1 I charge thee therefore before God, and before the Lord Iesus Christ, which shall iudge the quicke and dead at that his appearing, and in his kingdome,
1 Diante de Deus e de Cristo Jesus, que há de julgar vivos e mortos, pela sua manifestação e pelo seu Reino, peço a você com insistência
2 Preach the worde: be instant, in season and out of season: improue, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
2 que pregue a palavra, insista, quer seja oportuno, quer não, corrija, repreenda, exorte com toda a paciência e doutrina.
3 For the time will come, when they will not suffer wholesome doctrine: but hauing their eares itching, shall after their owne lustes get them an heape of teachers,
3 Pois virá o tempo em que não suportarão a sã doutrina; pelo contrário, se rodearão de mestres segundo as suas próprias cobiças, como que sentindo coceira nos ouvidos.
4 And shall turne their eares from the trueth, and shalbe giuen vnto fables.
4 Eles se recusarão a dar ouvidos à verdade, entregando-se às fábulas.
5 But watch thou in all thinges: suffer aduersitie: doe the worke of an Euangelist: cause thy ministerie to be throughly liked of.
5 Mas você seja sóbrio em todas as coisas, suporte as aflições, faça o trabalho de um evangelista, cumpra plenamente o seu ministério.
6 For I am nowe readie to be offered, and the time of my departing is at hand.
6 Quanto a mim, já estou sendo oferecido por libação, e o tempo da minha partida chegou.
7 I haue fought a good fight, and haue finished my course: I haue kept the faith.
7 Combati o bom combate, completei a carreira, guardei a fé.
8 For hence foorth is laide vp for me the crowne of righteousnesse, which the Lord the righteous iudge shall giue me at that day: and not to me onely, but vnto all them also that loue that his appearing.
8 Desde agora me está guardada a coroa da justiça, que o Senhor, reto juiz, me dará naquele Dia; e não somente a mim, mas também a todos os que amam a sua vinda.
9 Make speede to come vnto me at once:
9 Empenhe-se por vir até aqui o mais depressa possível.
10 For Demas hath forsaken me, and hath embraced this present world, and is departed vnto Thessalonica. Crescens is gone to Galatia, Titus vnto Dalmatia.
10 Porque Demas, tendo amado o presente século, me abandonou e se foi para Tessalônica. Crescente foi para a Galácia. Tito foi para a Dalmácia.
11 Onely Luke is with me. Take Marke and bring him with thee: for he is profitable vnto me to minister.
11 Somente Lucas está comigo. Encontre Marcos e traga-o junto com você, pois me é útil para o ministério.
12 And Tychicus haue I sent to Ephesus.
12 Quanto a Tíquico, mandei-o para Éfeso.
13 The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou commest, bring with thee, and the bookes, but specially the parchments.
13 Quando você vier, traga a capa que deixei em Trôade, na casa de Carpo. Traga também os livros, especialmente os pergaminhos.
14 Alexander the coppersmith hath done me much euill: the Lord rewarde him according to his workes.
14 Alexandre, o ferreiro, me causou muitos males; o Senhor dará a retribuição de acordo com o que ele fez.
15 Of whome be thou ware also: for he withstoode our preaching sore.
15 Tome cuidado com ele também você, porque resistiu fortemente às nossas palavras.
16 At my first answering no man assisted me, but all forsooke me: I pray God, that it may not be laide to their charge.
16 Na minha primeira defesa, ninguém foi a meu favor; todos me abandonaram. Que isto não lhes seja posto na conta!
17 Notwithstanding the Lord assisted me, and strengthened me, that by me the preaching might be fully beleeued, and that al the Gentiles should heare: and I was deliuered out of the mouth of the lion.
17 Mas o Senhor esteve ao meu lado e me revestiu de forças, para que, através de mim, a pregação fosse plenamente cumprida, e todos os gentios a ouvissem. E fui libertado da boca do leão.
18 And the Lord will deliuer me from euery euil worke, and will preserue me vnto his heauenly kingdome: to whome be praise for euer and euer, Amen.
18 O Senhor me livrará também de toda obra maligna e me levará salvo para o seu Reino celestial. A ele, glória para todo o sempre. Amém!
19 Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the householde of Onesiphorus.
19 Dê saudações a Prisca e Áquila, e à casa de Onesíforo.
20 Erastus abode at Corinthus: Trophimus I left at Miletum sicke.
20 Erasto ficou em Corinto. Quanto a Trófimo, deixei-o doente em Mileto.
21 Make speede to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.
21 Faça o possível para vir antes do inverno. Êubulo manda saudações; o mesmo fazem Prudente, Lino, Cláudia e todos os irmãos.
22 The Lord Iesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you, Amen. ‘The second Epistle written from Rome vnto Timotheus, the first Bishop elected of the Church of Ephesus, when Paul was presented the second time before the Emperour Nero.’
