference betweene the Egyptians and Israel.
7 Mas, entre os israelitas, nem mesmo um cachorro latirá para uma pessoa ou um animal. E assim vocês ficarão sabendo que o Senhor faz diferença entre os egípcios e os israelitas.”
8 And all these thy seruants shall come downe vnto me, and fal before me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that are at thy feete, and after this will I depart. So he went out from Pharaoh very angry.
8 E Moisés continuou: — Então todos estes seus funcionários virão me procurar e se ajoelharão diante de mim, pedindo que eu vá embora e leve todo o meu povo. Depois disso eu sairei. Moisés saiu muito zangado da presença do rei.
9 And the Lord saide vnto Moses, Pharaoh shall not heare you, that my wonders may bee multiplied in the land of Egypt.
9 Então o Senhor Deus disse a Moisés: — O rei não vai dar atenção a vocês para que eu possa fazer coisas espantosas no Egito.
10 So Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: but the Lord hardened Pharaohs heart, and he suffred not the children of Israel to goe out of his lande.
10 Moisés e Arão fizeram todas essas coisas espantosas diante do rei do Egito. Porém o Senhor fez com que o rei continuasse teimando, e este não deixou que os israelitas saíssem do país.
