1 The Reuelation of Iesus Christ, which God gaue vnto him, to shewe vnto his seruants things which must shortly be done: which he sent, and shewed by his Angel vnto his seruant Iohn,
1 Neste livro estão escritas as coisas que Jesus Cristo revelou. Deus lhe deu esta revelação para mostrar aos seus servos o que precisa acontecer logo. Cristo enviou o seu anjo para que, por meio dele, o seu servo João soubesse dessas coisas.
2 Who bare record of ye word of God, and of the testimonie of Iesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
2 João contou tudo o que viu, e aqui está o que ele contou a respeito da mensagem de Deus e da verdade revelada por Jesus Cristo.
3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that heare the wordes of this prophecie, and keepe those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
3 Feliz quem lê este livro, e felizes aqueles que ouvem as palavras desta mensagem profética e obedecem ao que está escrito neste livro! Pois está perto o tempo em que todas essas coisas acontecerão.
4 Iohn, to the seuen Churches which are in Asia, Grace be with you, and peace from him, Which is, and Which was, and Which is to come, and from the seuen Spirits which are before his Throne,
4 Eu, João, escrevo às sete igrejas que estão na província da Ásia. Que a
5 And from Iesus Christ, which is that faithful witnes, and that first begotten of the dead, and that Prince of the Kings of the earth, vnto him that loued vs, and washed vs from our sinnes in his blood,
5 e da parte de Jesus Cristo, a testemunha fiel! Ele é o primeiro Filho, que foi ressuscitado e que governa os reis do mundo inteiro. Ele nos ama, e pela sua morte na cruz nos livrou dos nossos pecados ,
6 And made vs Kings and Priests vnto God euen his Father, to him I say be glory, and dominion for euermore, Amen.
6 e fez de nós um reino de sacerdotes a fim de servirmos ao seu Deus e Pai. A Jesus Cristo sejam dados a glória e o poder para todo o sempre! Amém !
7 Beholde, he commeth with cloudes, and euery eye shall see him: yea, euen they which pearced him thorowe: and all kinreds of the earth shall waile before him, Euen so, Amen.
7 Olhem! Ele vem com as nuvens! Todos o verão, até mesmo os que o atravessaram com a lança. Todos os povos do mundo chorarão por causa dele. Certamente será assim. Amém !
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, Which is, and Which was, and Which is to come, euen the Almightie.
8 Eu sou o diz o Senhor Deus, o Todo-Poderoso, que é, que era e que há de vir.
9 I Iohn, euen your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdome and patience of Iesus Christ, was in the yle called Patmos, for the worde of God, and for the witnessing of Iesus Christ.
9 Eu sou João, irmão de vocês; e, unido com Jesus, tomo parte com vocês no Reino e também em aguentar o sofrimento com paciência. Eu estava na ilha de Patmos, para onde havia sido levado por ter anunciado a mensagem de Deus e a verdade que Jesus revelou.
10 And I was rauished in spirit on the Lordes day, and heard behinde me a great voyce, as it had bene of a trumpet,
10 No dia do Senhor fui dominado pelo Espírito de Deus e ouvi atrás de mim uma voz forte como o som de uma trombeta,
11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, that first and that last: and that which thou seest, write in a booke, and send it vnto the seuen Churches which are in Asia, vnto Ephesus, and vnto Smyrna, and vnto Pergamus, and vnto Thyatira, and vnto Sardis, and vnto Philadelphia, and vnto Laodicea.
11 que me disse:
12 Then I turned backe to see the voyce, that spake with me: and when I was turned, I sawe seuen golden candlestickes,
12 Eu virei para ver quem falava comigo e vi sete candelabros de ouro.
13 And in the middes of the seuen candlestickes, one like vnto the Sonne of man, clothed with a garment downe to the feete, and girded about the pappes with a golden girdle.
13 No meio deles estava um ser parecido com um homem, vestindo uma roupa que chegava até os pés e com uma faixa de ouro em volta do peito.
14 His head, and heares were white as white wooll, and as snowe, and his eyes were as a flame of fire,
14 Os seus cabelos eram brancos como a lã ou como a neve, e os seus olhos eram brilhantes como o fogo.
15 And his feete like vnto fine brasse, burning as in a fornace: and his voyce as the sounde of many waters.
15 Os seus pés brilhavam como o bronze refinado na fornalha e depois polido, e a sua voz parecia o barulho de uma grande cachoeira.
16 And he had in his right hand seuen starres: and out of his mouth went a sharpe two edged sword: and his face shone as the sunne shineth in his strength.
16 Na mão direita ele segurava sete estrelas, e da sua boca saía uma espada afiada dos dois lados. O seu rosto brilhava como o sol do meio-dia.
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feete as dead: then he laid his right hand vpon me, saying vnto me, Feare not: I am that first and that last,
17 Quando eu o vi, caí aos seus pés, como morto. Porém ele pôs a mão direita sobre mim e disse:
18 And am aliue, but I was dead: and beholde, I am aliue for euermore, Amen: and I haue the keyes of hell and of death.
18 Eu sou aquele que vive. Estive morto, mas agora estou vivo para todo o sempre. Tenho autoridade sobre a morte e sobre o
19 Write the things which thou hast seene, and the things which are, and the things which shall come hereafter.
19 Portanto, escreva as coisas que você vai ver, tanto as que estão acontecendo agora como as que vão acontecer depois.
20 The misterie of the seuen starres which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seuen golden candlestickes, is this, The seuen starres are the Angels of the seuen Churches: and the seuen candlestickes which thou sawest, are the seuen Churches.
20 O sentido secreto das sete estrelas que você viu na minha mão direita e dos sete candelabros de ouro é este: as sete estrelas são os anjos das sete igrejas, e os sete candelabros são as sete igrejas.
