1 Ye are the children of the Lord your God. Ye shall not cut yourselues, nor make you any baldnesse betweene your eyes for the dead.
1 Filhos sois do Senhor vosso Deus; não vos cortareis a vós mesmos, nem abrireis calva entre vossos olhos por causa de algum morto.
2 For thou art an holy people vnto ye Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a precious people vnto himselfe, aboue all the people that are vpon the earth.
2 Porque és povo santo ao Senhor teu Deus, e o Senhor te escolheu para lhe seres o seu próprio povo, acima de todos os povos que há sobre a face da terra.
3 Thou shalt eate no maner of abomination.
3 Nenhuma coisa abominável comereis.
4 These are the beastes, which ye shall eate, the beefe, the sheepe, and the goate,
4 Estes são os animais que comereis: o boi, a ovelha, a cabra,
5 The hart, and the roe buck, and the bugle, and the wilde goate, and the vnicorne, and the wilde oxe, and the chamois.
5 o veado, a gazela, o cabrito montês, a cabra montesa, o antílope, o órix e a ovelha montesa.
6 And euery beast that parteth ye hoofe, and cleaueth the clift into two clawes, and is of the beasts that cheweth the cudde, that shall ye eate.
6 Dentre os animais, todo o que tem a unha fendida, dividida em duas, e que rumina, esse podereis comer.
7 But these ye shall not eate, of them that chew the cud, and of them that deuide and cleaue the hoofe onely: ye camell, nor the hare, nor the cony: for they chewe the cudde, but deuide not ye hoofe: therefore they shall be vncleane vnto you:
7 Porém, dos que ruminam, ou que têm a unha fendida, não podereis comer os seguintes: o camelo, a lebre e o querogrilo, porque ruminam, mas não têm a unha fendida; imundos vos serão;
8 Also the swine, because he deuideth the hoofe, and cheweth not the cud, shalbe vncleane vnto you: ye shall not eate of their flesh, nor touch their dead carkeises.
8 nem o porco, porque tem unha fendida, mas não rumina; imundo vos será. Não comereis da carne destes, e não tocareis nos seus cadáveres.
9 These ye shall eate, of all that are in the waters: all that haue finnes and scales shall ye eate.
9 Isto podereis comer de tudo o que há nas águas: tudo o que tem barbatanas e escamas podereis comer;
10 And whatsoeuer hath no finnes nor scales, ye shall not eate: it shall be vncleane vnto you.
10 mas tudo o que não tem barbatanas nem escamas não comereis; imundo vos será.
11 Of all cleane birdes ye shall eate:
11 De todas as aves limpas podereis comer.
12 But these are they, whereof ye shall not eate: the eagle, nor the goshawke, nor the osprey,
12 Mas estas são as de que não comereis: a águia, o quebrantosso, o xofrango,
13 Nor the glead nor the kite, nor the vulture, after their kind,
13 o açor, o falcão, o milhafre segundo a sua espécie,
14 Nor all kinde of rauens,
14 todo corvo segundo a sua espécie,
15 Nor the ostrich, nor the nightcrow, nor the semeaw, nor the hawke after her kinde,
15 o avestruz, o mocho, a gaivota, o gavião segundo a sua espécie,
16 Neither the litle owle, nor the great owle, nor the redshanke,
16 o bufo, a coruja, o porfirião,
17 Nor the pellicane, nor the swanne, nor the cormorant:
17 o pelicano, o abutre, o corvo marinho,
18 The storke also, and the heron in his kinde, nor the lapwing, nor the backe.
18 a cegonha, a garça segundo a sua espécie, a poupa e o morcego.
19 And euery creeping thing that flieth, shall be vncleane vnto you: it shall not be eaten.
19 Também todos os insetos alados vos serão imundos; não se comerão.
20 But of all cleane foules ye may eate.
20 De todas as aves limpas podereis comer.
21 Ye shall eate of nothing that dieth alone, but thou shalt giue it vnto the stranger that is within thy gates, that he may eate it: or thou maiest sell it vnto a stranger: for thou art an holy people vnto the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mothers milke.
21 Não comerás nenhum animal que tenha morrido por si; ao peregrino que está dentro das tuas portas o darás a comer, ou o venderás ao estrangeiro; porquanto és povo santo ao Senhor teu Deus. Não cozerás o cabrito no leite de sua mãe.
22 Thou shalt giue the tithe of all the increase of thy seede, that commeth foorth of the fielde yeere by yeere.
22 Certamente darás os dízimos de todo o produto da tua semente que cada ano se recolher do campo.
23 And thou shalt eate before the Lord thy God (in the place which he shall chose to cause his Name to dwell there) the tithe of thy corne, of thy wine, and of thine oyle, and the first borne of thy kine and of thy sheepe, that thou maiest learne to feare the Lord thy God alway.
23 E, perante o Senhor teu Deus, no lugar que escolher para ali fazer habitar o seu nome, comerás os dízimos do teu grão, do teu mosto e do teu azeite, e os primogênitos das tuas vacas e das tuas ovelhas; para que aprendas a temer ao Senhor teu Deus por todos os dias.
24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to cary it, because the place is farre from thee, where the Lord thy God shall chose to set his Name, when the Lord thy God shall blesse thee,
24 Mas se o caminho te for tão comprido que não possas levar os dízimos, por estar longe de ti o lugar que Senhor teu Deus escolher para ali por o seu nome, quando o Senhor teu Deus te tiver abençoado;
25 Then shalt thou make it in money, and take the money in thine hand, and goe vnto the place which the Lord thy God shall chose.
25 então vende-os, ata o dinheiro na tua mão e vai ao lugar que o Senhor teu Deus escolher.
26 And thou shalt bestowe the money for whatsoeuer thine heart desireth: whether it be oxe, or sheepe, or wine, or strong drinke, or whatsoeuer thine heart desireth: and shalt eate it there before the Lord thy God, and reioyce, both thou, and thine household.
26 E aquele dinheiro darás por tudo o que desejares, por bois, por ovelhas, por vinho, por bebida forte, e por tudo o que te pedir a tua alma; comerás ali perante o Senhor teu Deus, e te regozijarás, tu e a tua casa.
27 And the Leuite that is within thy gates, shalt thou not forsake: for he hath neither part nor inheritance with thee.
27 Mas não desampararás o levita que está dentro das tuas portas, pois não tem parte nem herança contigo.
28 At the end of three yeere thou shalt bring foorth all the tithes of thine increase of the same yeere, and lay it vp within thy gates.
28 Ao fim de cada terceiro ano levarás todos os dízimos da tua colheita do mesmo ano, e os depositarás dentro das tuas portas.
29 Then ye Leuite shall come, because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee, and the stranger, and the fatherlesse, and the widowe, which are within thy gates, and shall eate, and be filled, that the Lord thy God may blesse thee in al the worke of thine hand which thou doest.
29 Então virá o levita {pois nem parte nem herança tem contigo}, o peregrino, o órfão, e a viúva, que estão dentro das tuas portas, e comerão, e fartar-se-ão; para que o Senhor teu Deus te abençoe em toda obra que as tuas mãos fizerem.
